Hi everyone,
Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year. We had a lovely time with rellies although greta neice came out in chicken pox on Christmas Day.
OS wise I get a Kitchenaid mixer for Christmas (long coveted) and have been bread making since then. It's great because my hands aren't up to kneading. The first two loaves were a bit heavy but I think the yeast was old so I got some more and made a brilliant foccaccio with an aubergine casserole thing. I've also made a brilliant batch of brownies in it although I'm trying not to make fattening things. I gave most of the brownies to DS and GF.
I have decided to try to eat more veggie and fish meals this year. We are both carnivores but I must admit we didn't miss the meat in the aubergine dish so that will definitely be repeated.
Good luck to your DD Jackie O and i hope everyone has a happy and productive day.0 -
 anyone remember my mysterious leaky roof which soaked two floors of my flat in September? Finally getting the damage repaired today, after painting the living room ceiling they've made a hole in it and a bucket full of water has come out!! All he thought he'd be doing is a bit of painting, but it's gonna be a long week...Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0

Morning All!
Finally back to normal. I loved Christmas, New Year and the two week break from work, but feel like I need a routine again now!
Up early today as per one of my new year goals (not resolutions cos I never keep them!) and was actually at work 15 minutes early! All my colleagues were shocked, I'm the one who's normally 15 minutes late :rotfl:
I meal planned last night and don't need to buy anything apart from bread this week. Determined to get on top of budgetting and menu planning this year, I always start off with good intentions and then I slowly slip back into bad habits, so I feel 2011 is the year for change!:D
After work this evening will be doing a massive clean up, we still have Christmas pressies lying around so need to find homes for things. Also aiming to write the intro to my uni essay which is due next week.
Off to have my lunch now, chicken noodles, yum!
Have a great day folks!0 -

do any of you do the grocery challenge? just wondering if cleaning products/toiletries etc are included in your budgets?"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0

Right. MASSIVE progress. OH and I had a talk and we've agreed to sell one of our beloved (Yeah right!) tractors. We will keep the vintage ones as they are very sentimental, but the modern one we don't use right now. Infact we've got loan of tractors should we need to use one so it's been sat still for nearly a year. I don't really want to sell it, i was skint for 2 years just to pay for it. But it's worth near on £10k and that will clear our debts and we will have more money in the long run, so it's got to be done. I thought OH would refuse, but he's agreed to it
Anyone want a tractor??
Just put my jacket potato in the oven. Then off to town for work as they've still not called to talk about my notice!!
Written my letters to our creditors today too. So that til the tractor is sold we will have payment plans set up.
Feel ALOT better about the future today!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
Debt payments 2012 £433.270 -

Afternoon folks -late one for me. The funeral went well enough but it's been a miserable day for it.
Had a physio session first thing (dodgy knee) and a strange thing happened... pulled into the car park and the only available space had a woman standing in it. I had noticed a man walking up the car park towards the right but didn't think anything of it. The woman tells me that the space is being kept for a doctor who has to make an urgent call at the walk-in centre, no doctor in sight. I asked why he couldn't use the reserved doctor space, however moved forward to let this bloke drive in. Turns out to be the bloke I saw walking away and if he was a doctor then I'm a monkey's uncle. :eek Luckily he thought better of parking there!
Plenty of OS here as low carbs rule and the freezer is stuffed.
Chilly chilly here, may need to break the seal on the thermostat! :rotfl:0 -
