Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning Halight and all to follow,
WellI have not seen this time of day for a while :rotfl:was a bit of a shock getting up, quite nice to get back into a routine.
I am still off today, but OH and dd go back today, so I will have a good clean through, and do an online shop, and shove a wash on, if I have time I will make my dad a cake with the bananas that are going over.
Dinner tonight will be something with pork chops, maybe roast or mash and veg, starting my healthy eating today, will see how I get on with cutting down and cutting out fat, if not I shall low carb again for a while.
Bramble :bdaycake:Happy Birthday have a great day xxxx

Morning all
Can't believe I'm awake so early was hoping for a lie-in! DH was asked to go into work early, then after he'd got up gone out of the door and was just about to leave we had a call to say he didn't need to go in early .... he was not a happy bunny, so came back in had a cuppa and has now gone to work. Actually it won't hurt he's still not really very well so an easier day will be good for him.
Am trying to remain positive, have a list of jobs to do today and will work my way through as many as possible, but I know it's not worth beating myself up if I don't get it all done, only working for half a day tomorrow then off again until Monday, so not a major issue.
Will be heading to scales, bank, b/societies and laundrette (sleeping bag from caravan needs washing and it's too big for my machine) today. Will also head over to the drs to see about an appointment, the first step to getting myself sorted. Not trying to look to far ahead at the moment just taking one day at a time. Hoping once we get back to normal routine, kids back at school, me back at work, I'll start to relax a bit. I know for a lot of people routine is boring but I do find it comforting and I like to know where I am and when I'm supposed to be there!
Today I will be cracking on with washing, drying and ironing, still have a pile of dirty laundry even though washing machine doesn't seem to have been empty since we got home on Saturday, will plod along, at least if I get it done today there won't be very much on Thursday/Friday. Will be having a general tidy-up once all the decs and tree have been put away today. Dinner tonight will be a bit disjointed as DS1 has Cadets so the boys will eat early and DH and I will eat once he's been taken to Cadets.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning all
Back to work and I was amazed I woke up at 5:45 without an alarm clock!!!!!!
DS's are still off, at home with OH.
Planning on going to the bank, been colecting 20ps and can only bag 5 at a time so thought I would bank some and spare money into the savings, although haven't actually used the passbook sine 2002 so apologies to anyone behind me in the queue as it may take some updating.
All our jobs are currently under review due to the council cuts so may find some news out today as if we are to get 90 day notice it'll be anytime now.
Taking lunch to work with me and its chicken chasseur for tea - off to grab another cuppa before I get ready
Have a great day everyone0 -
Morning all, Early one here too, the OH is at work so I got up to make his lunch and flask. The kids are still in bed which is a first for DS as he normally gets up at 5am. So I am sitting quietly with a tea enjoying a moment to myself. WM on and one already on the airer, taking advantage of the heating being on.
Today I will be flying so the Front room will get a clearing and I need to take a few bits to the charity shop, will only take a small amount of cash with me so I dont get tempted!! I also want to make some twinks and muffins for the kids pack lunches tomorrow might even melt down ome of the christmas chocolate to make crispie cakes!!
HM Pie and mash for dinner and then an early night for the kids.
Hope everyone returning to work enjoys their day back into routine.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRAMBLE hope you have a lovely day. x

Another one here who's back to work, hubby has another week yet.
I can't say I'm full of enthusiasm, we have a staff meeting at 10 & I'm sure it won't be good news.
It will be interesting to see which staff members turn up today, some were warned about absenteeism at the end of term, 2 in particular haven't managed to work their full quota of weekly hours in the last year.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning all, Happy birthday Bramble. My neck has been in spasm for the last 2 days and is REALLY painful. But its better now that I'm not being sick anymore. Diet starts today as I'm fed up of feeling bloated and sleepy all the time. So will ensure I'm taking all the medicine I need to (sometimes I forget!), and keep up with the diet which made me feel so alive and vibrant last year.
Today dinner be chicken pie and vegetables out of the freezer. Have to go to Makro to get things for school disco on Friday. Going to MILs at the weekend (will be going down twice a month as she's so ill). Have the gammon which I've been soaking for a few days to cook today so I can use it as ham for dinner tomorrow and the childrens packed lunches.
Snow forecast very soon - will be interesting to see how much we get this time. Would be good to get out in the garden and see how its getting on, but depends on weather. Hugs to all xMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0
