  • rubytuesday - good luck with the chair, hope you get a good price for it

Miserable weather here again today. Son is on his half term hols from the nursery, so took a trip to Asda to do the food shopping and spent £51.55 but this also includes food for lunch on Weds as we still get together with my ante natal girls and the kids for lunch and a catch up. After asda, had a picnic lunch in the car whilst watching the boats then we went swimming for 2 hours! Came out looking like a prune but had fun as it is a fun pool which has loads of cool things for the kids.

All very knackered tonight, so early night for all. Hope everyone has had a great Valentines day.

  • Hi - sorry things been a bit manic!

    Hope you're all well xxxxxx

Well news here at DanssTowers :p

Danny is on the road to recovery now - 99.9% sound again but still has a bit gash on the leg - so waiting for that to heal completely before riding again. Still washing 2 x a day.

Have bought a new bike myself now! (I blame DansDad totally) gone from 600 to 1000cc  Big old rocket ship. Warp drive as standard  So now have a £2600 finance debt with total interest charges of £159...

We finally have 5 fence panels in! Have traded services with stepdad to look at his brakes on his car and sort in exchange for help getting the rest of the panels up :D Once the fencing is sorted I can get hens :p

Ma has gone with stepdad to London today, so will dress up shortly and take my bike (:() to hers and take her dog out for a walk......

didnt do much over weekend apart from cleaning and shopping did walk both days with DH trying to lose a few pounds dont expect the large glass of wine I had in the evenings helped lol, only had part of family round on Sunday so was quite nice to spoil the one grandchild instead of trying to spread my time between the two although there is only months between them they play so well together

  • welsh mummy - Great idea, having a picnic lunch in the car. When my kids were little I did allsorts to give them a great (cheap) day out. It must have worked because they all look back on their childhood as having been a great time. LOL :D

Dansmum - Welcome back. Glad Dan is doing OK. I didnt know the plan was to have some hens. You must tell us more ;)

patentgirl - Great to hear from you and good luck with loosing a pound or two. :)

Have been at work all day today which has been a drag. I did manage to make my £2 payment. I am hoping this week that I will be able to pay a few hundred pounds off the mortgage if finances will allow.

I am still using up the dreaded leftovers - breakfast was a sandwich with home made sage and onion stuffing. I always use the ends of loaves to make breadcrumbs and put them in the freezer till I need them. Its far nicer than stuffing from a packet. Lunch was baked pots with homemade tuna, mayo and sweetcorn. Evening meal was sliced ham (from the freezer) with leftover apple sauce (from Christmas) and cheese over the top. Also homemade oven chips. I am well and truly stuffed now.
Not much more to report today. Hope you have all had a great frugal day.

  • Good morning ladies,

Thank u for your favourable comments about my baking - sending you all cupcakes - lol!!! images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQdyzlVUstcccQ6f1_KjPhJEBqK-gqiqWMC5TwSY_nAoAQYwerr5r0qq0Jo

Really busy day today, day off of work and should have had a pta meeting this morning which has been cancelled (yippee as needed the time!!) now at home trying to put off doing some housework (it has to be done!!) then meeting friend for lunch followed by dentist with the kids - have to squeeze in a bit of shopping too plus it's the school cake sale tomorrow and its a bit of a standing joke in school that everyone waits for my cakes to go in - so i guess i best get baking later (could do without it really) - feeling a tad stressy today as have busy few days ahead plus our heating has stopped working downstairs (fine upstairs) but as our house is H/A there is arrangements for an engineer underway (they never rush though and it's blinking freezing) - right on with the housework and ironing to warm up.

Dans mum - glad all is good with you xx

    Have a fun day.

    xx

  • trixiepix - Thank you for the cake. I hope today hasnt been too stressful for you. But the heating - Oh no, thats awful. I just hate being cold. Not nice. Let us know how you get on.:D

Today has for some reason been a naff day. I have been to work but just couldnt put my mind to anything. I wish I could sort myself out and start to be a bit more focussed with my life. I was soo lazy I didnt even bother making my £2 payment . Will have to pay £4 tomorrow.

However we still managed to eat a ton of leftovers. I had homemade stuffing on sandwiches for lunch which I love. Our evening meal was the remains of the roast dinner pie which was wonderful.

I have got a few days off work now and I need to get my rear end
into gear and get things done instead of lounging in bed. God I am just soo lazy :rotfl:

Hope you have all had a great money saving day. Hope to hear from you all soon.

    Hi everyone

Dansmum glad Dan is really on the mend now. That's exciting about the bike. I knocked my teeth out in a motorbike accident when I was 17 so am not so keen now! Although I have been on them since.

Patentgirl I now have nine watchers on my chair and have had two emails so that's exciting. I did find it all such a faff but everyone says it gets easier so I'll try and get all the clothes sorted for the next free listing day. No doubt everything already washed will somehow be covered in cats hairs and will need washing again!:rotfl:

Trixie my house has now descended into chaos again! This housework malarkey is never ending isn't it!

Well today I visited Ikea with a friend. We had a lovely day and a nice lunch there - I had Swedish meatballs but whereas my friend should take out shares in the place once a year visits are enough for me. It is so tiring!
Anyway I bought a few glass jars for chilli jam and some really large ones for cereal and a few other bits including 'over' flowering bulbs reduced but I didn't go too mad. I did see quite a few things I'd like though particularly some lovely cushions but can't afford them at the moment. So maybe I'll visit again before the years up!:rotfl:

Think that's all my news really folks - see you soon xxx

  • Hi everyone. Fresh back from picking up my bike this morning. Had a little detour and had to fill up, £15.50 which has brimmed the tank. Have realised that the APR is only 2% :p Am sad about having to leave the other one though... I do get attached to vehicles :o.

Productive day yesterday OP £150 on the mortgage, Upped the car mot/insurance fund to £300 (after taxing her £205) popped £50 in the spends account and started a pay the bike off fund with £200 (would like to get it paid off in 12-14 months)

Feeling carp today, have had a headache for about a week that just wont shift.....:( DansDad home fencing (still!) He had to rescue two frogs this morning in our pond who were, ahem, you know.... The male frog had dragged the female one down and we thought she'd drowned, but she was OK.... Arent we soft!

    Hope you're all well xxxx

  • rubytuesday - Ikea. Now you have given me a good idea. I am going to get some glass storage jars and I`m going to have a look to see if they do anything suitabe for home made jam and preserves.

Dansmum - Great news about the bike and well done with the overpayment. By the way I`ve never seen any "courting" frogs in my pond :rotfl:

jezebel1 - Great news with your weight loss at slimming world. I have followed their plan for years and its a really healthy way of eating. I have stayed at target weight for years.

Feeling a bit brighter today but still a bit under par. Paid £4 off the mortgage to make up for yesterdays blip. Had a really nice day in fact. I met up with an old friend who I havent seen for 20 years and it was FAB.:j Went to the cinema to see Keira Knighley in "Never let me go" which was pretty average.

Foodwise we had home made pizza and slimming world chips for tea which were very nice and I managed to use up a longstanding bag of pizza dough and some chorizo for on top of the cheese.

Anyway I hope you have all had a great moneysaving day.
