Hope everyone has had a good weekend.
We have had quite a MS weekend. Yesterday we had a trip to Macdonalds for lunch then on to see a Royal Navy ship that had docked in Aberdeen and was free to go on to have a look around, my son loved it - even though we had to wait over a hour to get on! I was out with the girls last night and only spent £20 for food and drinks (was driving).
Today, OH did loads of baking so cupboards now full for the week of yummy scones and cakes. Spent most of the day at home catching up on jobs and playing with playdough with my son.
Weather has been terrible , and doesn't look like it is going to improve for the half term hols this week.
Still have a mountain of things to put on ebay but did get a sale of £21 for a talking car that my son said we could sell so he is now £10.50 richer.
Hope everyone else has had a great weekend xMFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200 -
jackieglasgow - Welcome, welcome, welcome. Please join us. Its lovely to hear from you.:D
jezebel1 - Hello and well done on all your ebaying.
welshmummy - Its great to be busy and "on a roll". Sidneysdad does loads of baking. The only trouble is that we are very greedy and eat it all in one sitting. Great news about the ebaying. :T
Today has been a typical Sunday for me. Most of the day has been spent cooking and then a few hours with my children and respective partners who eat everything up.:rotfl:
I made my usual £2 payment today. Also we have decided to see what difference it makes to us by having the heating off in the bedrooms. We have got to make some savings on the gas. There are only 2 of us here and we have a very large victorian semi to heat. I think we have 18 radiators. Anyway the only radiators we are running at present are kitchen, morning room (where we spend most of our time), bathroom and hall. We are trialing the bedroom radiator off as we dont even go in there at all during the day. We have now got an electric blanket on the bed. I`ll keep you all posted. What do the rest of you good people do?
I have made my mealplan for the week which includes roast dinner pie for 2 days, ham with apple sauce and cheese, home made pizza and fish curry and rice. Today we had a chicken roast dinner with veg and roast and new pots followed by various cakes and jelly with pineapple and ice cream. Very nice. :T
Hope you have all had a great money saving day.

Tomorrow when I cook the roast dinner pie I think I might cook a raft of baked potatoes and then freeze them. I have been reading on another thread that this is a real time saver and that they taste really good.0 -
Hello everyone. Did really well at the jumble yesterday. Five items for a pound - a beautiful Portfolio dress, a top by Kushi, a top by Oasis, a really lovely top by a Canadian label Urban Behaviour and a Primark dress, a lovely floral print but it doesn't suit me and made me look about six! Also two T shirts for OH one of which he found himself after standing around like a lemon for a while. I couldn't even believe he came with me!!
I finally listed a Chesterfield Chair on ebay -my first listing and what a palavar that was! A friend who does removals gave it to me and though it's lovely it's too big for the back room really as there's so much furniture in there so I said I'd split the proceeds with him. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Good morning all,
I've been off the radar for a few days as have just been chasing my tail and haven't had chance to catch up with all of you - hoping you are all well xx - ruby tuesday, glad to see you're back online - i'm hoping dansmum is ok as i haven't noticed a post from her for a few days.
Sooooooooooooooooooooo, I've had a heap of baking to do over the weekend as had promised valentines cupcakes and rocky road slices for the office for today (split profits with me and the charity we are supporting this year :A), so that should be at least another £40 to pay off of the diminishing barclaycard (only £99 left, yippee:T) - i promised my girlies i would make them heart biscuits decorated with icing and edible glitter to take into their friends this morning , so last night at ridiculous o'clock found myself piping names onto blinking cookies only to be told by DD2 she didn't like the taste of them this morning!!! (she is super picky about textures and flavours which is yet another little quirk of her condition) , needless to say yesterday was a NSD as i didn't set foot outside of the kitchen let alone the house!!!
Saturday i was doing the regular dropping off children here there and everywhere plus i managed to do some housework, shopping etc - shopping on budget (result) - i did have a little spending spree on Friday as i saw a lovely wild bird feeder thingy for the garden (looks a bit like a metal coat stand which cats can't climb!!!) for £7.99 in poundstretcher when a v similar one in Argos was £27 - i love seeing birds in the garden as much as i love flowers, so i just had to buy one along with 2 heated car seat covers for the car that were on offer too - my booty was sooooo warm driving into work this morning - lol:rotfl:( all paid for by baking money)
Had a heart to heart with OH yesterday about plans for the future and feel a lot calmer for having done so - so today feeling upbeat - even though i'm in work!! - plus the sun is already shining - yay!!
Remembered to bring lunch with me today so gonna be another NSD, oh thanks too to jezebel1 for heads up about free ebay listing, even though i've been ebaying my socks off over the last few weeks i completely missed the messages about free listing, so last night relisted 30+ items, plus sold £50 ish of stuff, so what with that and cake money, Barclaycard should be paid off by the end of the week.
Now i've bored you all to tears with my ramblings i best head off and get on with some work - lol!!!
Have a fun filled frugal day xx

Well done on the baking Trixie and the diminishing Barclay card.
I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for the bird feeder.
I have a watcher on my chair so that is exciting!
Need to buy a chicken for dinner tonight and some stuff to make fudge for Valentines so will be spending, but haven't spent much at all last week.
Lots of washing up to be done and may get round to emptying my compost bin which is no longer breaking down as I never turn it!!!Here dead we lie because we did not choose

I had an email asking if I had a buy it now price for my item which I don't I said I'd take my chances at auction. Any thoughts on that for an ebay novice? Here dead we lie because we did not choose

rubytuesday - Someone must be very interested to ask you for a buy it now price. I would have a think about how much you had hoped to sell the chair for and just email that price back to him / her. I would send that email asap if you have a price in mind because if someone places a bid on your chair in the meantime you cannot sell it someone with a buy it now price. Hope that makes sense !!:)0

Yes it does. Oooh I don't know what to do because the prices they have gone for have really varied.
Eta I've got three watchers on it now so I think I'll just take my chances. Here dead we lie because we did not choose

Dansmum - WHERE ARE YOU ?
rubytuesday - I am just soo jealous of your jumble sale finds. I just love everything about jumbles but they seem to have gone out of vogue in our town. Worst luck
trixiepix - Welcome back. God you have been busy. All that baking as well as family life with your children. However I just love being busy ! Good luck with all your ebay items. I`ll keep my fingers crossed for you.:)
jezebel1 - Wow you are inventive. I bet your valentines bear is fab. Also what a good idea at cutting up the meat. Now I only go to the supermarket once a week (on a Friday morning) there aren`t many bargains to be had at this time.
Today has been a bit of a slow day. I decided to get up early with Sidney and go for our run as a builder was here all day replastering the front bedroom and I had to stay in. Had a lovely card, box of chocolates and some flowers from sidneysday. As he is the baker in our house, I bought him a couple of heart shaped cake tins. :rotfl:
Actually I think I have benefitted from getting up earlier and am hoping to do the same tomorrow even if its just an hour earlier.
Paid my usual £2 off the mortgage today and have eaten loads of leftovers. Had some smoked fish for breakfast from the freezer and some homemade soup for lunch. Tea was roast dinner pie. Well it is Monday !!
My parents visited today and they gave me their tesco clubpoints. After they left I went on line and ordered a magazine subscription for a food magazine. There`s nothing I like better than sitting down with a new magazine. I have a couple of colleagues at work who I pass my magazines on to so a bit of recycling there :rotfl:
No more news for today so I hope you are all having a great day.
