Dansmum - Great to hear from you. Glad Dan is doing better. Thats really good news. It must be a lot warmer today because I went to work and didnt have my coat on in the car. I just wore it to walk from the car park to my office. Roll on warmer weather
Today has been another work day. I have done 3 days this week. Thankfully thats it until Tuesday. I did actually finnish a couple of hours earlier and decided to do my supermarket shopping on the way home from work as I didnt need much. The idea being that tomorrow I can hopefully get on with a few jobs outside / in the garden.
Shopping wise I did really well. I only spent £15.22. :j I actually bought a few things to put on one side. Utterly Butterly was on offer so I bought 4 packs which are now in the freezer (4 x 75p). Foxes biscuits were half price so I bought a couple of packs so we can take some with us to the cinema as a treat. (2 x 84p). Everything else was a need and not just a want - potatoes, washing up liquid, bread, cheese, eggs, bananas. All in all I was very pleased. We have everything we need for at least a week.
When I go to work next week I am going to try and do some different hours to see if I might make better use of my time and spend less time in bed!! (my downfall) I usuall work from 10am - 7pm. I am now going to try working 6.30am to 3.30pm. If I get up earlier I am hoping that I might actually do something with my time when I get home in the late afternoon. All I can do is to give it a try.:T
Not much more to report today troops so hope you are all busy saving / making money.

A NSD for me today and my chair sold yesterday for 132 pounds. My friend and I delivered it to him today which saved him forty quid but he insisted we took a tenner for our trouble so we used that on a lovely Turkish breakfast.
Hope you're all well xHere dead we lie because we did not choose

Glad you're feeling better DansMum!
I bought the M and S meal deal today. I usually only get it when the whole chicken is available as I don't really like prepared food but I thought I'd try the seabass as I've never had it before.
I am trying to get motivated for an out door swim! Just one last cup of tea and I'll be off.......honest!Here dead we lie because we did not choose

rubytuesday - Great news about the chair. Well done.:j
Dansmum - Great to hear from you and glad you are feeling well.:)
Today has been very productive. After a lovely long run with Sid, I tackled some of the garden. There is loads of cutting back to do but I managed a couple of hours. Hopefully if its fine again tomorrow I might get a bit more done. I also managed to give my car a quick hoover and a wash.
Loads of other bits done as well - Cleaned out the tortoises house, several short phone calls, sorted out my cleaning basket which contains cloths, brushes. Also some general cleaning and tidying up.
Foodwise it was porridge for breakfast, followed by home made stuffing sandwiches for lunch. Thats the last of it now. Tea was leftover tuna and pasta from the freezer plus garlic bread.
Just been to the cinema agin tonight and watched "West is West" which was quite funny. I must get to see over 10 films a month with my unlimited card and all for £13.50. Actually its going up to £15 per month soon but I consider it money well spent.
Hope you are all having a great day

Hello All,
Today has been a great money saving day. Took Sidney out for our free run this morning then spent a couple of hours in the garden cutting back. I have now come to a bit of a standstill. I have 2 green recycling bins for garden waste. Both are full to the brim till Wednesday . If I do any more cutting back I`ll just have to pile it up somewhere.
We went to the cinema again this afternoon to see "True Grit" which was quite good. We did have a bit of a treat afterwards and had a £3.50 kebab between us. We are both stuffed now.:)
Moneywise I paid my £2 mortgage money then realised its payday on Monday so I can pay all thats left in my current account off my mortgage. So I paid a further £30.82 off. God I just cant wait till its all paid off.
After the film we called at B&Q. We have just had one of our spare bedrooms replastered so I needed some paint. Sidneysdad painted the ceiling white this morning. We went and bought some white gloss (£9.98) and some pink emulsion reduced to £5.00 (bargain). The best was that I bought the paint using the voucher I got from work
I a hoping that over the next few weeks I spend my free time either in the garden or decorating the spare bedroom.
I hope everyone has had a great moneysaving day.

Rubytuesday - fantastic news about the chair - wish i could get a big sale like that!
We got our electricity and gas bills todayWe are in credit with the gas but owe of £80 on the electric . So have been taking drastic measures in trying to cut back on the electricity. We are pretty savvy about turning off lights etc but think the tumble dryer is a big culprit, so today managed to get all the bedding dried outside :j.
We are off to Centerparcs in a few weeks and have just booked some activities, hopefully to help us not spend a fortune when we are there. Also plan to bring a load of food as have heard that the onsite supermarket is very expensive.
Planning to head to the local car boot tomorrow much to my son's delight, he loves going and will bargain to get a good price for a toy car - so proud, my frugal ways are rubbing off on him!! Hopefully, will get a few bargains, and maybe some things that I can list on ebay - did this last year and made a good profit on all the items bought.
Enough of my rambling, hope everyone is fine and is having a great MS weekend
