jezebel1 - Bad news about the pc but hey at least its sorted now. You seem to be doing soo well in lots of things so give yourself a well deserved pat on the back.

I have been really, really busy these last few days with my garden. Every spare hour has been spent outside. The cutting back is completed and I need to do loads of other jobs. Today I had a raft of gravel delivered and this will take up quite a while to put down as it is for covering lots of small areas rather than in one large area IYSWIM. However the garden is starting to look great and really tidy. I dont want to buy any mulch for the beds yet until I see what plants appear in a month or so.

Yesterday I had a trip to town to visit the pound shop. I spent a fiver and bought a bag of garden membrane, loads of plant pot, box of shortbreadm dustpan / brush and a bucket. All items I needed so money well spent.

Not much else to report folks. Hope you are all having a frugal day.

Not been on for a while busy sorting out things with mum and dad and getting ready for holiday has come round really quickly off on a carribean cruise for our 30th wedding anniversary luckliey it was all paid for before redundancy notice appeared
Dansmum thanks for info about the crime prevention, they was out at the time but think we probably disturbed them when I dropped them home as they had been out with me, as PC was in bits and in black bags on the bed, they have been sent some window locks and a fake alarm but they are now looking into getting one it has definatly shook them up
Sidsneysmum you are making me jealous with all your gardening havent done as much as wanted to at weekend DH did manage to get potatoes and garlic in at the allotment, did you look into renting a cottage in the summer? definatly noticed that people are driving alot slower as well anything to save bit extra
well not much else have a good week everyone in case I dont get back on before I go awayxx

    Hi everyone :p

Glad your garden is getting there Sidneysmum mine is looking better than it did. It always seems such a herculean task when you start, but it comes together quite quickly.

We went to Bee and Qoo on Sunday to spend my Xmas voucher. I bought some baskets to hang on the new fence, some happy faced spring pansies (love pansies :D) compost, 2 standard lavenders and 2 bright blue pots to put them in and a wax lyrical diffuser :A Also got 4 rounder sleepers for the raised bed number 1. My stepdad has given us some chain link fencing so we can start to get the hens run sorted and a collegue has dismantled a shed that I think we'll have so they can have a posh home. I potted the baskets and pots up yesterday and has made such a difference a bit of colour... I'm waiting for my blue geranium to show its head so I can rescue it before I cover the garden in weed membrane.

We're still debating whether to partially pave the garden or have more turf.... I like the idea of plum slate with turf around the raised flower bed with random slabs..... DansDad is just dreaming of his workshop:A

On a good note my mortgage is officially under 50k :j

    hi all .
everyone talking about doing the garden has made me think about mine its not very big and most of it is paved but the weeds do grow through everywhere have a few pots which i keep meaning to fill the most that ever happens is i paint my fence when it gets warmer lol the back door has been looked since befor xmas so not been out there it looks nice for about a day when i have weeded it all but it doesnt last no matter what type of weedkiller i put down they always come back last year had intentions of planting flowers and getting a nice table and chairs so i could sit out there with my coffee ,have lived here about 3 years now and the garden faces other houses so close they are nearly in your living room, i moved from a house with a nice patio garden at the top where you had stairs and more open space at the bottom it faced onto the canal where there were geese ,canal boats and lots of open space its just not the same would like to try and make it a bit more shelterd from the rest of the houses have put up a 6ft fence but other than that not sure what to do. had to move as they were pulling my last house down lived there for 22 years .
always fancied growing fruit and veg but even plants in my kitchen dont last long dont think im green fingerd any tips on gardening for dummies could i plant flowers now or is it too late .
tried all my clothes on last night and things are just not looking right lol ive lost 9lbs now at slim world but seem to be loosing it in funny places so my clothes just look wrong am tempted to ebay everything and start again gave a lot of stuff to my freind the other day was still ok but heels worn down a bit on shoes ect so didnt want to chance the moaning of ebay if they were not happy she seemed over the moon so all good .oh got trial for job on thu so fingers crossed on that one .

patent girl. hope your parents doing ok after the break in ,i had my front door kicked in middle of last year it can be quiet unerving.

sidneys mum. your garden sounds great i just wish i had yyour stamina realy got to be in the right mood even for weeding .

    catch you all later x

Its all gone a bit quiet here....:o

I declare Friday Saturday and Sunday as all NSDs so taking me to 9 although I spent Monday, groceries and bits and bobs.... Spent yesterday as it was my birthday :D and we grabbed our passports and went to London ;) for the day to the Ace Cafe... Sun was shining and we sat outside in the sun and it was glorious... Although a little warm on the way back in thermals :rotfl:

We've been pushing on with the garden the raised bed is done now and DansDad has the afternoon off to hopefully do some fencing in preparation for the hens :D

Am starting the diet again in earnest as I've eaten far too much over the last few weeks and feeling decidedly doughy again,,, Just need a month probably to shift just over half a stone, but thats always the hardest one isnt it?
