Hi everyone,
Dansmum, hope Dan is trotting around beautifully today xx, as for the whole baking thing, i do ok from it - i've been making novelty celebration and cupcakes for a few years and word has spread, so i bake quite often, i could take it to the next level and set it up as a business but i wouldn't leave my office job (cuz of pension, perks and family private health ins) and it's all a tad scary (tax etc etc) - i was intending to push forward with it when we were moving but now that's all fallen through i've kinda put the plan on the back burner!
Sidneysmum, thank you for asking after DD2, she's a lot better today but still running a temperature so she's been home from school again, she will be tomorrow too as she's not completely well and it is Friday!!
Well, had yogurt (which was nearing use by date) plus a few left over prunes that i had in the fridge (had pureed the others and sneaked them into some choc fairy cakes for the kids - they never know and makes no difference to the taste but as DD1 isn't really a great fruit lover i sneak fruit in whereever i can) actually tasted better than it sounds - honestly:rotfl:
Went out for lunch with my mum and DD2 which i paid for (OH funded) did spend a little in morrisons which was a tad frivilous (ran completely out of my decaf which i would prefer not to live without) and bought some really cute teatowels (rock n roll), comic for DD2 (cuz she's ill), more calpol and a few little bits, so that's £15 to find from somewhere ( this week shopping budget is getting smaller and smaller)
As i was finishing cake (birthday cake for friends son) tonight the kids had 'quick' tea, hate to say it but it was chicken nuggets, oven chips and beans - i used up the last of the veg in a veggie omelette (trying to stick to low carbs at the mo)
Just trying to sort agenda now for tomorrows pta meeting, first of the year so it will go on for ages!!!!!!!!!!, well at least i won't have the opportunity to go shopping in the morning - lol!!
Have fun!! ( just make sure it is gonna cost ya:rotfl:)

Sidneysmum what an amazing OP :j We'll all have to have a partay when that mortgage is knocked on the head
Trixiepix glad DD is feeling better.... Am trying to do low carbs too as carbs really dont agree with meI did some low carb baking myself yesterday. I made some choc nut muffins (low carb
) a nut roast (low carb
) a lemon low carb cheesecake
:D:D and high carb flapjacks
(for DansDad really......) As a vegetarian it can be a challenge but am doing OK so far.... Do you find though that the only thing that will do it is toast????
Dan trotted up lame the other night, which is a worry. There's no swelling and its not hot so can only assume that he's sore??? Am waiting for the vet to call me before I give in to a call out... We were hoping to do a 5 mile pleasure ride at the end of the month, but will have to wait until the comic relief ride which is MarchMFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15

trixiepix - What a wonderful sideline - novelty cakes and cupcakes. I intend to improve my baking skills this year. At the moment, sidneysdad does the Sunday cakes but I am going to take over soon hopefully. Hope DD2 is improving X
Dansmum - Sorry to hear than Dans leg is still poorly. Is your stable at your home or elsewhere? You must let us know how he is getting on. Sending him a big pat and a hug.:)
Today I have been off work again. I paid my usual £2. This morning I went shopping at Morrisons and bought just what I had on the list. OMG I spent £8.48 . My shopping was mainly for our Sunday get together. I think I will be spending more at next weeks shopping trip.
This afternoon I took my car to Quick fit and paid £29 to have the air con refilled. I consider that money well spent. I am really trying to keep on top of all the little jobs that need doing. Sidneysdad has brought some special glue home from work to stick some plastic back on my car seat. I really want to keep this car as long as possible.
Today I finished reading my "free" Prima magazine and really enjoyed it. I am going to cash in some more of my Tesco clubcard points for more magazine subscriptions. Also I`m going to pass the magazines onto some of the girls at work once I have read them instead of just binning them. :T
No more news for today I`m afraid except that we`ve just come back from the cinema after watching "Morning Glory" which was very good.
Hope you have all had a great day.

trixiepix- so jealous re the baking, wish I could do novelty cakes for my son - last year we had to buy 3 birthday cakes for him!
Dansmum - hug from us to Dan, hope he is better soon
I have been carless for nearly 4 weeks due to me having a wee accident at the start of January - good thing is, getting loads of exercise walking everywhere and saving a fortune in petrol (also not being able to nip to tesco for a "few" things helps!). Garage said today, should get my car back next week which is great timing for my son's half term hols.
Have been doing a major clearout, mostly clothes and toys as our house resembles a toy shop - have made a deal with my son that if he lets me sell all the large stuff he no longer plays with, he can get a trip to the toy shop to buy whatever he wants - he has agreed to me selling about a dozen large items so far which will probably be replaced with a car (yes, he is car mad and has buckets of them!)
Enough of me rabbiting on, hope you all have a great weekend xMFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200 -
Thanks everyone....
Dan is kept about 2 minutes from home on a nice yard with about 12 other horses. The only downside is the quarter mile walk to get into the field, keeps you fit. Mind you we blew into the field this morning - wind is really bad....
Vet has called back. We're rethinking the bathing regime and I've got to measure the wound to see if its healing. Will have to go there on Monday and pick up a few bits and bobs so that'll be a spends day. Fingers crossed. Its just very sore bless hime. All hugs for Dan passed on (not a hard job!)
Welsh mummy - well done with the clearoutIts a good feeling to get it done....Nice bribery too
Sidneysmum - good deal on the air con!! The only air con Vera has is open windows :rotfl: I'll miss that in the summer...
Hope you have a good weekend all.... We're off to bee and qoo tonight for fence panels so we can get that done over the next few days. Then bye bye trees and shrubs, dig up the bulbs/plants I want to keep and hello raised bed and slate gardenMFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15

welsh mummy - Great to hear from you again. What a good idea for getting without some of your sons toys. Are you selling the items or giving them away?
Dansmum - I am soo glad that Dan is only a short distance away especially now he has his injury. Your ideas for the garden sound great. The best thing I did was to get rid of our lawn. It was in dreadful condition as it was in shade from the garage. Anyway I have a nice gravel / slate area which look fab now. :T
Bit of a quiet day today at sidneyshouse. The weather has been awful - wet and windy - but we still managed to get out for a run for 40 mins this morning. Paid my usual £2. This afternoon I visited my elderly aunt and cousin.
I decided not to cook for our evening meal today so sidneysdad went and bought us both a doner kebab which has been just what the doctor ordered. We had thought about going out for a meal but going out again in the dreadful weather put us off. Anyway the kebabs are so massive we could have easily managed with one between us instead of one each.
I have been giving some random thought recently about starting a little business in the future. To cut a long story short, I am expecting some compensation money. I am not sure how much it will be- it might be a bit, it might be a lot. Anyhow I am turning a few thoughts over in my mind as to setting up a little business once I receive it. Watch this space
Hope you are all having a great money saving weekend.

Dansmum - once you are finished on your garden, you can come and do ours :rotfl:. Our garden looks so bad at the mo, mostly due to the huge amount of snow we had around christmastime
Sidneysmum - We are trying to sell the toys, have them in the local paper and gumtree - if I still can't rid of the by mid March, we have a local second hand toy sale (the only downside is that the committee take 30% of the sale price)
Bit of an expensive day, we bought a new car for my OH to replace his banger - but will be glad to see the back of it as it has cost us over £1200 in repairs in the last 6 months! We also took DS to the "Singing Kettle" (Scottish kids entertainment), my son wasn't impressed but I enjoyed myself and had a takeaway on the way home.
Quiet day planned tomorrow, quick (hopefully cheap) trip to Tesco's for the week's food and houseworkMFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200 -
Hi everyone,
Dansmum, how's Dan today??? - your garden plans sound fab, our garden is in a sorry state at the mo!! it's not much bigger than a postage stamp (well maybe a tad bigger!!), the girls have an 8ft trampoline in one corner, a 'proper' wooden wendy house (really cute but now nearing the end of it's life as even DD2 is gonna be a tad big for it this year, plus it's just been used for toy storage over the last year or so, the doors warped and the perspex windows cracked, painted beautifully still though ( i did it last year!!!!:rotfl:), the patio is tiny and i tend to have all of the flowers in pots due to children trampling over everything in the summer!!!! oh and btw could you put me on your 'make over the garden' queue after welsh mummy:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: - also would be fab if you wouldn't mind sharing your nut roast recipe - it is a tad tricky working around low carbs when you don't eat a great deal of meat which i don't ( was vegetarian until pregnant with DD2, when i craved pepperoni pizza!!)
By even mentioning the garden my mind is drifting to the summer months when i can get the washing outside to dry!!!! and the garden is in full bloom, i can't wait (cud do without mowing the lawn though!!)
Welshmummy, well done prising toys from DS, my girlies hate to get rid of anything, so it's always an undercover SAS type mission to clear things from their room (they never even realise things have gone) i've cleared DD2 wardrobe this week and have 2 black sacks of clothes to sort into charity shop/ebay/keep for DD1 (may get around to that today).
Sidneysmum, we sound on the same wavelength of starting a little business in the future, OH yesterday was saying how i should really push forward with my cake thing but i'm still a tad nervous taking it to the next level, i'm gonna give it some more thought , so same for me - watch this space!!
DD1 now has tonsilitis, so had to go to out of hours docs yesterday for anti-b's, at least DD1 is better and i'm getting my voice back after pharangitis (not sure if that's how u spell it!!!), food shopping was top end of budget but i had to include mid week shopping in it, so no savings there this week. Diet has been rubbish over the weekend as ended up having too many takeaways over the last couple of days (OH paid for), so back to low carb city today!
Ebay sales have been going well with some things selling for more than i expected them to, my b'card has £149 left to pay off of it and i'm hoping to clear that this month through ebay - will let you know how it goes!! (then it's on to paying off the 'big' credit cards - arrrrgggghhh )
Can i just say, how grateful i am to all of you that check in and comment, i've never been so focused as i am now on clearing my debts, saving and organising my life - hearing your stories of what's happening with your lives is such an inspiration as i so look forward to hearing what everyone has been up.
Have a fun dayxx

welshmummy - Great to hear from you. Bad news that you have had to have a major spend but hopefully you wont be having to fork out for any more repairs in the near future.
trixiepix - Hi. Great minds think alike. I cant wait to be pegging out my washing. I dont know how I used to manage when I had to dry washing for 6 adults.Pharingitis - My DS3 used to get this. The doctor told me it was aggravated by living near the Pennines and the fact that its always raining where we live!
I am glad you are benefitting from our little blog. All the comments really motivate me too. I feel really quite focussed and organised at the moment too.:A
Today has been a bit on the quiet side. I took Sid out for our usual morning run even though it was blowing a gale. Paid my daily £2. This afternoon we did a couple of jobs on the garden. I collected loads of leaves whilst sidneysdad went and bought a couple of bags of gravel and spread them out where needed on our pathways. We still have a lot of tidying up to do but the weather is atrocious. At least we got a bit done.
Sidneysdad also did some baking. He made fruit buns which are lovely and some chocolate muffins which are not. They just seem a bit short on the sugar. I have put them in the freezer and we are going to try them as a pudding with custard on them.
Had the kids round for tea today but we made it a short occasion as we were all really tired. We made a couple of pasta dishes - tuna and pasta and pasta with chorizo sausage. Also pizza and garlic bread. What bit is left has been put in tupperware for the freezer.
Hope everyone has had a good day today.
SidneysmumX0 -
Getting very motivated with the clearout (think you are all helping). Whilst my son was at nursery this afternoon, managed to tidy & clearout a few more cupboards. Found enough washing powder/liquid to last us a few years (this doesn't include the crate that we have in the attic!!).
Also discovered that I have 19 deodarants stashed in the attic in another crate - don't think I will be buying any for a while :rotfl:
Had a horrible day weather wise, was hoping to get the washing pegged outside in the sunshine but it rained all day instead
More items listed on ebay this evening, still a mountain to be done though, so must get on.MFW - currently at £23,610 (Aug 2014) MFD 20200
