Hello lovelies,
Dansmum,
You'll be glad to hear my ebay pile is gradually diminishing, i've sold quite a few bits over the weekend (mainly only for 99p though, but at least the 99p's will add up and the clutter is finally leaving the house) - i popped my head into the attic yesterday to clear a space to enable the boxes of xmas decorations to be packed away and realised there is still tons of stuff up there to go - aaaarrrrgghhhhh - it feel as though i am wading very slowly through treacle - perhaps this will teach me a lesson on not continuing to be a pack rat.
It was lovely hearing of your afternoon cantering through the forest yesterday, i conjured up a very serene picture of you enjoying the moment, at the same time i was up to my ankles in dust from behind my girls wardrobe after moving it across the room - not such a serene image - lol:rotfl:
Sidneysmum, i so want to come to your house for sunday lunch, it sounds fab, especially how close you all are. My dad died 2 weeks after DD1 was born (unexpectedly) so i am really close to my mum and similarly to you have focused totally on my girls (probably too much but i can't help myself as i love them soooooooooooooooooooo much), i only have a brother and he lives the other end of the country and we're not close, my mum was an only child and my dad had 1 brother who he rarely saw, my inlaws are a nightmare so as you can image there isn't a great deal of family around!!!
Well, seeing as i'm at work i best hop off and do some !!!
Have a fun filled day
xx

I love that !! Serene image.... I wishMy horse is very hairy, was very sweaty and his canter is by no means up to FEI Dressage standards!!!

rubytuesday - Lovely to hear from you and thanks for posting.:)
trixiepix - An invitation is cordially sent to you for Sunday lunch !! I am actually from a small family -parents, one brother, one aunty, one uncle and one cousin. I dont know how I ended up with such a large family!! We sound like we are both the same kind of mum. I just never stop thinking about my kids. I just cant wait for my son to come back from Afghanistan - I think its sometime in May
Good luck with your loft !!
Dansmum - Your horse sounds a very fine specimen !!:T
Today has been OK. I have been pondering that I need to make some changes to my life regarding my routines. I am still wasting such a lot of my time. I think its because I am stressed about certain things. I think I will be better once I start to face a few of my problems. I have a tendency to open a bottle of wine at night which does me no good. Instead I should be getting my mood lift in a more healthy way such as a bit more exercise! Anyway I am going to carry on thinking what I can do to improve things and hopefully I will have a few ideas by the end of the week.
Today I made a £100 payment off the mortgage from my current account. When pay day comes, I am going to pay anything that is left off the mortgage - not that I think there will be very much. I also put £20 on one side to pay a workman for a little job he did before Christmas. Can you believe he moved house before I could pay him. I have decided to drop the cash off at his mothers house.
Managed to use up a couple of items of toiletries - body lotion and perfume. :T I think I still have over a dozen bottles of body lotion left and about eight bottles of perfume. Anyway I havent bought any toiletries at all this year so far - and dont intend to !
Put some LPG in the car today. Spent £22.96. As I had a before and an after mileage record, I was able to work out that my car costs about 20p per mile to run - plus the petrol I use to start the car. I was actually a bit suprised. I thought it was going to be a bit cheaper. I have no option but to have a car for work so I am now going to try and use less mileage for other journeys - ie. Getting fuel when at the supermarket instead of a separate journey.
Had leftovers again today. We had "roast dinner pie" for our evening meal today. Basically all the leftovers from last night - new pots, carrots and peas mixed with gravy. I added some leftover turkey from Christmas and a great big pie crust. There is still enough left for another meal later in the week. It is really lush
Anyway enough of my ramblings for today. Hope you are all having a great day.

My boy is lovely thank you
But he's poorly today. I got him in yesterday and he's skinned the inside of one of his back legs.... Spending loads of time now washing it and trying to pack in sudocream to keep it clean. Luckily its not infected as was very fresh and someone kindly gave me some antibiotics and I have painkillers for him...:o I was going to have a ride out with one of the other owners today.....:(
Hve been spending again, but its groceries for me DansDad and the Long Suffering Dog so I reckon thats OK :rotfl:
Your roast dinner pie sounds nice! I could try that for vegetarians! (Me not DansDad) I have tofu (not to everyones taste I know) with tinned toms, vine toms, peppers, onions, mushrooms, pasta sauce and courgettes in my slow cooker which will be nice tonight with some veg and cheese ....MFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15

Hello everyone
Just stumbled on to this thread you are all doing great very inspiring, basically all what I am trying to do as well, although not always as as I would like to! trying not to spend any money not accounted for and saving as much as we can.
So far sorting out piles for bootfair and ebay not sure which to do yet
sidneysmum well done on you mortgage overpayments for this year I too have the sunday tea where all the family return I love doing it too highlight of my week, with my two grandchildren either 9 or 10 of us, we treated them to a holdiay last year in devon in a cottage took most of our own food and had a whale of a time had a games room right near beach, looking for something similar this year which is one of the reasons trying to save for extra spare cash been looking out for cheapish large properties but so so cheap this year:(

:DTrixiepix - Hi. Hope you have had a good day at work. I was really anxious about going to work myself today as I am having a couple of problems. BUT suprise, suprise, I had a great day. I hope tomorrow is great also.
Dansmum - Sorry to hear about your boy. Good job you can do a bit of first aid, vets fees must be horrendous. What breed is your dog? Sidney is a medium sized black and tan mong, and very beautiful.Your tea sound great. Hope its tasty.
patentgirl - Hello and welcome to our thread. So good to have another follower. With regard to items I want to sell, I always see if its worth selling on ebay first and if not, I then put it on one side for the car boot sale. Already our back bedroom has loads of stuff in it to sell.
Your holiday in Devon sounds great. You have given me food for thought. I might suggest a large cottage in this country and see what the reaction is. :T How many children do you have?
Today has been a work day. I made my £2 mortage payment today. With regard to the toiletries use up campaign, I managed to finish shampoo, lipstick and hand cream today. :T
Since the New Year I have streamlined my bathing routine. I have a shower every morning come what may, so I have been using up loads of bottles of shampoo, shower gel and body lotion that only had a small amount left in them. I am going to make sure that when I open a new item (whatever it is) I am going to use it up before I start another. The same applies to kitchen cleaning products. The underneath of the kitchen sink is looking quite in order as I have used up a few bottles with hardly anything in them. My cupboards are starting to look loads better.I have adopted the principle that I am using everything up before I buy a new replacement product.
Foodwise I am still using the dreaded leftovers. God knows where all this food is coming from as I havent bought any. For breakfast at work I had a sage and onion stuffing sandwich which was lush. Lunch was leftover homemade pea and ham soup. Tea was a microwave meal (sweet and sour) for me from the depths of the freezer. God knows where it even came from. Sidneysdad had homemade burgers and baked beans. The one thing I have noticed is that because I am not visiting the supermarket very much, I hardly have any carrier bags hanging around.
Anyway I hope you have all had a great money saving day.

Patentgirl, Ebay it if it doesnt go car boot it then if it still doesnt go charity shop it....
Devon is amazing DansDad and me and the Long Suffering Dawg go there every year in our little caravan. We stay a few miles out side of Dartmoor and spend most of our time up there.
We want to get as much behind us as we can then move there. May take a while, but we want to be retired when we live there to enjoy the countryside...:DMFW 2011 No. 161 £946.54/£2000 TargetApril 9/15March 14/15

mayling03 - Hello again and thanks for dropping by.
Dansmum - Thanks for sharing your plans for Devon with us all. What a wonderful life you could have. I would love to live in the countyside and have some chickens and grow some veg. I could do it here I supose in my current garden but it wouldn`t seem the same.:)
Today has been a work day and all has been OK. I have started to give some thought as to how I deal with stress in my life - wine and eating stodge. I know I need to change how I deal with any stress I encounter. I think I might have to be making a few changes soon!!
Made a further £2 payment off the mortgage today. I feel as though I have achieved something with my payments this month and I hope to keep doing the same in February. I dont think I will have any funds left in my current account at the end of the month so I will just keep paying my £2 a day.:)
We have had another day of leftovers today - Groan. Breakfast was natural yoghurt plus a sage and onion stuffing sandwich . Lush. Lunch as pate (leftover from Christmas) on toast. Tea was leftover roast dinner pie. What I love about roast dinner pie is that it is different every time I make it as we always have different leftovers.
I have been making a couple of lists at work today as things were pretty quiet. I did a bit of menu planning. I think our food stocks might last another month or even more. OMG. I know I need to get some shopping on Friday but its only for odds and sods to add to what I already have.
Anyway enough of my waffling for now. I hope you have all had a great day and saved plenty of money.

Hey Sidneysmum xx
My Long Suffering Dawg is a Bedlington x WhippetHe's a cool dude  He'll be 12 this year and I've had him since he was 7 weeks old :A
Danny's leg is still very sore poor boy. One of the wounds is still ealking, but we think its just natural drainage.... He's a bit lame still but am letting the air get to it today even though its so cold here, keeps trying to snow
DansDad has been trying out a new bike today and is in lurve :heartpuls I say if he wants it get it! As long as he can pay his bills then no problem
Got a shopping delivery last night enough to last 2 weeks at least I hope, the inventory is still going... I'm going to do a recce at the end of each month now to give me some idea where my money goes, something like mortgage OP's, Grocery spend, Horse spend (dont want to see that one!!) Fuel, Fripperies and do a meter reading at the end of each month so I know how much credit I still have.... Am keeping the spending diary and have all my receipts to hand.... Sorry waffling now
Anyway I managed to OP £75 today on the mortgage so takes that to £317.22 for January which I'm bloomin chuffed with
