    Hi ladies

Just a quick question, TENS machines. Can anyone recommend any or are they pretty all much and such the same?

    Thanks :D

I tried one that the hospital gave me when I was in labour with my first.

It's a shame the thread was disrupted and the FB group split off. A lot of valuable support has been lost because of that.

This morning I was cleaning my teeth and Charlotte smiled sweetly and said "eeeeh Mam, you big monstrosity":rotfl:

I had a Boots one which I 'used' for Henry's birth up to the EMCS but to be honest I never got above the lower levels so dont know how good it would be in extreme pain... (I have high pain threshold apparently- think thats the right way round)

I agree Becles with you about the thread :( and SS it's only slow cos everyone has left and doesnt post

I fully admit I find it better on facebook because I don't have to worry about my posts being deleted or weirdos stalking me.

Teeny, I never used a tens machine. But I get the feeling that they are all very similar and the only difference is the pads and stickyness of the pads. Also the ease of battery changes/charges and battery life? Beyond that... ah dunno, sorry.

I used to get stalked by weirdos on FB... never had it on MSE though!

That's why I don't have FB anymore. Sadly no one seems to be able to live without it in RL and I'd be sad to see the parents thread disappear over there completely.

    Has there been FB trouble?

FB is a closed group, even our FB friends can't see it. Sorry, went off to the Debenhams sale.

No facebook trouble. I am on facebook more often because several college mates are on there so we have FB chats as we sit and do homework/labreports/moaning sessions etc.

You could make up a completely annonomys facebook ID to post/read over there. I just can't get back into posting here, feel like I'm being watched and I can't say what want. Can't post pics etc. It's sad. Especially as now there are so many pregnancy threads but the parents thread got hammered so much by mods and rules... deleting posts, people reporting everything and anything, mods getting piffy about comments that had nothing to do with them. On facebook I know that I can say whatever, somone may take the hump, they will say so and its done with without it turning into an epic issue and folk getting banned.

I will try and get on here more often though.

Me too Tia, someone locally saw something I wrote and thought it was about them, but it wasn't, it was an extension of a comment on FB so they got half the story. To much hassle, also I can follow the conversations easier as they stay bunched together. And with the phone app I now go days without switching my laptop on.

I think it's just a different culture in a closed unmoderated group compared to a public moderated forum.

Posting on here makes you think twice about what you post, just in case you accidentally offend someone. I usually read back what I've said here before I post, as things that sound right in your head with imagined tone and body language, can be interpreted in a different way when they are just plain words on a screen. FB tends to be a place where you rattle off thoughts without really thinking about your audience.

I've noticed that in other situations such as my website and it's FB/Twitter pages and in real life with my boot camp friends and the FB group.

Social networking is really interesting with people behaviours. I'd love to study it further.
Here I go again on my own....

You know I'm beginning to wonder what's happened, like if everyone from here has been abducted by aliens or if they are just all talking on facebook instead or what.

Teenie I'm sorry I can't help. It was good old gas and air for me this last time, amazing stuff.

 Hi Delain - I have a habit of reading and intending to reply to stuff on here but then get side-tracked and then it seems to late to reply when I come back on.
I'm trying to limit my internet time in the day so I usually just have a quick look on fb and on here.

Teenie - I didn't use a TENS, like Delain it was gas and air for me.

Time to go and collect the big monsters :D, 3 o'clock comes around so quickly.

Eeeeeeeep I just burned my hand :( was trying to light a candle and managed to turn the lighter sideways into my hand :o

Still though, my list was a full page long and is entirely ticked off. I am now getting the start of my next assignment done but think I might stop now so when the troops return I am doing something "active" and they think I'm Supermum :rotfl:

    Afternoon.

Had a productive and nice weekend. Ikea trip resulting in major re-haul of Joes bedroom. OH built the stuff straight away and i did the re-organising.
We watched a film together on Saturday night (Greenzone) so not my kind of film, but i persevered to be nice and then even allowed Adult time (winking smiley)

Sunday OH took Joe to football without any moaning, I cooked a Sunday roast, whilst Joe played out. Alex was lovely all day and less demanding and less of a handful. And best of all, OH did the ironing . Whilst i snuggled with Joe on the couch watching his choice of DVD, Star Wars - The Phantom Menace (even though i'd watched it for the 10th time a few weeks ago on ITV1)

Today has seen me receiving a shocking car insurance renewal at £1050. They can naff off. Best i've found after doing all the comparison sites is £650, but only have to renew by 18 Feb, so at least deposit can wait until next payday. And my bank account is also £140 lighter after paying for a full car service. Sob, i'm mucho skint now.

And face book keeps asking me to stop script and freezing and it's doing my head in. That is all, I think. Hope all new and not so new babies are behaving and letting mummies have plenty of rest.

I couldn't get cashback with my car insurance, had to settle with £25 from Beat that Quote.
