Also, I hate word limits. "Your answer should be approximately 500 words long." I've said everything I want to say in 374 words; I now need to pad it out to make it acceptable and this is bobbins and I want to go to bed and not be trying to be more wordy when I actually think it's pretty good that I don't need to use tons of words to be clear.

Ooo thanks for all the ideas, all! You guys are fab :D. Tara, I bet the canvases are really cool because that's the sort of thing you can look at in 20 years and really cherish.

SS, I hated word counts at school. I find the British are much worse about it, though, as at my uni in the USA the only stuff we had length requirements on were major essays, not everyday stuff. That and we did it in pages, so you could totally tweak the margins to make it look longer :rotfl:.

Yes Aless, except now I can't remember what Ben actually said he'd painted, it's more of an abstract!

No I'm writing an assignment and it insists on a word limit. I think I've found a solution but it's tough going and I CBA right now but it needs to be finished.

Becles I'm fairly concise normally and I do much better when I don't have to stress about precisely how much to say. A couple of times I've gone on the typing rampage though and had to cut down, and I'm never sure which is harder work.

Edit: Aless I taught a lot of American students and had a little thing on my syllabus to let them know that if they went over their 3500 words they should change the font to Arial Narrow, if they were under to try Book Antiqua and any submission in Comic Sans MS would result in an automatic ten points off.
