Thanks for all your thoughts re age gaps. BigBird my thoughts are similiar to your brother but I think surely we can't be unlucky enough to have another reflux baby. Sadly google is telling me otherwise :-(.

Drum roll please ..... LO slept from 18.30 till 04.30 without a wake up!!!! Annoyingly dream feeding makes absolutely no difference with him so I just wait for the wake ups after putting him down in the evening. Please let that be repeated! Doubt it will but nice to have one night, especially as I had an early night so managed to get a decent sleep myself.

Did you all wean at 6 months? We've got another hosp appointment this week and I think they'll want to talk about early weaning for the reflux.

    Congrats missy!

Infacol is safe from birth although you need to use it before every feed. I echo what was said about baths. It was always the best relief for my LO and had horrendous wind, colic and reflux.

There really isn't much else you can do at that age apart from lots of cuddles. Good luck x

Congratulations on the 10 hours Doglover :T I never bothered with a dream feed as I was too scared that if I woke Joe up it'd take ages for him to go back to sleep. So I just did the early morning feeds and he gradually slept later and later. Fingers crossed your LO will start to do the same now.

We started weaning Joe a couple of weeks before he was 6 months old. I'd been giving him teething powders which he used to try to "munch" on, so I thought we might as well give it a go since he seemed receptive to solids. We took it very slowly at first and he was fine. In the last week or so he's really got the hang of feeding himself, so we just need to supervise now :)

And he took 5 little steps across the living room this morning :T But I missed them as I was in the shower :(

Congratulations on the new arrival missy. If you massage his tummy in a clockwise direction, this should help his digestion.

thanks lovelies, he managed to settle late last night skin to skin with OH, he was still very unsettled through the night, but then did the biggest poo/trump and proceeded to sleep for nearly 4 hours!!!!! yaaaaaay!! Honestly this is the hardest thing I have ever done with the lack of sleep from breast feeding and all the emotions, but he is so worth it, thank you so much for all your help, I'm sure I will be back soon to catch up more when he settles a bit more :) xxx
  • lol sounds like our samuel with the trumping sooo loud, glad you got some sleep. and just rememebr, (at some point) it does get easier.x

Doglover - yay for LO sleeping so long. I started weaning Poppy at 4 months as she was showing a lot of the signs but she has only just started getting the hang of it and isn't a big eater.

Bigbird - yay for Joe walking across the room, shame you missed it!

Missymoo - glad LO settled in the end. It definately does get easier, I was shocked at the begining how hard it all was but enjoy it now.

BigBird I'm planning on following the same technique as you re sleeping. I'm sure last night was a one off fluke but i'm gonna stay positive. Wow your LO is walking!! You'd better start nailing everything down and cushioning all sharp corners!!

Wendz did you start weaning poppy with baby rice mixed with milk/formular? Which brand?

Missy - glad you got some kip. Look forward to you coming back when you get a chance. Look after yourself during the first few weeks

Yes started with baby rice mixed with breast milk , can't remember what brand the baby rice was. Then after a few days started with pureed veg. I also tried her on baby porridge at 5 months which you just add water too which she loved but she reacted to it, we think she has a dairy allergy as it had milk in it.

Cheers Wendz! I guess all the baby rice are pretty much the same.

Well I'll see what the consultant says. Still only 3 months so a while yet even if it is early.
