I'd say it's about average then, my close friends little boy goes down at 8 and he's up at 5, then sleeps til about 8/9 again. I think as she gets older it'l gradually get less.
My other friends girls didn't start sleeping through the night until close to 6/7 months :eek:The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
Hi to all the newbies here.
I don't want to disappoint, but a lot of mum's brag about their babies sleeping through. My 10 month old has only slept through on a handful of occasions (most of which are due to sheer exhaustion having had no daytime naps the previous day) and many of my friends are still up 2 or 3 times a night. Yes, some babies do get into a rhythm early on but there are so many things that can upset this - colds, teething, growth spurts etc.We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0 -
My LO is 3 months old (13 weeks today) and he still wakes once in the night for a feed and thats in addition to a dreamfeed at 10.30/11pm. I am getting sick of hearing friends brag their LOs are sleeping 7 till 7 or even 10.30 till 7, which I would be more than happy with. But he must be hungry as he is draining 6 oz in the night. I guess I just have to wait it out and eventually he will sleep longer.Leo James arrived 7 days late on 26th August 2011 by emergency CS :j Such a cheeky chappy now :T0

Poppy is 7 months and no where near sleeping through. Doesn't bother me as much now though as I think I have just accepted it and she doesn't stay awake long so i still get a reasonable amount of sleep. She will get there when she is ready.0

Of course you didn't offend Giz as you said all babies are different ! Don't want those mums whose babies who don't sleep through to think they aren't normal.0

I don't normally do dream feed at 10.30 as seems to make no diff but he seemed restless last night so I did. He only managed about 2/3 of his bottle then when he woke usual time of 2 ish he only had about his bottle. I think I'll stick to avoiding it unless he actually wakes.
I'm happy with my lo's sleeping pattern because although he wakes once that is a massive improvement from not sleeping at all!
He's currently napping in his big cot in his own room! Trying to get him used to it0 -
i love the sleep conversations my DD1 is 9 YEAR old and she wakes up loads in the night and always has. now she goes to bed at 8pm falls asleep at about 8.30 then gets up for a wee a couple of times and is wake reading books in bed by 6am! she has always been an awful sleeper! but we have learnt to live with it:j Proud mum to Jade age 10 years and Baby Ellie born Christmas Day:eek: with a broke heart
Proven to be a little fighter and battling on with her heart condition :j

I agree, it seems logical to us to do a feed just before we go to bed to make them sleep longer, but I found it made no difference either and so dropped it quite early on. I guess its possible that even stirring them to dream feed upsets their normal sleeping pattern. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0
