Morning
Pleased Samuel is feeling better and yay for shoes that fit! I had severe swelling with Charlotte and could only fit my feet into some naff flip flops that I got free on a magazine. I was so thrilled when I could wear normal shoes again
Away for a couple of days. Going camping in a wigwam at Seahouses. Hope the weather is good to us!
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
Hi!
Beccles I hope the weather behaves. Have a great time!
I'm having heating on too but last night it suddenly got too hot so had to open windows! Not very MSE.
My little one seems to have gone backwards a bit in that he's really clingy and if I put him down (even so I can have a wee!) he screams the place down. He had jabs last week but didn't seem to suffer too badly and has picked up the snuffles. Not sure if they're related? Anyhow it means everything is taking forever and I'm having to leave him crying while I do the odd thing. It's horrible but if I don't we wouldn't eat or have anything to wear!
He's fast outgrowing his carry cot and Moses (9 weeks!) and I think I'll only have another month at most with them. He still won't sleep in them although I leave him to try and nap once a day at the mo.
I need help! What do I do?? Should I chill and just keep him sleeping with us? What about day time naps? Or should I start putting him in his big cot in his room? I bought a crib from flea bay but he hates that too. Should I perservere with that in our room or would it unsettle him more?
Help help help please. When I ask DH he just says "whatever you think".
Sorry for the self indulgent post. Hope you all have a good Sunday0 -
Well done Samuel for sleeping well!
Have a lovely trip away Becles!
Poppy started crawling yesterday! She has been going up on her hands and knees for a couple of weeks and sliding backwards but she crawled forwards for the first time and keeps doing it now, clever girl!0 -
Well done Poppy!0

I find Poppy a lot more clingy when she has the sniffles. Don't want to sound like your OH but it is what you think is best in regards to where LO sleeps. Personally i would just chill, took me a while to realise but they grow out of these things and there is no point in stressing yourself out.0

Hi Doglover, I've no useful advice on the sleeping as we're having our own issues with it too but just wanted to send you a (((hug))) as you sound like you need one x
Baby is sleeping great at night but during the day fights sleep constantly and only seems to nap while being held or sometimes in the car seat if we're out and about. Its frustrating as I can tell she is exhausted at times and she is tiring herself out even more with all the screaming:( Plus its almost impossible to get anything done so I've just had to leave her crying at times to put the wash on, get something to eat etc. I feel bad for doing it but don't see any other way. I've tried her in the sling to keep my hands free but she just screams so I've given up on that too. Its exhausting at times but we're really lucky that she sleeps through the night so I know I can't complain too much. She sleeps in either her carrycot or moses basket at the moment but i'm going to move her to the crib this week and try and start some kind of bedtime routine. Not sure how that will work out but we'll see how it goes anyways.
She had her first set of injections this week too and apart from feeling a bit sorry for herself the first night she has been fine. She has a wee cold again though too- I don't think its related to her jabs as everyone around us seems to be ill at the moment too. In other news we've been going to baby yoga for the past 3 weeks and baby absolutely loves it so I'd highly recommend it. It tires her out too so she always had a long afternoon nap afterwards which is bliss:D I've been doing the baby massage at home with her too and it really does seem to help with her digestion as she does the most enormous poos shortly afterwards lol I'm going to have a look around for some more local baby groups as its great to get out of the house with her.
Well done to Poppy on the crawling wendz- I can't believe my wee one will be doing that in a few months time! Its scart how quickly they seem to grow.
Becles- hope you enjoy your camping trip and have a wonderful time away.
Hope you're all having a good weekend and babies are all behaving themselves:cool: x:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0 -
Oh and on the subject of swollen ankles has anyone suffered from them after the birth? I didn't really have them during pregnancy but this past week I've noticed a bit of water retention in one and my ankles just feel a bit achy.:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0

Thanks Claireloo. Did you get taught massage?
Babe sleeps through night with a 2 o clock feed but only if he's on us!0 -

Oh poor you, that must be exhausting:( I really hope someone can offer you some words of wisdom soon. P still cries when we put her down in her basket at night although its got less and less over time. Its heartbreaking listening to her but I just soothe her and let her know I'm there without lifting her. She cries herself to sleep whether its in the basket or on us so while its upsetting to listen to I know lifting her back out won't change things. The more I hear how others are getting on though the more I realise how lucky we are in comparison really. Getting a good nights sleep makes coping in the day bearable for me, I really feel for those who don't have that luxury:(
We do a little bit of baby massage in the yoga class, so I just do those bits at home with her. There is a separate baby massage class run by the same person but as I travel 20 mins to the yoga I can't justify the expense of the second class so am looking for one closer to home. It definitely does help with the colic though which is why I'm so eager to continue with it.
Hows your wee man doing (sleeping problems aside)? Can you believe they are 2 months old already? x:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0
