Is he having a growth spurt MV? Or maybe teething is causing him to be grouchy?
At that age, Joe had about an hour in the morning from 9:30ish and then another hour from around 3 in the afternoon. I think he's about ready to drop to 1 nap now (at 10 months) as the morning nap begins more like 10:30 and he's a nightmare to get to sleep in the afternoon (but equally a nightmare at bedtime if he's been awake since before 12).
I envy Squeak's 3 hour nap too! Joe rarely sleeps for more than an hour at a time during the day. I'm hoping if I can get him to have one nap from around 12 then he'll sleep a bit longer, but getting him to stay awake that long in the morning without being Mr Grumpy Pants is proving difficult at the moment.
I'm seriously tempted to buy a lightweight stroller for Joe. Not very MSE when we have 2 buggies already! But the 3 wheeler is just so big to store, heavy to lift in and out of the car and wide when going around shops. The smaller buggy is lighter and narrower, but I have to faff about taking the hood off to get it to fold down and it doesn't always lock together properly when folded (I think I've damaged the locking mechanism at some point when I've been forcing it into my car's tiny boot

BB - it could be teething related I suppose.

Hi MV, how are you and Josh doing?
We usually get in two naps during the day - one will probably be for an hour and the other 2 hours. The wakeful gaps between naps are getting longer for us though. She used to be ready for her first day nap by 9.00 but now its rarely before 10.00 am. But sometimes she doesn't go down till lunchtime and so we have a one nap day.
We're still having rather inconsistent night patterns too. The idea that we would have ever got on the Gina Ford routine is hilarious. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0
