  • Giz sorry to hear you had a bad night :( Do you think she could be teething?? I know with ds 2 he was absolutley fine in the day with his first 2 teeth, but his sleep was sooo distutrbed-think we had 2 whole nights of him just waking-and he didnt seem to be in pain, just a bit restless if that makes sense??

well, after having that really bad night with max, the last 2 nights have been loads better! Thurs night he fell asleep 9.30 in his chair and i managed to take him up to bed and change him without him waking and he slept till 4am, wolfed a bottle then slept till 6.50! and last night he fell asleep again at 9.30, woke at 3 had a feed and then slept till 6! although he has been really grouchy this morning, but he's tired-usually his first nap of the day would be in the pushchair on the school run-unfortunatley theres not a lot i can do to change that though as he just falls asleep in the pushchair. But I couldn't take him out as ds 1 was in bed till 10am  and i dont like to get him up when he doesnt have to, and then i had to wait for my shoping to be delivered from sainsburys (11-12 slot and it comes at 11.50-typical ) and by the time i had put it away and got lunch, it was 1 and ds 1 has a party to go to at 3 so just going to wit until then to go out. Luckily he has fallen asleep in his chair with the help of my foot rocking it lol
I just hope it doesn't affect his sleep tonight.
Anyway, i hope you all have great days! I'm just hoping the rain stops before I have to go out!

Oh dear, Giz, sorry your night was bad :(.

CL, thanks! We didn't find out the sex either, so it was probably good Finn was a boy, as we had about a zillion girls names and probably would've taken ages to pick one!

PP, hope LO's thrush gets better.

Had a lazy day here, too, been lovely. Well, not so much the stupid rain!

Giz I totally sympathise. DS has been waking every couple of hours through the night for the last week or so having slept through really well since abut 10 weeks :(

When we go in there he doesn't seem to want anything, and he doesn't even really open his eyes. He just needs one of us there to pop his dummy back in and wait till he drops off again.

    I really hope it's just a phase!

Btw OH ordered a jumperoo on Friday following all the good things I had read about it :D

When I'm just balanced so precariously..
  • oooh speaking of jumperoo's, after all the chat about them the other day i had a moochy on google for one and saw that tesco direct had them for £62, which was the cheapest i could find if anyone else was interested. I can't afford to get one at the moment as we have had to replace our mattress last month and ds 1's this month-maybe next month though!!!

Me and ds 2 went and fed the ducks while ds 1 was at a party-something we havent done for ages, but will really make an effort to do it more often as we have a lovely lake here, that is really nice to walk round and the kids like feeding the ducks.

When I got home though, some random bloke was cutting my grass at the front of my house-the lady next door but one asked him to do it. She was out the front and said she had knocked to check it was ok, but i wasnt in-I wasn't happy as I had already arranged someone to come round and do it next week-hubby has been suffering a bit with his back, and as the ground is a bit uneven, it makes it really hard work to cut, and it hadn't been done for a while so it had got quite long, so we thought it would be easier to get someone to cut it and then be easier for us to maintain it.
I know I must seem like an ungrateful moo, but the person we had coming to do it would have left it neat and raked the grass up rather than just run the strimmer over it and leave it., so now we will have to do that as it's not worth getting someone to come and do it.
As well as that, I had to ring and cancel them as well. I did say to the neighbour i appreciated it being done, but would rather have known first as we had plans for it. I mean, just because i wasn't in doesn't give her the right to decide to cut my grass and give someone permission to go on my proeprty. For all she knew we might have wanted to recreate a jungle in the front garden!!
anyway, moan over lol Think I was just feeling whingy lol

On a funnier note, me and ds 2 went to get a fathers day card and he wanted to get a big one and there were 2 types. i showed him one, and his response was 'that ones boring' lol there were a couple of other people in the shop who laughed and the lady who owns the shop said 'thats it, tell me what you think' lol anyway it did good, and she gave us a discount on the card we did buy lol
Going to car boot tomorrow-if it's not raining! There is usually a stall selling local strawberries for £1 a large punnet, so want some of those, and to have a moochy for baby clothes etc I may even get lucky with a jumperoo lol

m&m - that's just weird that your neighbour got someone to cut your grass. And too right being annoyed if they left cuttings. At least if you are going to be rude and do something like that then do the job properly.

I've been to my parents today as we're off to inlaws for father's day. DD has cried loads. My mum and dad just have to say one word to her and she bursts out crying! What's that about?

She does it with anyone, but mum is really starting to take it personally. Is this something DD will grow out of?

Also I had to leave really early (7pm) cos of DD's new early bedtime. Think I'm going to have to have parents round here from now on.

Oh and I went to Asda specifically to get Dad a card and DD screamed the whole way around and I drove off having forgotten to buy a card (came out with biscuits and potatoes instead).

Gotta go DD is crying again :( looks like it's going to be a repeat of last night.

We seem to have hit a good phase re LO's sleep. Dropping her midnight feed for 3 nights in a row now and going back down without a whimper at her 3 am feed.

Our highchair arrived today, so typically OH ripped open all the packaging and put the thing together ignoring the instructions, leaving me to clear up all the plastic and boxes. Put LO in the chair and she loved it. But when we went to unbuckle her to put her down for a nap the clip broke. Called the store, who straight away offered to replace it, but then spent the rest of the morning taking it apart and trying to fit it back into the box. So annoying.

    Morning

m&m - that's really weird about the lawn. I'd be furious if someone did that to me.

Giz - they all go through funny clingy phases for no reason whatsoever. Charlotte went through a phase where she screamed hysterically if my Dad took his glasses off :rotfl:

Mi3 - how annoying with the high chair clip. Hope you get it sorted out.

We bought Josh one of those metal framed high sleeper beds with a futon underneath. It took about an hour to unpack as all the poles were wrapped in card and that polystyrene sheeting stuff. Then took another couple of hours to put it all together. Finally got it made and went to bolt the ladder on, and discovered the two fixing bolts were missing. MFI wanted us to dismantle the bed and pack it back up again, and they would send out a replacement bed. They said it wasn't possible just to send just the bolts. Decided that was too much hassle and just went and bought a couple of bolts instead.

Another quiet day here. Got to pop out this morning and do a quick audit, then just catching up on jobs around the house.

Have a good day all xx
Here I go again on my own....

Looks like I've had a similar experience to you guys - with a slightly better outcome.

My highchair arrived (wooden) and I put it together myself :j Think even OH was impressed. Anyway, 2 bolts were threaded. I had fears of them telling me I'd have to send the whole thing back which I was going to refuse to do after spending all the time building the thing :o it probably did take me considerably longer than OH would have.

Lucky for me they are just sending me the appropriate bolts. That was Mothercare. So very happy with their customer service.

Our ebay items ended last night. Made about £50 after fees. Not too good actually. Hubby had 2 items that should have made £20 each and one went for £5 and the other for £1.24. He's quite upset but he should have put it on a BIN if he didn't want them going for less. Lesson learned.

I'm happy with what my stuff went for though, mostly bits that would have gone in the bin otherwise, or freecycle if not sold.

Somebody must be looking down and laughing at us MSEr's with our flat packs this weekend. I wish I could have asked for them to send the clip but I would have needed to unstitch and re-sew the strap in order to fit it and I'm not doing that. Actually quite disappointed that it would snap so easily given its a top of the range highchair.

Quiet on here today, hope your LO's have all been out and about treating their fathers to a lovely time.

  • Hi,
I haven't been about much-at least i dont have loads to read back on lol
we went to car boot this morning but there weren't many sellers-it was the race for life in our town today so that as well as fathers day may have kept people away. Still managed to get a bag of baby clothes for Max-various sizes-vests, trousers, baby grows-all for £1! very :money:lol also picked up a ds (as in the game console not a child lol :rotfl:)for ds 2-the top screen on his was broken and him and ds 1 would argue over the other 1, so got this one for £10-only now they both want to play the same game at the same time-no pleasing some people
Stopped by focus as well as the on near us is closing on tues-picked up a couple of tins of paint to paint the front door, and a drawer unit with the drawers for the kitchen which was only £23 from £147!!! I only need the drawer boxes, but to get just those elsewhere cost at least £50-£60 from what i've seen so this was a cheaper way, and the bits i dont need can go on ebay!
And to top off my bargainous (is that a word??!! if not it should be!) day, I won a quinny buzz off ebay for £50!! I do like my mamas and papas pramette, but find it quite heavy and bulky to manouvere (sp?) especially if i have the car seat attached as a travel system-I've seem about 4 different people in the past week, all with differetn age/size babies, with the quinny buzz and they look so nippy-that and it was always the one i would 'test drive' round babies r us :o so i know it moves well!
anyway, maybe 'see' a few more of you about tomorrow!!
