I love hearing about LO's new words
OH cooked dinner yesterday and it was lovely. And he cooked on sunday  although he did say I had to do all the old washing up first because he can't cope with my messalthough to be fair when he cooks he washes up and tidies as well so that was nice. I feel a bit bad for being so mean about him now!
We don't have a walk in centre here either but you can ring anytime and ask to be put on the nurse's call back list and they assess whether you need an urgent appointment or not. If you do they get you in to see the duty doctor. I know that (here anyway) if Squeak had been regularly coughing herself sick we'd have an appointment within the hour. It's shocking if GP appointments there are that hard to get.
Squeak launched herself out of her cot bed on monday morning, and apparently on hers you can't drop the base without taking it to bed height, so OH had to drill more holes and make it drop as a cot. So we were in town today and I got him a little mug from Squeak that says 'My Daddy can fix anything' lol. Gotta love card factory, a mug, a teddy and a card for under £5!
Oh and DD1 can't spell. She made her Dad a keyring at her club last night that said 'happy farters day':eek:
Oh and we're near bournemouth. I was going to be discreet and say 'south coast' but then I realised I was posting about Bournemouth hospital on the PG thread :rotfl:Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

They won't even squeeze her in as an emergency as she isn't under 6 months!! She isn't even 'unwell'.. just mucusy and gross. .. and rolling about the floor like a big fat kelly eating every scrap of dirt she can find.. OH didn't put her on the floor because she was eating things.. the vacuum cleaner is IN this room so he could have just run that about a bit... gggrrr!!
he is however loading the dishwasher..
While I stripped our bed, and did 5 loads of washing.. and am just going to hang out the last 2.. I am NEARLY fed up!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
 Hi all
Just checking in to share my moment of madness/genius.:p
Those plastic toys with the music that is just that eeking bit too loud, with NO blinking volume control but they love so much so you can't remove batteries. Found the speaker hole, stuck sellotape/masking tape over it = lower volume = Sanity for mummy! :j:j:j:j0 -

i found immersing them in a bathtub full of water also has the desired effect!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Bobs a few of those that DD and DS had but the batteries run out and I havent put new ones in. Lucy had one toy a red bus thing that I just point blank refused to ever get out the toy cupboard. However I changed the batteries in the vibrating phone with no off switch without remembering how annoying it is, so now every time I throw something in the toy box it goes off.
I'm in Kent. Just over an hour to London from where I am.0 -

I'm a meany and rarely replace batteries in noisy toys lol My 2 year old godson comes round and every toy he picks up, he doesn't even try to make it work he just says 'needs batteries' because he knows lol
Funny, i've never met a mum on any site that is anywhere near me at all-either all up north or kent way (although the in laws live in kent) lol
6 week check went fine-Max does have thrush and we've got some drops so hopefully it wil clear up in a few days!0 -
Hi everyone, can I get some advice? My LO is 6 and a half months old. She loves her solids and gets a good mixture of fruit and veg, usually 8-10 different a day, but in small amounts in casserole, pasta, soups, etc. However she has reduced the BF she takes down to the point where today she only has had a morning BF and has refused the breast twice today. I think she will take a BF at bedtime. I know from expressing and how full my boobs feel that she is only taking about 5 oz in a feed. That's only 10 oz today. I have tried to give her a bottle every day this week and she has refused it. I give her Weetabix/Ready Brek with 5 oz formula for supper.
I'm back to work FT in 7 weeks and am doing some days between now and then so need her to take a bottle. Any ideas? I give her one yoghurt a day also, but I'm worried she isn't getting enough milk.0 -
have you tried giving her fluids in a beaker? I'd be more concerned about dehydration than the actual milk intake.
Milk can include rice pudding, semolina, yoghurts, cheese, jelly made up with milk, etc it doesn't HAVE to be milk.
Also when you express you don't get anywhere near as much as baby does when she feeds so while you express 5oz she might be getting 8 or 10oz.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

hmm I think I can remember OH getting it to do that - it was just so loud. It was a present from SIL so I gave it back to her when she had her most recent little one.
Pigpen how do you make jelly with milk? Not that I'm gonna do it, sounds yucky just interested
madness glad the check up went well, hopefully he'll be better soon x0
