PP... Daisy has had a cough for months and months and gets v wheezy. They think she has asthma and has 2 inhalers. They never offered AB's which is what I was expecting. Must add she only got the one inhaler at first! Hope squeak's cough gets sorted.

She isn't having inhalers either.. lol..

They prescribed inhalers for DD1 and DS2 and neither needed them.. so unless she is actually showing signs of a bacterial infection which she isn't taking her to docs seems pointless.. but she has coughed herself sick twice today.. I don't do sick!! I think she may have hayfever.. she has no temp, clear mucus, watery eyes, sneezing and snotting and this infernal cough! .. so it isn't an infection and she isn't wheezy.. just won't stop coughing and it is driving me crazy so goodness knows how she must feel!

giz.. I never weaned off a sippy cup.. they decided they didn't want them any more and then they sat at the table for every drink.. they are still not allowed drinks out of the kitchen. it is just a natural progression like weaning and potty training and learning to walk.. it all comes in its own time.

pigpen - you don't think she could be allergic to cats or something?!

our nuby cup is a super sipper, i might email them and say it leaks, think it is the shaped teat one you said leaked for you. i think he'd probably quite like the straw one now but i don't want to keep buying cups just to try! i am going to try him on some juice again though as he will only drink a tiny bit of water at a time.

L slept through til just after 5.30 and was happy chatting in the cot til i went in at 6.10 when he was just starting to get grouchy. he's now having a play before breakfast. He's still overtired overall but hopefully we can slowly catch up, the afternoon nap seems to make such a difference to him sleeping through, if he doesn't have at least an hour he's up crying in the night!

he's hilarious though, his new thing is to screech daddyyyyyyyyyyyyy at the top of his voice when he knows dh is in if i'm doing something he doesn't like such as changing his nappy etc!

Morrrrrrrning! Our latest trick is also the source of many tears when it goes wrong - he can climb on the couch by himself now and loves to roll around and generally be crazy. Sometimes he hits his head on the arm or back of the sofa (which is hard) or falls off, but I figure he'll learn to be more careful...(it's not a far fall and it's onto carpet before you all call SS on me :p).

Woke up with the dodgiest tummy, but seems better now. Better get moving, but I do wonder why we seem to be less rushed when DH ISN'T here?! Lol...

because aless ime anyway, having dhs around can be like an extra baby! and they get in the way!

L is getting super frustrated and screeching because he can't work out how to crawl forwards...he tries to go forwards and ends up pushing himself backwards!

    Morning

Hope the poorly ones feel better soon xx

We just had the basic Tommee Tippee cup for meals, but that could be used to "water" things with and was messy.

Charlotte had one with a seal in the sipper. I think that might have been Tommee Tippee as well. We tended to take that to places like Gran's as I didn't want her spraying other people's stuff and it was just left around the room while she was playing so it didn't matter if it got knocked over.

I find it easier to get on with stuff when I'm on my own as well! Must be a theory in there somewhere :D

Busy day with work today and I've got some petunias that really need planting out as they are starting to flower in the plug tray :o

Hope everyone has a good day xx
Here I go again on my own....

Morning all. My LO always wakes at 4.30am and won't settle until I bring her into our bed. Is she likely to grow out of waking at this time? Now when she wakes in her cot she gets up on her hands and knees and then she thinks she is stuck, so cries.

Today is the day! Laser teeth whitening at lunchtime! I hope it's good. I'll have to stay off the red wine now.

Wow, rach, that's good that L can say Daddy. Joe's not even close to being able to form words.

I have DH at home today as Joe normally goes to the out-laws on a Tuesday but they are away so he's on childcare duty. I'd have been better off taking the day off myself. I was hoping to start work early since we don't need to get Joe ready and out the door by 7:45. But no, I got to my desk at the same time I would've if I'd walked Joe to the childminder! And he's already been up and disturbed me once as Joe is being whingy and wouldn't eat his breakfast. I can see this is going to be a pattern for the day so I'm going to get chuff all done.

Joe has woken up around 11pm for the last couple of nights and been really hard to settle. The first night we ended up giving him a bottle, but I don't really want to get him into a habit of having a bottle at that time. I'm hoping last night's wake up was because he was overtired as he refused to have an afternoon nap when he was with the CM. Got my fingers crossed that he doesn't keep us up tonight as I have a 130 mile drive to the office for a meeting in the morning and really don't want to be doing that if I'm tired.

wow bigbird 130 miles, do you mainly work from home? hope daddy does ok today, mine seems much better when i'm not around! Yes L is good with his babbling, I was a v early talker too (haven't shut up since lol), you could hold a conversation with me by a year my mum says, but I wasn't working on the walking or crawling because of my hips so i guess all my energy went into the speech! I think they're all different, some do some things faster and other things slower, L's not pulling himself up at all yet. I think dh has helped with the speech stuff as he's always talking to him and getting him to repeat back etc.

he's down for a nap at the moment so I'm going to sort some fd cards etc.

Yes, I normally work from home. I only need to go up to the office about once a month so it's not too bad.

DH has now been up for the second time and I've only been working (or trying to) for just over an hour... He does do much better when I'm not around, he just seems to need to ask me about everything if I'm here instead of just following his instincts.

Joe's a mover. He's only just starting to master sitting on his own as he wants to be on the floor and moving around. He's not worked out how to go forwards yet, but he can reverse and turn around so he's pretty good at getting about. He's funny when he sees the cats though as he's desperate to get at them and gets all excited - but he forgets how to move and ends up just lying on his tummy, waving his arms and legs around and not getting anywhere :rotfl:

Definitely. Yesterday I had DD fed, clean, extra nap after waking and was out of the house by 9. Today it's gone 9 and despite waking up the same time, DD hasn't had her normal nap after her breakfast feed (due to disruption by OH) and she's not been bathed yet (because being OH's day off he likes to bath her...but it's "I'll do it in a minute"..then it's several hours later). OH also seems to make so much mess when he's home. I'm always tidying up after him.

Good luck with that. Sounds horrible to me :s

I'm going to the dentist right now in fact :( Am scared sh*tless even though it's just a check up for now.

Have a good day ladies - make the most of the weather today, looks like it's going to be a nice one (for southeast anyway).
