Yes, I normally work from home. I only need to go up to the office about once a month so it's not too bad.

DH has now been up for the second time and I've only been working (or trying to) for just over an hour... He does do much better when I'm not around, he just seems to need to ask me about everything if I'm here instead of just following his instincts.

Joe's a mover. He's only just starting to master sitting on his own as he wants to be on the floor and moving around. He's not worked out how to go forwards yet, but he can reverse and turn around so he's pretty good at getting about. He's funny when he sees the cats though as he's desperate to get at them and gets all excited - but he forgets how to move and ends up just lying on his tummy, waving his arms and legs around and not getting anywhere :rotfl:
L can't go forwards either and is really frustrated as he ends up going backwards. there have been lots of tears recently!

He has also started crying every time I laugh :( not sure if this is common, i do cackle a bit and think perhaps he can't quite read my emotions?!

he's just woken and sounds happy so I'll go and get him and think we'll have a bit of a walk to the swings as I'm finding getting out before lunch helps him sleep a bit better (well, that's the theory!)

SE and London ladies giz, mi3, sir m, mv, jennynoo (anyone i've missed?) do you fancy a meet at some point? was thinking clapham junction are could be quite easy for most of us to get to and we can pretend to be yummy mummies? Sir M, Mi3 and I are meeting tomorrow i think so perhaps we can chat about it?

pigpen - you don't think she could be allergic to cats or something?!

he's hilarious though, his new thing is to screech daddyyyyyyyyyyyyy at the top of his voice when he knows dh is in if i'm doing something he doesn't like such as changing his nappy etc!

Squeak says a couple of words.. daddy, mama, no, dinner! (VERY over-used!) cat and miaow and hooray while madly clapping.. We are working on SSSSssshhhhhhhh , yes and byebye.. ;)

If she is alleric to cats she best quickly get unallergic as they are going nowhere! The coughing was horrendous again last night but she has started ramming her hands down her throat when she coughs so there is twice as much sick.. I just drag them out but OH doesn't.. but then he gets to clean her up lol... and refeed her! I am off to get piriton today.. by 8:45 there were no doctors appointments for today so we'll just try wha comes next.. at least then I can say we have tried this this and this.. IF we ever do manage an appointment.

Those minor injuries places??? They aren't for people who are unwell.. they do a primary assessment and tell you to see your GP or send you to A&E.

No, not those, we have one of those too but we have a walk in medical centre, it's attached to a GPs surgery and you can see a GP or nurse without appointment. there are a few around here. DH went at 7pm on christmas eve with tonsilitis as it's open 8-8 365 days a year

  • Morning Everyone!!

Well i've had a fairly good few days after my stressing last week! I've been making a concious effort to count to 10 (or 100 lol) if I start to feel a bit wound up and it is helping.

I've also cleared away some of the junk that was stressing me out - mainly hubby's fishing stuff that was left in the conservatory and all over the table-solved that by getting an empty storage box, swiping it all off the table in one swift movement and dumping it in the shed lol

We have our 6 week check today, and i'm fairly certain Max has got thrush in his mouth. Noticed white spots on his tongue on friday and just thought it was where he had sicked a bit and it was stuck if you know what I mean, but when I managed to get a good look in his mouth on sunday it's really quite thick on the back of his tongue and he has afew spots on the roof of his mouth towards the back. As we were already seeing the dr today i thought I would wait to see someone as it doesn't seem to be bothering him too much.
Although looking on good old google it did say that they may not want to feed as much if it is irritating them-Max is a little and often feeder (very. very rarely takes more than 3oz a feed, and about every 2 hours) and will keep stopping and starting-which is fine if that is just his 'style' but not if it's only because his mouth is irritating him and he's only feeding enough to take the initial hunger pangs away.
He also sometimes pulls back when feeding and lets out a cry, which I had put down to wind, and feel awful that it might not have been now. Hopefully we can get it sorted soon.

Also ds 1 has hurt his finger-he said yesterday that it hurt, but i couldnt see anything so me being meany mummy told him to stop whinging and making a fuss ( he was still outside playing football etc, and didn't yell i pain when i touched it) but this morning it is a bit swollen-took ages before he 'remembered' how he did it-falling on it at playtime yesterday. makes me suspisious as usually when he 'can't remember' how he got an injury-bruise, scrap etc it usually ends up that it was down to his 'friend'-who I would rather wasn't his friend, but i think ds 1 is worried i will ban him from playing with him at school -which if i could i would!!!- as i have already banned him from playing with him out of school (he lives at the end of our road-lucky us) but thats another story lol

Where is everyone else from?? I see a few from the London area-I'm in Gloucestershire.

Anyway I hope you all have the sunshine we have today!!!

    Morning everyone,

Glad you are feeling better madnessandmayhem. Hope all goes well at 6 week check, at least if it is thrush you can get it diagnosed and sorted!

I am living in Hemel Hempstead so not far north of London. Lived in West London a couple of years ago and my work is in central London.

Poppy had another night of not going to sleep till nearly 2 am after hours of feeding , cuddling etc! I don't know how to get her body clock to go forward, have tried gettin gher up earlier today but she is now napping anyway so don't know if it will do any good.
  • Sorry Wendz, I haven't got any advice apart from, i'm sure she will adjust her bodyclock herself-as i've found with all 3 of mine that sometimes no matter how much you change their routine they still go with the old one-a late night for my older 2 doesn't necessarily mean a lie in (well ds 1 will, but thats regardless of how early or late he goes to bed lol) Ds 2 will still be up about 6.30 lol and apart from last night, if i feed max later he will still wake up around 12-12.30 lol I hope she starts going to bed at a decent time for you soon-although you could have a party girl on your hands! lol

Max usually has his 'last' feed (not really a last one as it just feels like a constant cycle lol) and goes up to bed around 8.30-9ish and will then wake around 12-12.30 (this is the longest he goes out of the whole day between feeds!), but i can take a good hour for him to feed-usually only around 2 1/2-3 oz- and then go back to sleep. Sometimes he just seems really wide awake and not really wanting anything other than to NOT go in his moses basket lol

he will then wake up around 3.30-4ish for another 2 1/2-3oz feed and this one doesn't usually take as long to settle him back, but can sometimes.

Then we are usually up around 6ish for yet another feed.

Last night though he didn't settle and go to bed till about 10 and then went until 2.30 (which is the longest he has ever gone in one go!) but then it was at least 3.30 before he was asleep again and then he was awake at 5 and we were up at 6.

As awake as he is and as tempted as i am sometimes to bring him downstairs so i can at least watch tv, we have always had the rule that once they are 'in bed' the don't come down till morning (unless of course they are ill) and the older 2 are so good at going to bed and staying there-they only get up for the toilet, and once they are in bed they know they are there for the night so dont even try it on lol I'm sure this is because we have been strict about this from early on.

I'm really hoping Max will start to go a bit longer between feeds and take a bit more with each one, but he's still only little and i'm sure it will happen sooner or later! x
