Hello ladies,
Rach - Sorry to hear about DS sleeping issuesThat sounds awful - I hope you find a resolution soon.
Dusty and Wendz - Nice to see you and good to see LOs doing well. Time flies doesn't it?? I can't believe DD is 8 weeks on Saturday!
We had our 6-8 week check up yesterday and all was fine except for DD's feet still turning inwards, which was picked up on at the post birth check at the hospital. I have to keep trying to stretch them but if that doesn't work, the GP wants to refer her for physiotherapy.
We're settling into a routine quite nicely, and DD is only waking the once now from when she goes down at 11pm and when she gets up at 7am. She doesn't take much at the middle of the night feed, so I'm taking that as a good sign. I need to be like Fuzz and Rach and keep DD in her room for the night feed. At the mo, I'm bringing her downstairs so I can watch a bit of telly while she's guzzlingI need to get a nice small chair for her room so I've got something to sit on.
Right I've got an hour before DD will be up from her lunchtime nap, so better get some lunch sorted. Does anyone else run out of time to eat? I've given up eating dinner as by the time I've bathed, fed and put DD to bed, and sorted the dog out, I'm too knackered and cba to do something for myself!0 -
Time really does fly! Seems to be going very quick.
Glad all is well with your LO apart from the feet but at least they are doing something about it.
OH andi keep forgetting to make ourselves food, at least that is one way to drop the baby weight lol.0 -
Hello
I'm glad everyone is well, it's a shame that LO is not sleeping Rach, I second the ready brek or wetabix before bed. Give it a go, especially if you eat dinner early.
Bah it's cold and wet.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Bobs napping, hopefully after a late nap he'll go to bed later tonight, fingercrossed. I can do a 6am start it means I nice amount of time to get everything ready for school - I can't do 5am starts I just get grumpy.
Rach I don't know how you're coping, except that you have to, hope he sleeps better soon for you.
Bob ate a rice cake this afternoon, after me saying he doesn't put it in his mouth, only about a 1/4 of it the rest just fell to pieces all over him but at least its something else I can give him to hold and occupy himself with - toys just don't cut it.
I've not given any of mine supper they are just too tired of an evening to eat it but I think thats because they have all been early risers. DS was the worst and Bob used to sleep till closer to 7am before they started sharing.0 -
Hi!:)
rach... a few of the ladies on here/used to be on here know I've been through an awful time with Daisy and her lack of sleep. She hit 3 months and that was it... never to sleep again:mad: We tried EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING. We gave her porridge for supper and sadly that didn't work. She just didn't want to sleep. I'm grateful for my internet random strange ladies from here on FB who had to put up with me!!
Anyway I'd like to report that Daisy has had about 3 full nights sleep recently:D:D:D Don't tell her I told you;)
So when people say "it will get better" and you want to smack them... it really does get better.
I'm still very far away from zombie status but we're getting there:)
Can't tell you what the magical answer is but Daisy has problems with breathing and started having an inhaler which seems to help. She's also always been very alert from day 1 and it seems she just wants to be up and taking in the world... so we have endless amounts of "older" toys, books etc to keep her brain stimulated during the day. We also go for a walk before bedtime.
Sorry for the big blabbering post but I hope it helps rach. I know EXACTLY how you feel rach... after all sleep deprivation is a form of torture and us mummies still have to carry on after such torture!!
Off to start my chinese feast for later....BLOWINGBUBBLES:kisses2: SMARTIE120 -
Thanks everyone. I have been very anti it but i think we will give some form of controlled crying a go, starting at the weekend when dh will help (or so he says). I'd never leave him for ages but currently hardly leave him at all, which i think he is now wise to. I am really starting to break down and i can't cope without more sleep soon.
I do think perhaps his 2nd tooth is about to cut though as he's not keen on boob today and is a bit grouchy, just how he was when the first one was getting ready to cut. plus he's drooling so much his whole t shirt front is soaked!Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
I was in getting Juliet weighed today and she is exactly 16 lbs at 24 weeks, so she is just above average.
Rach, I'm sure you are bombarded with suggestions to improve sleeping, but here is another. Our LO would sleep in our bed for 10-12 hours without waking and seemed to love the quilt and pillow. We got a cot quilt and pillow in Ikea and tuck some of the quilt under the mattress at the bottom end of the cot, so she can't pull it over her face. She loves it and her sleeping has definitely improved.

It may sound like a stupid idea, but I tried everything to get more sleep!0 -
ooh lots of familiar faces and activity..hello everyone!
Smartie, Fuzz, Dusty..great to see you all!
rach - hope things start to improve soon on the sleeping front.
Sammy - great news that Esme is putting on weight nicelyGood work!
Josh is 17 weeks on Friday and now weighs a hefty 16lbs 12 oz! He is getting very heavy to carry and my poor back is taking the brunt of it.
I went to look at a nursery today, it's the one that i really want Josh to go to. Unfortunately it has a 12 month plus waiting list and costs £1350 a month  The joy of living in london!
I'm due back at work in jan, but I'm still not 100% convinced I'll be going back..mostly for financial reasons, but also because I was getting pretty sick of the place by the time I went on ML, and the thought of going back now leaves me a bit cold! We'll see....
I'm broody for no 2 too. Have instructed OH that we will have to crack on with it next year as I'm hurtling towards 40, and want to get another one in before I'm too old!
Hope everyone is wellMetranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Hi all, I am wandering over fresh from the Pregnancy Thread to hopefully pick up some tips
Baby Alexander was born on 6th May 2011, at 1.09pm, weighing 11lbs. He was delivered by low cephalic forceps eventually as I couldn't get him out (understandably) and he had come down as far as he could. The delivery was very traumatic for me (and his daddy) and it will be a while before I can move on from it. I suffered a third degree tear, have hideous back pain, but apart from that I am loving being a mummy. It's true when people say it's all worth it. I am going to write my birth story down soon as think it will help to close the book on it and move on.
I am breastfeeding DS now after a shaky start. The forceps had made his upper lip swollen so he wasn't able to latch on in hospital, so had to have some formula. I have also given him some formula to 'top up' as I worried I wasn't producing enough yet. My milk hasn't come in and he's a huge baby, and I worried I can't satisfy him. Although I am determined to do it and DS is able to latch on now and is very interested. He gets frustrated though and often falls asleep when suckling. But we're getting the hang of it I think. He's had two good BF today and I am going to express some in a bit as need to go over his grandparents so I can have a bath to soothe my stitches
Will have a read back when I get a chance0
