I am due back to work in December not thinking about it until then.
If you can think it........it will happen
  • Hi everyone!!!

Also moving across from the pregnancy thread (although i have posted here a couple of times!)

DS 3, Max was born on 30th April after a rather speedy labour!!! Getting on with breastfeeding, although I had forgotten how much hard work it is!

DS 1 is 8, and DS 2 was 4 on sunday and both are rather underwhelmed by their new brother
Just trying to adapt to having 3 (OMG as if i have 3 children ) lol

digitalphase I also needed forceps with ds 2 and I (along with dh) also found it a very traumatic experience. After having an emergency c-section with ds 1 , this time i was desperate for a c section as i would rather that than risk having a forceps delivery again, but my consultant wouldnt agree to it. Max was 3 weeks early and my midwife 2 days before had thought he was breech so i was scanned at the hospital when i was in labour and I was praying that he would be breech so i could have a c-section (yes, i know some people would think this is a silly reaction but i was so terrified of things endiing up needing forceps) and when they discovered he was head down i burst in to tears-in the end though Max came so quick I didn't even have time for any pain relief, and it couldnt have been more different from the other 2. But noth dh and myself were terrified throughout the pregnancy as we both had very poor memories from bith previous deliveries.

It might help to talk the labour/birth over with your midwife x if you want someone to chat to, feel free to pm me xx and MASSIVE congratulations on Alexander!!! xx

Anyway, i'm sure I will become a regular here, asking for advice from the wise!! xx

Massive congratulations to Digital and madnessandmayhem! :)

Digital - sorry your birth was traumatic. I think that many births are, and I also found writing my birth story helped me to put everything into perspective. It's also good as you do start to forget stuff, so having it written down you can refer to it if you ever want to.

Hi Tinks! Sorry you and OH aren't speaking..nothing serious I hope!

I can't see us trying again until well into next year, I think it's still a bit early for me, and I also think that I'd just get obsessed again and get out the CB fertility monitor!

OH has said he doesn't want me to use it next time as it put too much pressure on us, but the thing is..IT WORKED! (and first time we used it too!)

Boot camp sounds interesting Becles. What do you get up to?

It varies from class to class depending on how many turn up, weather, other people using the park etc.

We usually do a ½-1 mile jog to warm up, then about 30-40 mins of intensive work, something fun and then cool down and stretch out.

It's all interval training, so you do a blast of cardio, then some muscle work, then cardio, then muscle work and so on.

Yesterday we did the jog, then split into two groups. My group had hand weights and we went through a series of upper body toning exercises, with shuttle runs and lunges in between. Then we all did a series of sit ups and stuff to tone our core muscles. We swapped equipment and our group did a set of exercises with a medicine ball with more upper body work and some squats and stuff, again with runs in between. Then some more core muscle toning. We had a silly game similar to rounders to finish off, which was just a mad giggle but hard work as well, then cooled down and stretched.

It's all ladies and it's really good fun. I've never really enjoyed exercise but I love this. Recently someone had a phone with a calorie counter strapped on and worked out that we burn around 700 calories per session

Is Bob the only baby that doesn't like rice cakes?

Charlotte eats pretty much anything but she wouldn't entertain rice cakes. They do taste minging mind :o

Hello to the new mummies - lovely to have you with us :j

Sorry to hear of the sleeping problems. I did sort of controlled crying with mine. If they were screaming I'd pick them up and soothe them, but if they were just chuntering on and fighting sleep, I'd just leave them to get on with it and eventually they dropped off.
Here I go again on my own....

Sounds good Becles. I need something like that! I had lost 30 lbs before I got preggers and went from a size 12-14 to 8-10, but went a bit mental with eating whatever I wanted when pregnant. Everyone kept saying up to the point of being 10 days overdue that I was all bump and I hadn't put on any weight. Liars! Here I am 5 months later nearly 20 lbs heavier than when I got pregnant.

With pregnancy no. 2 (hopefully happening after Christmas!) I will be more restrained. There is absolutlely no need for 4 Ice Cream Mars a day for the last 3 months (I'm really not exaggerating!)

Are you me???!!! lol The past month or so, i've had a real thing for mars ice creams-the shop down the road had the multi packs on offer, and i just couldn't resist :o I ought to now though....can't use pregnancy as an excuse anymore lol Although I did lose 3 1/2 stone in the first 3 months of my pregnancy and only put about 1 1/2-2 stone of that back on during the pregnancy-haven't been brave enough to weigh myself since having bubs though :o

But I am determined to be good this time round-after both the other 2 i carried on eating for 2 and out on more and more weight, and i really dont want to put on anymore-I NEED to lose it!!! I've always said pregnancy is my best diet, as i feel so ill in the begining that i can't eat much, and i swear my metabolism goes into overdrive when i'm pregnant-but we won't be having anymore, so I guess i'm gonna have to get my backside into gear to shift it and keep it off :rotfl:

Hi Digital and Madness - great to see you.

I'm sorry Digital, but I still can't get over an 11lb baby at birth. Hats off to you. Were you measuring big beforehand? I hope you and baby are settling into your new house well :)

I gave DD her first 2 ounces of cooled boiled water today and it went down well. I was expecting her to pull a face and spit it out, like she does with her dummy when she realises theres no milk in there! But she drank it. I might try again tomorrow I think.

I took advantage of the 10% off pushchairs at Mothercare and bought this stroller to take on holidays. I know I'm going to miss by big pram when we go, but I can't cope if Easyjet broke it!:

CL- thanks for the suggestion but i think the way he rolls about now it'd be dangerous. He seems happy in his sleeping bag, he just doesn't seem to be able to settle back to sleep after the wakings, usually the middle of the night ones, i guess he's relatively refreshed but not had enough sleep to wake up. I've always moved the duvet and pillows away when he's in bed with me.

digital - I also had a v traumatic birth experience and some complications with ds stopping breathing later that night. I really struggled to get over it to the point it was stopping me being able to put ds in his own room etc. I went to the gp and got referred for counselling which has helped.

I think he may be getting ready to cut another tooth (we have one bottom one cut through but not really showing yet) as he's drooling, moaning when feeding and biting everything. Plus not feeding at all well. :( Hardly touched his tea tonight either which is very unlike him!

Thanks for the welcome ladies. Its so interesting to hear about your LOs and to see there is light at the end of the tunnel lol.

When did you hit a routine with your little ones? DS is 6 weeks now And is averaging 5oz every 4 hours but sometimes he'll go 5 or even 6 hours to feed. This means tho that he isn't in a proper routine and not feeding at the same times every day, just when he wakes. I bath him every night, (he hates it so in trying to get him used to it) but a bath, change and feed knocks him out for hours so it's worth doing as late as possible. Last nite was 10pm Which isn't ideal for me and I think too late really and tonite was 8pm. Should he be bathed at the same time every nite?

I also think I need to up him to 6oz as he has been draining his bottles lately so that may put him on longer

    morning all

    welcome digital and madness x

dusty you can always up it and if he leaves an oz its no big deal but he has the option to take more then.

Well Bob went to bed at 6:45pm a whole hour later than he has recently and he still woke at 5am grrr, just chatting away to himself -I put his dummy in twice cos I didn't want him waking DS, then he went back to sleep till 6:30am so a vast improvement and fingers crossed we can stick to the later bed time today. Gonna have to deal with some grump during the day so he has his nap later I think and is happier in the evening so stays up. He napped till 3:30pm yesterday and then he didn't fall asleep during his last bottle like he normally does.

Best go sort his breakfast before the school run.
