    Hello all,

I recognise a few of you from the pregnancy thread too.

My little one is 3 weeks old today. Seems to be going really quick. I have found it quite hard although she is generally a good baby. I am bfing and she wants to eat a lot of the time. She has been like this from near the begining so don't just think is a growth spurt unfortunately. I am hoping when her stomach grows she will go a bit longer.

Anyway hope you are all having a good day.

Another really busy day with work!

Went to boot camp this evening, then went round to watch the second half of Josh's football match. His team won 4-1 this evening and have been promoted :j
Here I go again on my own....

Morning everyone. Another 6am start:(. How do you explain to a 5 month old you would like them to lie in until 8am please!

Boot camp sounds interesting Becles. What do you get up to?

    morning all

I had a bad night with LO. I am getting to the end of my tether with it now. He's 7.5 months and has never slept through the night. I don't even mind doing one night feed if he needs it but last night he went down at 7pm (only had to go in once as he cried a bit at the start but once I gave him back his dummy and turned him back over he was fine and settled), then woke just before 12 and then I think it was 2, and then 4 when he didn't resettle and cried every time i left the room so i ended up bringing him into bed but he didn't sleep til after 5. Then after he'd woken this morning when dh came in (he's sleeping in the spare room) he said LO was peering over the edge of the bed and i was asleep as I had dropped back off. I am seriously exhausted and am meant to be doing my self employed work in the evenings which is just not happening but they're expecting a report from me soon.

sorry for moaning, just think we are going to have to get tough as soft measures aren't working.

Oh rach thats rough:( How long do you leave him before you go into him???
DD was like that but I'm not nice if I'm tired:oso we started only going to her when she cried and only if it was a proper cry;), we put her back on her back, shove her dummy back in & place a hand on her chest to help her feel more secure & she usually drops off, if she's not crying then she can gurgle to herself and play with her comforter and roll herself around, although she does usually drop off again for another hour or so:) I won't lie, it was difficult/horrible to start with coz I just wanted to cuddle her but figured I'd be making a rod for my own back if I did that!
She sleeps 8pm til around 6:30am now only unsettled nights we have now are if she's poorly or teething.

Rach.. Have you tried stuffing him full of porridge or weeabix before bed? if he is wanting feeding that often it may just be that he is hungry. Squeak has a bowl of ready brek and a yoghurt before she goes up about 8 and she will sleep a full 12 hours!. I used to give DD1 weetabix about 2am when she woke.. she was a tiny scrawny thing and always unwell. I can't wait to get the girls room sorted as Squeak is moving in there as soon as it is done. she is waking when we go to bed now which I can't stand.. she does go back over if ignored but will cry for about 15 minutes. I could never leave them crying for hours and hours it is just mean and makes everyone miserable. Oh, we just had to ake Squeak out of the sleeping bag as well she hated being restricted.. she likes to wave her legs in the air while sleeping for some reason, that saw an immediate improvement. i think they sometimes just get into the habit of waking as well which usually coincides with a leap in development.

Its all gone wrong, Bob keeps waking up at 5am, I could probably get him to settle again but his stirring wakes DS who make such a noise getting down from the top bunk to go to the toilet that Bob fully wakes up. Then he wants to go to bed at 5pm and there is no keeping him awake. and OMG can he really scream still, not heard it for a while but this morning was crazy. I think its the birds making him stir too, they are so blooming noisey and he loves them, sits out in the garden watching them loads. Can't wait till winter now. Oh yeah and he still hates the pushchair with a passion and will only sleep in it after a massive screaming fit.

Is Bob the only baby that doesn't like rice cakes? He looks at me like I'm mad when I give him them to keep him quiet whilst I eat my dinner and it doesn't work, a bit of broccoli keeps him quiet for ages though. Oh and he has had the odd petite filous or own brand equivilant so sue me too he loves it - almost as much as the ice cream I let him lick on holiday opps bad bad mum. He does now eat sweet potato mash without making himself sick and its the only thing (except the rice cakes which he won't even put in his mouth) he hasn't liked so far.

Squeak has flavoured rice cakes but she is the only one of mine who has eaten them.. but she literally eats everything.. apart from scrambled egg, cheese and ham.

They are apple flavoured pigpen but Bob wouldn't know that since he won't put it in his mouth, he just holds it up looks at it, looks at me then tries to flick it off his hand - they are little bit sticky too. He's only really just starting on finger foods so he might change his mind - I'll keep offering them anyway.
