I'm dying to know how you make cheese straws? They sound like a great morning sickness cure :rotfl:

Little Squeak likes rice cakes too, except she has to fight the twins for them, even the yucky carrot ones.

She likes broccoli, and crumpets and anything she can pick up really. I'm lucky really because when we go out I can take plastic containers out with apples and cucumber or other sliced fruit in it and it keeps her happy, especially if it's been in the fridge before we leave. All the old ladies here think I'm amazing :rotfl: They don't see what she eats at home :o

Oh and she does eat petits filous (sue me lol) she didn't like those plum baby ones, I ended up eating them! She did have half a penguin (the biscuit not the bird!) that won't be happening again, she needed to get straight in the bath!

OH wants a beehive in the garden but it's very small and the twins can't really hamdle bees, they freak out, in spite of never ever having been stung!

Cucumber is evil apparently.. it gives her collywobbles! Crumpets make us go.. nomnomnomnom! She has never had chocolate.

DS2 strokes bees, they love him!
    Ingredients
    120g butter, softened
    450g grated strong cheese
    250g plain flour
    1 teaspoon cheese powder
    1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/4 teaspoon chilli powder (I use mustard powder if I will be eating them)
    Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 200 C / Gas mark 6.
    Grease a baking tray.
In a large bowl cream butter and cheese. Stir in flour, paprika, cheese powder and salt; mix well.
On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1.25cm in thickness.
Cut into 5cm strips and sprinkle with chilli powder and grated cheese.
Place strips on prepared baking tray 3 to 4cm apart.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes, or until cooked.

And play with recipe and adapt accordingly

    hi all

we've been away for a while, on hols and then at my mum's. Hope all are well.

L is doing well, first tooth has cut which seems to have coincided with him sleeping slightly better, though still way off sleeping through! He's a really happy smiley chap though which I guess is the most important thing! He's not crawling yet but rolling all over and having a good go at lifting his bum!

He also loves crumpets, and almost everything else! He has had plain yoghurt, seems to not mind it, sometimes has it with some crushed raspberries or similar in too. I hvae sometimes bought petit filous for the convenience but my sister reckons the own brand and value ones have a lot less sugar in.

Being a crappy parent.. Squeak just had smiley faces and chicken dippers for dinner... after the butternut squash and sweet potato mash.. and rusk.. yoghurts will be next!

She is a slob she doesn't even try to crawl and it quite happy sitting playing, she can shuffle a little on her bum but isn't speedy and doesn't go far! She rolls over maybe, once a week.. however, she is almost 22lb!

only problem we've had with Lottie is getting her to put on weight, despite hurling enough food for a rugby team down her throat!! Everytime she gets weighed I get moaned at! The child is long & skinny and doesn't stay still, last time she was weighed (around 23 weeks-ish) she was only 12lb 12oz!

Don't worry about it. Josh has always been underweight. He was skin and bones when he was born and he's 14 now and still like that! They did BMI recently in biology and his was 14, so he's still officially underweight!

He's always full of energy though, eats like a horse, plays for a football team and is rarely ill, so I guess he's just a tall, skinny person.

I wouldn't worry at all about her being skinny, unless she stopped eating or was always ill or something.

Has anyone any suggestions for yogurt?

Don't just stick to children's yoghurt. I used to just buy whatever was on special offer - Ski, Shape, Activia, Muller etc., and they ate most of them.

Don't worry about bits of sugar in stuff. Odd bits are fine and part of a healthy diet.
Here I go again on my own....

The tesco value ones are great they are like what, 45p for 6? not bad going :T

Nice to see you Rach, and glad to hear L is a happy soul :D

Little Squeak is as well and it helps me feel more sane :o

Oh to the poster who was worried about weights (sorry I've lost my memory lol) DD1 has ALWAYS beeen underweight EVERY time she was weighed. She wouldn't be underweight if she wasn't so tall.

She couldn't eat any more if she tried, and is a human dustbin. If you're going to give it to her she's going to eat it.

I've come to the same conclusion as Becles has with josh, she's just a skinny person.

Squeak is a heifer! she is almost 22lb at 9 months.. my others were about that at 2!!!!!!!

I don't hold much by weight.. if the child has energy and is happy then they are fine.. there is way too much guilt piled on parents about weight and eating and development.. they all do suff in their own sweet time.. they are all different builds and shapes and sizes and I for one am happy they are individuals.. they might not roll over when they are supposed to or juggle 16 balls or stand on their head or recite the Russian alphabet backwards..or any of the other moronic things the so called professionals lead us to believe they should be able to do.. but they are happy and thriving and I don't think we can expect more.

Hello ladies. Thought I'd delurk seeing as there's a couple of familiar faces. Hi sammy and fuzz!

Well all still going ok here. Joseph is now 6 weeks old! It's gone so fast. He's another FF baby. We struggled with BF to the point where we was readmitted to hospital cos he's lost so much weight. It made me lose all confidence in myself so I switched to FF straight away.

OH is on his second week of paternity this week so we've got lots of nice things planned. It's my 30th birthday on Thursday. Although OH has a chest infection and poor Joseph has a bad cough. Hope I don't start with it too.

Glad to see your all well and all babies are good too. I always read this thread during the night feeds so I'll try and make more of an effort to post even if it is at stupid o"clock

Thanks all for the reassurance about her weight, I kinda came to the same conclusion but it still doesn't stop that slight niggly thought in the back of my mind:o She is a happy active baby and the lucky cow must have her Dads figure, tall & skinny....think she may be patting me on the head when she's older:rotfl:
Sounds like Lottie's like your Josh, she was skin & bones when she was born too, I heard them say she was 7lb 1oz so was expecting a chubby baby but when DH brought her to meet me she was a skinny little thing:D

hi Almaya congrats, hope you can get some support. Not sure where you are but should be support at children's centres or you could try a baby cafe. It is hard bf at start but so much easier after the tough first weeks xx

Hi to Dusty too, main thing is you are happy and so is baby.

LO is a heffer too, over 20lbs at 8 months (which according to some of his 6 -9 months clothe he is too big for!) - can't believe when born was in small baby stuff!
Thomas born 28/08/2010 weighing 5lbs and 4ounces, small but perfectly formed :j:j Now weighs 19lbs and 5 ounces
