Morning
Hope Daisy feels better soon and yay for sitting xx
Yay for Squeak and the beaker and hope her runny bum clears up soon xx
Giz - I would get that checked out as it might be an infection rather than just crusty eyes. I don't like going to the doctors, but the colour would make me worry. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Morning all - lovely sunny day here again
.
:j for sitting (and rolling) babies. E can sit for a couple of seconds then wobbles and falls. I was a bad mummy the other day and didn't catch her in time.
Smartie & Pigpen - hope the little one's are both better soon. E was a grumpy madam all day yesterday and we had 2 messy nappies that leaked EVERYWHERE!
Giz -hope dd's eye clears up soon for you.0 -
DD (6.5 weeks old) has had a sticky eye for a couple of days. Been cleaning it with cooled boiled water, but been reading about using breastmilk which I might try.
Should I be going to the doctors though? It was green/snot coloured this morning. It seems to be worse when she's been asleep. She has a cold so I guess that could be why she has it?
I just worry I'm being too chilled about things and instead of being the type of mum that goes to the docs for everything, I'm going to cause more harm by not going.
My LO (now 17 weeks) had a sticky eye for the first 4 weeks at least. We went to GP and got eye drops which didn't work and at least 10 days after finishing the course of eye drops, it went away by itself. I just cleaned it with boiled water and cotton wool.0 -

Been to the docs for Bob today, he has some canesten hc cream because he has a nappy rash that won't go, its at the front not the back and the HV said they can get a touch of thrush, poor thing. He seems unaffected by it though.
Erin had a raised nappy rash shortly after she was born and after reading a few books I decided it was thrush (I had had it throughout pregnancy) so I treated her with my canesten - I did check with my sister first though! (she's a doc) It cleared the rash in no timeMum to DD born Oct 2009

It's really contagious so they say to use a new piece of cotton wool for each wipe so you avoid getting it in the other eye but I guess you know that. Erin's sticky eye got infected and around her eye went red and swollen - that's when we took her to the docs and she had to have antibacterial eye drops to clear it. It was horrid to do as she hated us doing it and you have to keep doing it even after it has cleared up but it does work. Always best to get it checked out especially if it has been a few days.Mum to DD born Oct 2009

My other 2 never had nappy rash - i thought I was doing something wrong but its looking better already so the cream is working.
Just been to town with another mum for a coffee, put Bob back in the pushchair after and he was really fussy but I couldn't find his dummy, he was just tired but will only go to sleep without it by having a good 10-15 min cry - fussy tired crying not full on screaming, I find it really hard to ignore him though. Turns out when I went to put him back in the car he was laying on the dummy - too late by then though. It's so lovely today - I bet it'll be nice all week then pants this weekend when I want to take DD and Bob to the white cliffs for a stroll.
Its really quiet here, hubby sleeping, bob sleeping I could probably get loads done if I wanted.0 -
MERFE I bet you were kicking yourself when you found it! I've had instances like that and it drives you mad.
Squeak has finally just gone to sleep now. She had her bottle which I thought I'd give her in the buggy as we've got to go soon.
Fingers crossed no more zimmer rage today on the way home!
The twins have a school disco tonight which is epic, it starts an hour after school finishes so hopefully OH will be home and can drop them off so I've not got to get off one bus, home for ten minutes then go out again and hang about for an hour with DD1 and Squeak then wait half an hour with all 4 of them for another bus home. Otherwise it will be a mission.
I've just hung out two loads of washing, which is blowing nicely in the breeze.
I bleached the bin and cleaned the bin cupboard this morning, because it's spider heaven, I get annoyed cos OH puts loads of stuff in there and it makes it a big job.
I used to clean it out every few weeks and it was no trouble because all it had in it was what needed to be there.
Done it today having pulled all the crap out and sure enough there were several small spiders and two huge ones. I really really hate them!
Mentioned to OH and he said 'Shouldn't you be getting inside sorted before you worry about that?' which made me really :mad: and I did say that come September (when he works away for 2 weeks) the spiders will come into the house and scare the living daylights out of me, so yes I do consider it something that is necessary to be done often.
Anyway I feel better now it's done. Anything with too many legs and all the eggs that were in there got sprayed with cillit bang (kills spiders!) I just need to sweep and mop the floor when OH gets home and gets the broom out of the garage, and put the bin back. Bin currently sat in the sunshine with bleach in it
Ha ha that was a long and boring post sorry.
Love to all.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o
