I don't think "grazing" at nursery helps. They think the children should eat all the time, so there's a table with snacks on such as fruit, raw veg, raisins, toast, crackers, breadsticks etc. She just picks on all afternoon and eats loads, so I think she comes home with a massive carb overload. She also gets a carton of milk to drink while she's there too.Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5

Not sure I'd be happy with continual eating either! I'd be having a word.
It's all rainy and grey, boo. I was hoping to get some washing out as I just washed a lot of Squeaks stuff overnight to go out today, it doesn't fit her long as it is without going in the dryer as well!
Have just put Squeaks up for a sleep, she was tired and fighting it. She has her teddy bear mobile on, and Ghostie with her so hopefully she'll go to sleep ok. Sometimes she does, sometimes she doesn't.
We've got a better morning set up now, she gets in with us first thing, then we come down and I make her toast, OH keeps an eye on her whilst she eats, which keeps her busy whilst I get the others ready and then she has her bottle a bit later, sometimes on the bus on the way to schoolbut it suits us that way, she doesn't really touch the milk if you give her that first.
Hope everyone is OK,
Susan I hope you are feeling a bit better with the sickness now.
I hope everyone with the tiny babies is getting lots of sleep,

mine demands milk first.. she comes in my bed and has a feed then has food when we get back from the school run (weetabix and banana today and she screamed for more.. oinker) she has milk about.. now.. a quick 5 minute feed though and goes down for a nap until about half 2 we collect beasts from school she has her dinner and while she is full I cook for everyone else and she has whatever we all have in her highchair and will pay for a bit then have boob and bed..
I really don't think she has enough fluids but she won't have a bottle and only a few sips from a beaker.. most of my others didn't drink much either..
Mine wouldn't leave the food table all day if they were given the option.. I'd complain it isn't goodLB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
I sometime snack all day at work, sometimes it's the only way to keep me going when reading long boring agreements! I haven't been too strict with Erin as she's not a big eater so I will try anything to get food down her. She eats fine at nursery though...
My nursery list all the meals and snacks the LO's eat and don't leave food or drink out.Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Apart from ds1 who would drink water/juice until it was flowing out of his ears, none of mine ever drank much either, but neither do I really.
I also think that is a bit odd Becles, letting them eat as much as they want whenever they want. I wonder where they got the idea to do that?
It is lovely seeing so many new names on here from the preggy thread:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,

My boobs are sore
I think it's a montgomery tubule that is sore on both areolas. I think DD is irritating them and it's got to the point where it's extremely painful. I'm wondering if it's down to a poor latch?
I'm going to go to the breastfeeding clinic on Monday if it doesn't get better before then. I've been having such a good time breastfeeding and now it's reducing me to tears againAlthough I managed to get a good latch on the last feed where it didn't kill. I've tried other positions, the rugby hold works well on the left breast as it keeps DD gums away from the problem. But didn't work for right breast.
I've just expressed (want to start stocking up a bit in the freezer) and that was fine. No pain at all.
I've been using my 3 washable nappies over the past few days and so far so good. No leaks, no poo explosions. I also got 7 more which I've been washing for the absorbancy.
2 totsbots stretchies, 2 more bumgenius (velcro), 1 totsbots easyfit, 1 more flip, and a wonderoo (was cheap).
I used fleece liners too but I'm not sure what to do with the poo - it's really runny so trying to flush it down the toilet didn't work. So I ended up just putting it in the wash as it was. Is that OK?
How many times should I prewash the totsbots? I've done them 3 so far.Baby Giz born 6/2/110 -
Don't forget there are lots of other bf positions as well, probably good to do different ones so you don't irritate the same area all the time. I like lying down on my back with Erin across me - ie. like feeding in the normal position sitting up but lying down on your back. Or lying on my back with Erin orientated the same way on top of me. We've even tried me lying down and Erin sticking her bum in the air lol. I hope they manage to give you some help at the breastfeeding clinic, if you can't wait until then though you can ring the helpline. It's hard to know when a latch is right but basically you just want your nipple to go to the top back part of your mouth - where it is soft - so nothing is rubbing.

Not necessarily, MV. It very much just depends! So don't dread it too much. (Finn was only a bit poorly after the 2nd of the 3 early ones)
