Leopardlady wrote: »Can anyone tell me if they had dental problems after being pregnant? Two of my teeth have broken in the last week? My dentist is closed so can't sort out the second, but the first they don't want to deal with until the 1st April!! Quite scared of eating with teeth breaking while eating only soft food recently??? Any advice would be lovely, thanks.
It's normal to get dental problems when you're pregnant or just after. That's why you get the free dental treatment until baby is a year old.
I had an old root canal filling in a tooth, so it was weak to start with. After Charlotte was born the remaining tooth just crumbled away. They tried putting a crown on it, but it got badly infected and they couldn't clear it up, and I ended up having it all out as I was just pig sick of it! Just got a gap now but it's at the back and not really noticeable.
There's a naughty girl at Charlotte's school and Charlotte is good friends with her. I've noticed Charlotte being more naughty since she the friendship began. It's so annoyingHere I go again on my own....0 -
Honestly beccles I think they just start pushing more boundaries as they get older, Keira doesnt hang around with anyone naughty but she is a stroppy mare with me sometimes, ignores what I ask, slams her door and calls me "EBIL!!" I thought that was supposed to happen at 13?
She hates a girl called YAZMEE (or something?) in her class, she said "She follows me around and punches me in the head if I dont play with her" She cliped on her (shes a huge tattle tale) but she'll hold a grudge forever more so yazmee is horrible, and apparently doesnt have shiny hair either = Hatred.0 -
It might be that too.
The other girl has tantrums which I've seen, and Charlotte has started copying those, and copies the stroppy "no I don't want to" when she's asked to do things. That drives me mad :mad:Here I go again on my own....0 -
Hi all! Sorry I've been absent the past few days - I've been sick AGAIN. Ever since starting back at work & Finn at the CM's, it's just been one after another (both him AND me). I'm so fed up, I never used to get ill
.
Lovely to see so many washable nappy users on here!! There used to only be a few of us floating around. I personally always recommend a 2-part system (nappy + outer wrap), as any of the all-in-ones we tried leaked badly. With the nappy underneath, don't worry if there's some gaping around the legs, as long as the outer wrap is snug to the skin, it will stop any leaks. For nighttimes, just throw in an extra booster or even 2, they will take the worst of the wee. I use both Motherease (one-size) nappies & wraps, but I have a couple Lollipops as well.
Very recently we've started getting the start of mini-tantrums - throw blocks when he's frustrated with something, you get the picture. Noooo, too soon for a stroppy baby!
If any new mums want to post pictures of their ickle babies for us to googoo over, I won't complain.

thanks Becles, one of my teeth is an old root canal, they are removing in on the 1st April, the other is a wisdom tooth that has just broken!
Trying to settle my little man while OH heads back from a band practice, via the chinese (oops not very MSE) but i am feeling rather emotionally whacked after our first trip to child minder and my first baby free hours (without him being with family). Very mixed feelings, he seemed very happy there and actually cried when i returned to pick him up!!!! But he has spent most of the afternoon laughing and giggling with me, so that has made me very happy.Leopardlady
Got married on the 26th April 08!!!!!!!:j:T

I remember when she hung around with blakey who has now moved, he used to always belt his mum, and she dared lifting her hand to me, I went off my head and she got put to her room for an hour. When she first started nursery she was terrible too, stropping when we got home, I had to put her in her room and hold the door closed as she was going balistic :eek: No idea why, over tiredness. She's always crabby when tired.0 -
CL - I think my ds always fed more than that. we've just started solids last week at 5.5 months and are doing baby led/finger foods...mainly as I can't be faffed with purees! He is doing really well and since saturday has tried brocolli, carrot, sweet potato, green beans, banana, kiwi, strawberries, plums, parsnip. He is also having baby porridge which he has with a spoon but I load the spoon and he manages to feed himself. I think the signs can be there if you look for them, he was interested in food for ages and would watch us eat (as he watches everything) and hasn't slept through until last night but I didn't feel he needed solids. every baby is different though and mummy knows best!
can't think who asked about reusable nappies. Mine are all second hand and have cost me next to nothing. I have old style velcro tots bots, some cotton and some bamboo, with motherease wraps which i bought new and some tots bots wraps I got cheap on a forum. we've not had a leak since using them and his bottom is so much softer! I do need to get some size 2s though as he will soon be too big for the 1s.

That sounds like Charlotte.
Tonight, she'd been in the shower and I said "go and put your pyjamas on while I have a wee" - simple enough instruction. Somehow she translated that as go and roll around naked on the landing with the dog?! I said in a normal voice "why didn't you put your pyjamas on like you were told to do?", and she went just all floppy and made stupid noises
I don't think "grazing" at nursery helps. They think the children should eat all the time, so there's a table with snacks on such as fruit, raw veg, raisins, toast, crackers, breadsticks etc. She just picks on all afternoon and eats loads, so I think she comes home with a massive carb overload. She also gets a carton of milk to drink while she's there too.
We have tea about 5.30pm which she eats well on a weekend when she's had no snacks, but just she just picks on at it on a school night. She's also better behaved on a weekend. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Anonymously send them pamphlets on childhood obesity? Structured snacks, yes. Not a table full of food for free-pickings!top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne
