Just spent a few mins watching Tigger tap dance in his jumperoo :rotfl:he hasn't figured out to jump and and isn't really tall enough so we've put a big flat box underneath. It arrived on Friday and he's been in it a few times already - I love this thing!:T
Just a normal 3 layer terry booster
Squeak got her jumperoo for christmas and i is already up o the second height setting she is very tall for 7 monhs though.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
giz yes really you should take the car seats out - i didn't realise this and we got an advisory because they said they couldn't test the seat belts with them there. Although it was a very fussy garage I've since found a much nicer man to do my car who would probably have taken them out himself tested it and then put them back because he is lovely, he also fixes little things they may fail on that just need a tweak without charging.
BigBird my first didn't get a cold until she started nursery when I went back to work, she was very lucky. Poor Bob has a neverending cold. I think he had one at the beginning of half term that never really fully got over and now he has another that DS has bought home from school, so he was a little bit sick last night, I think from coughing more than because he is sick though and the snot is streaming. He appears to be sleeping it off this morning though - he was up from 6am till 10am but has been asleep since then.
Been for a lovely swim whilst he slept and OH cleaned the whole house. Not be going to baby group later because I don't like to spread the germs and I've cancelled Bobs vaccinations that were due today so a relaxing afternoon hopefully.
Oh he is awake now.0 -
Thanks for the replies. I know I should be pleased that Joe hasn't been ill - and I am pleased - it just seems odd that he's not catching colds from me when he's stuck in the house with me coughing and spluttering. I'm not BF, we stopped at New Year as we were losing the plot with it a bit, so he's not had antibodies for my last 2 colds. Obviously just a very robust little man. 17lb 7 at 18 weeks and in 9-12 month vests now  - very robust indeed! (But, saying that, he still has to have the lid off his toybox under his jumperoo as his legs aren't growing as fast and his feet don't touch the floor yet - as you can see in this piccy)
I go back to work in May so he'll probably pick something up at the childminder's then!
JadeOrchid, I also use disposables when we're out and about and at night. I really should try the washables overnight as I have got boosters, just not been brave enough yet.
Pigpen - does the booster absorb most of the wee, or does the rest of the nappy still get wet? Joe normally sleeps for around 12 hours and I don't really want him all damp around his legs for hours at a time (assuming he didn't wake up). I should really just be brave and give them a go at night. You can do anything, make anything, dream anything. If you change the world, the world will change.0 -
I have a really neurotic mum question, which should give you a laugh if nothing else. Is it normal for a baby to not catch a cold from it's parents? I'm just getting over my 3rd cold since Joe was born, but he hasn't caught one at all. I keep reading that babies catch several colds in their first year, but at 4 1/2 months he's had nothing despite all of my coughing and spluttering around him. Or if he has, it's been so mild as to not be noticeable. I'm starting to worry now that when he finally does catch something it's going to make him really ill
Please someone tell me I'm being stupid!

I'd like to try reusables for night time but really don't think the Bumgenius will be up for the job of Tiggers 10-11 sleeps overnight. Any of you lovely ladies have a recommendation for a good nighttime nappy for babies who can quite happily drink around 7-8oz before bed?
shh...we use sposies at night too
I was recommended to use Tots Bots Stretchies with an extra booster and a roomy motherease wrap at nighttime but I have to confess, I've not been brave enough to try it - bubs is bad enough for sleeping without having a potential leaky nappy to deal with. I was also told that bumgenius aren't known to last through the night on most babies - hence the combination of nappies I use.

I don't think DS1 has had 10 colds in his life and he is 19.
Squeak has had 2 at 7 months.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
hi all
Just after a bit of advice please?
I took Immy to the docs Friday morning as she felt chesty, it wasn't my usual doctor, but she said that her chest sounded clear, but to go back if still worried.
This morning i can feel her wheezing when i'm winding her, she seems ok otherwise....
Should i take her back again? Dont want them to think i'm neurotic (sp)....
Thanks
DD2 started with a cold/chesty cough the week before xmas so we took her to the drs and they said the same - clear chest. I've ended up taking her back another 2 or 3 times since as it seems to go and then after a couple of days it's back again. She's probably had 3 or 4 colds already and she's 6 mths old.
I always worry about going back as I think they'll have me down as a nuisance but it's what they get paid for.0 -
Hi Big Bird - nice to meet you
Josh was a very healthy baby. He's 14 now and hardly had any colds or tummy bugs etc., and no serious illnesses at all.
James had numerous colds and then had double pneumonia when he was two. That weakened his immune system and he caught all sorts when he started nursery then school. I can remember his attendance was poor in reception and Year 1 as he kept catching colds. He gradually got better after that, and he's 12 now and rarely ill at all.
Charlotte is three and has caught a few colds, but nothing serious.
Just count your blessings and hope he grows up like my Josh! Here I go again on my own....0 -
I can't recall any of mine having even close to ten colds even up to school age :think:Any question, comment or opinion is not intended to be criticism of anyone else.2 Samuel 12:23 Romans 8:28 Psalm 30:5
