It doesn't get any better delain. I've got a 14 and 12 year old that can't get trousers to fit as they're so skinny. It's hard finding elastic waisted trousers in big sizes, especially for Josh as sometimes he needs a small man size rather than a child. They both eat way too much food, so I've no idea where it goes!
Here I go again on my own....

SJP I met one woman at a group who was so excitedly telling me all about how advanced her baby was - fantastic, she was so full of beans about it - it was really funny and no telling her yeah my older son was like that too seemed to get through that she just has a normal baby lol Bob is really slow but I don't care I know he'll get there, luckily the group I go to just seems to be people wanting to get out the house and let the babies playing, its not competitive like that. No point trying to make loads of friends because I'll be going back to work soon enough and won't really have time for them then.

Went and bought a new sofa this morning - I'm so happy my first proper suite. OH put his bum through our 6 year old cheap clearance sofa and I could have kissed him for it because I keep meaning to replace it but it was on my want not need list. He changed that to a need. Got a DFS one so first year is free then one years worth of payments. We have a loan that finishes in dec and the sofa repayments are still less than the loan. I just need to buy some nice curtains and a new rug to match them then thats 2 rooms done in the house.

I've got some pelvic/hip pain but only when I've walked too much. I had it when pregnant but it's nowhere near as bad as when I was pregnant. Not had any tummy pain at all so no idea if that's normal. After what I've been through if you think it's not right go to the docs and make a fuss.

DD slept 7 hours last night! Fed at 10pm and 5:30am! Not complaining but it does shock me when she does this. She's been doing so well the last couple of weeks. I'm easily getting 8 hours a night (in 2 parts). I'm no longer falling asleep on the sofa in the early evening as I'm not tired. Everything feels so much better when you get enough sleep.

Today I've been testing the washable nappies :D I have 3, Flip, Smartipants and bumgenius. I used the flip first, I chickened out a bit and changed her a bit sooner than normal, it was quite wet, and only a tiny poo - so not a great test. I think it's probably still a bit big as there were gaps at the legs and I'd worry about poo leakage.

She's wearing the smartipants at the moment. It doesn't look as sealed against the skin as the flip and even bigger gap at the legs. She's been wearing it a while now (she won't wake up), so waiting to see what mess she's made.

Think I'll save the bumgenius for the morning, then I can wash them.

I'm thinking about ordering some more nappies to try. Any recommendations? Was thinking totbots, or nappies that come with wraps (the 3 I have are one size/all in ones).

I can't help with reusables sorry Giz :(

Becles noooo I can see DD1's clothes having to come from Miss Sixty, I am sure she will be 6ft odd and a size 6 or 8

Squeaks teeth are really bothering her at the moment, she's not happy.

Oh and we had a scare today, my one of my neighbours knocked at my door today to ask if my cat was OK because there was a huge puddle of blood in her front garden and my cat had been there earlier and of course the silly animal was nowhere to be seen...

Knocked on all my near neighbours and had them all checking their gardens in case she'd been hurt and sneaked off somewhere to die :(

About an hour and a half later it sauntered in unscathed to a heroes welcome and a whole tin of tuna :o

It scared me after last time when I had to go and see her at the vets when the RSPCA found her after she'd been run over, and they told me they weren't sure she'd last the night.

I use totsbots nappies.. they are soft and fluffy and just too cute.

Today we ate squished swede and yorkshire puddings.. caulliflower cheese is vile but desserts are yummy.. :D and we wore red glitters shoes because we are a princess! And we still have no teeth!

Delain..cats are just mighty clever... she probably planted the blood there by squeezing dead mice and rolled about next to it until the neighbour saw you then hid under the bin until she sniffed tuna.. cunning!

    Morning

Sorry to hear about your cat delain. That must have been so worrying.

Off work today and going to see a chiropractor. I keep getting pains in my neck and shoulders but never got round to doing anything about it. Saw a good offer on Groupon so thought it was worth getting checked out as my New Year resolution was to get myself healthy again.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

Hi, Giz we used totsbots easyfit with our wee one too, they have velcro on both nappies and wraps so are very similar to normal nappies. We just found them slightly bulkier so meant he went up clothes sizes a bit earlier to fit his bum in!
think it depends on your baby though which is best, we were lucky i got these ones cheap and they worked for us!

Hi all. This is my first venture into the parent thread, so please be gentle with me :o

It's nice to see some Mummies I remember from the pregnancy thread

We use Motherease nappies, Giz, and find them really good. Not had any leaks so far. I think the wraps we have are Totsbots though, as theirs were funkier than the Motherease ones.

I have a really neurotic mum question, which should give you a laugh if nothing else. Is it normal for a baby to not catch a cold from it's parents? I'm just getting over my 3rd cold since Joe was born, but he hasn't caught one at all. I keep reading that babies catch several colds in their first year, but at 4 1/2 months he's had nothing despite all of my coughing and spluttering around him. Or if he has, it's been so mild as to not be noticeable. I'm starting to worry now that when he finally does catch something it's going to make him really ill :( Please someone tell me I'm being stupid! :o

For a littlie (and for not so littlies) 2 part nappy systems are definitely more bombproof than one parters or pockets. I use bamboozle stretchies by Tots Bots and the discontinued Cotton Tots as my two parters (I have 5 bumgenius v4 too) and I'm yet to have any kind of leak from a stretchie - despite the fact that I forgot to change my LO for about 6 hours yesterday. I use motherease wraps though - Don't find the tots bots ones secure enough

I'd highly recommend the nappy lady for advice, it's free! The nappies she recommended for us and our circumstances are brilliant and her delivery is super quick too so long as your items are in stock.
