  • Evening all. Beccles thanks for sharing those piccies, I'd not seen them before.

Today I have been mostly amazed by the amount of poo contained in a small toddler. Teething is rubbish. Also Izzy has been amazed that a baby who couldn't walk last time she saw her was toddling round with her today :) She kept tellling me "baby Rachel walking" in a very pleased voice :) (She was also very concerned about the bird poo on my windscreen and much consoled when I cleaned it off - these have been the two main topics of conversation for the day!)

That's what I did. The ink was non toxic and I wiped it off straight afterwards with a wipe. If you want hand prints your best bet is probably when they're asleep - Alice was much older before I was able to get hands as I couldn't get her to keep her hands flat - she would screw her hand up. Feet are dead easy though.

Never thought about ink..... Will have to have a look for some....

We were looking for a kit to do the hands and feet in clay, but only think i've seen in like a block of clay.... Need to get my skates on with this, Immy Lou has massive feet (although they dont seem to be as big now she's putting weight on!)

Giz - Thanks for those links, i've seen the HV and she had me sign something to say she could pass my details on, but i've not had anything through..... Hope everything goes ok tomorrow. I'll see how I get on over the weekend and if no better i'll go get checked out. Thanks

Its marvellous how kids are so fascinated with poo.....

SJP.. we used a block of clay.. rolled it about in our hands until it was warm and soft and rolled it to about 5mm thick and squished her hands and feet then smoothed the edges with a knife so they were neat and even and crimped the edge with a spoon so it looked pretty.

Hi all just wanted to chip in and say matthew is nearly 17 months now and has only about six words and you literally have to prise them out of him lol. He is still not sleeping through the night and has only three teeth. As you can probably guess i dont bother with milestones anymore lol
    ..

Hi Pookie , Good to hear from you. 3 teeth, I though Erin was late but she has 6 :p

My OH does a week of lates (1pm-11pm) once a month. I've just got used to the fact that nothing will get done on that week. If you set your expectations lower it really helps!

I had trouble finding good parent baby groups - Eventually I found my buggy fit group online and once I had started that I got recommendations from them for other groups in my area. The best was a parenting course which lasted 5 weeks and covered different topics like weaning, illnesses (and first aid), speech etc. That was free and actually organised by my council and every new mum got invited when their baby was 4 months. But I also went to parent baby group which was very good as we sung hello and goodbye to everyone at the start and end of the session so you really got to know everyones names.

baby groups - start them ASAP, as if you don't start going until baby is older, all the other new mums already know each other and are clique-y friends and it's REALLY hard to get friendly unless you get lucky and someone else new turns up too. Or maybe it was just me b/c I'm shy...:o :(
