    Morning!

Finn has now lost all fear of the 2 steps down into our kitchen/bathroom, so most of yesterday was spent running back and forth retrieving him from emptying the bin in the bathroom. :p We are totally going to buy him a toddler trampoline when he's older as he LOVES to bounce. Can't wait to take him to Butlins, actually, as there will be so much fun stuff for him to climb on and crawl through :).

Aless hopfully one day you will be able to use the bin again :rotfl: for the moment I guess it's child-friendly rubbish only :o

Glad to hear your parents eventually got home OK Becles though it sounds an epic journey  I bet they were glad you put thir heating on!

Quick question, how do you cook blueberries? I know how to do apple baby food and wanted to chuck some blueberries in, do I just stew them with the apples and sieve it to get rid of the skins?

Morning all :) I hope tired Mummies are slightly less tired this morning!

I wish!!:rotfl:<---- crazy sleep deprived lady;)

I was thinking about getting some blueberries the other day delain... but not sure what you should do?? Daisy just had some chunks of apple... she had a lovely time munching away on them!!:D

Last day at my little house. I'm very sad to be moving:( Most stuff is at new house now apart from big furniture.

  • Bluberries have quite a thick skin, so stewing them a bit before pureeing (or stewing them together with the apple maybe?) might be a good idea. I was naughty today and bought strawberries. I'm normlly quite strict about avoiding that kind of thing out of season because it is so expensive, but we have to have a treat sometimes :)

I tried pureeing blueberries once, but by the time I'd boiled them and pushed them through a sieve to get the skins off, I was left with hardly anything :o

I found it was much cheaper buying blueberries, exotic and other expensive fruits in the jars, and making my own with cheaper fruits like apples and bananas.
Here I go again on my own....
  • Oh - and my strawberry baby food tip - look out for them reduced at the end of the day... it doesn't matter if they are looking a bit manky if they are going to be pureed and frozen as soon as you get home! I once got about 8 packs when I saw them reduced to about 1/4 of the normal price. Even when you are no longer on the puree stage it is nice over ice cream! This tip probably applies to other fruit too!

I already had the blueberries as DD1 takes them to school in her lunch, these are left over ones and they were on offer when I got them I promise :rotfl:

I guess I would just cook them for a bit to soften the skins! maybe with a tiny bit of sugar to activate the juices? With apple would be nice.

Well Finn's pox are healed enough to go back to the CM's tomorrow, thank goodness. He prolly could've gone back on Friday, but I had already booked off so we stayed home together :).

Been doing lots of baking and stuff this weekend...I made chocolate orange muffins, savoury flapjacks, bagels and burger buns/baps. Phew! :p I'm also SO happy because I FINALLY managed get Windows 7 installed back on my netbook (it doesn't have a CD drive so took me ages to get it working off a USB stick).

  • Don't feel you have to justify your fruit-related purchases to you delain. We won't judge you I promise ;)

I'm having a sit down for 5 mins. We've been to the park but because DH is working in town I thought we would walk to the park near his work instead. It isn't very far, but it is a lot of on-your-feet time when you have a toddler who wants to walk (she didn't walk very far at all, but spent a lot of time over it!) plus running around the park like a nutter time. But never mind, at least I know we will both sleep well tonight!

I need to tidy up enough to hoover in here if nothing else before I collapse fully (plus make my tea, but I will worry about that once Izzy is in bed seeing as I'm going to have quick stuff anyway), so I need to do a bit of tidying round Izzy's table while she finishes her food. She was demanding chocolate, but I tempted her with the spaghetti I'd made for her by letting her help me grate cheese over the top :)

I'll let you off then :D

I'm right stingy at times and begrudge paying more than I have to :o

Charlotte disappeared at her Gran's this morning and appeared with lipstick and rouge on. Thankfully Gran saw the funny side :o

She'd already had a dusting of face powder and a squirt of my perfume before she went.
Here I go again on my own....
