Giz - re the breastfeeding problem of baby putting her arm in the way when you are trying to latch her on..I have exactly the same problem with Josh and it's sooo frustrating.

Have you tried swaddling her before feeding? Josh isn't a fan, but sometimes I just have to in order to be able to feed him!
So glad DD isn't the only one then. At the clinic all the babies seemed so well behaved compared to mine.

I have tried swaddling once while feeding, but I think she hates it. I couldn't get her latched on because she was so irate. I've not found swaddling in bed works for her either, she seems to like her arms free to wave around :)

Feels like we have another screaming session on the way tonight. She's been great all day and after her feed at 6pm (which she then threw most of it up over OH) and then had to feed her again (sigh) she's not settled since. She sleeps in our arms, but won't settle in bed :(

@Becles - thanks for the advice re SPD. Does that mean the gym will be out for a while? I froze my membership when I got pregnant and it starts up again in May. Are there some things I can do? Maybe swimming?

We did manage to get out to a mother & baby screening at our local cinema today which was quite an experience. It was a real scream-fest but not from my one, she was as good as gold. Mainly because she spent most of it on my boobs.

They have mother and baby screenings....waw, thats nice I didn't know that. I must check out my local cinema and see if they do those. I really miss my cinema outings!

  • Giz re support the baby cafes are good http://www.thebabycafe.org/ can bf and get support, although the one near us is more of a wait for support type thing rather than a social gathering but I guess depends on the one you go to, may be quite nice just end up talking to the person next to you?

T used to the arm thing to and sorry to disappoint you all it gets worse as they get seriously distracted at the boob looking at everything/smiling at mummy/talking to you etc so even though a feed is quicker really it isn't. Also if you're feeding in public before he used to nod off at the boob so could take him off discreetly now he will just come off flashing me to everyone. But saying all this I love bf and wouldn't have it any other way.

It's hard to say as everyone's body is different. Some people will heal up quickly and for others it niggles on for ages.

I seem to remember it takes about 6-8 weeks for the hormone that causes the ligament stretching to leave your body after birth, so definitely nothing before then.

When you go back to the gym, explain what has happened and they should tell you if there is anything you shouldn't be doing. Take it very easy and gently at first and see how you go. If you do anything that puts pressure on your pelvis and you get pain, then stop immediately.

Mine used to niggle around period time due to the hormones floating about. Damn nuisance these hormones aren't they? :D

My SPD had pretty much gone within a week of the beast being removed.. half the issue was the shoulder she had wedged on the front of my pubic bone which aggravated everything. I am still a bit 'clicky' 6 months on but it isn't painful now.

My pelvic pain was gone as soon as Squeak was born but it's not an accurate measure because you could have stabbed me in my left side and I'd not have realised :rotfl:

Natwest are reducing my limit in 3 days and robbed me today

    Morning

I can remember going on holiday to Turkey when Charlotte was a year old and were were in a room under the kids club that was accessed down a spiral stone staircase. She couldn't walk then so we had to carry her and the pushchair up and down, and Craig's knee was very bad then and I was getting pelvic pain so it was a bit of a nightmare. It was was a really horrible room too, but we complained after a couple of days and they managed to find us a much nicer ground floor room which was much easier with the pushchair.

That sounds a nightmare with NatWest delain. Hope you can get that sorted.

My parents are flying back from India today. I've missed them! They're due to land at Manchester at lunchtime and should be back up here later today.

Popping out this morning to do an audit for work, then I'll call in at their house and leave some groceries. Charlotte made a big lasagne last night so there's a couple of portions to leave for their tea tonight. I'll turn their heating up as well as it's absolutely freezing here with a few flurries of snow.

Hope everyone has a good day xx

I had some lovely plans for the day but apparently OH has loads of jobs to do in the garage grr so I suppose its housework for today oh joy. However if I can get everything done well today I can relax a bit next week during half term so that will be good.

Having a problem with my c-section scar, thought it was healed but its come up red and sore so might have to go to the docs on monday, pants.

Hope everyone else has a better day than me xx
