Hello to all the newbies :hello: Dont worry there are some of us still here as I too get annoyed with the FB group freezing and I cant keep up with it!!Oh giz once you are back to normal it will be so much easier, hope they sort you out soon. I stopped my iron tablets early, they were causing me havoc with black tarry poos, constipation and tummy pain, so I hope your levels are normal and you can stop them too.
Grrr Iron tablets, I was given them with both of mine. With Henry I had to stop them after not going for 9 days!!, not being able to sit down properly and eventually giving up BF. So when they gave me them with William I just didnt take them. Decided I know my own body better than a Dr sometimes !Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
poor DS1 has seen my boobs so many times now he is prob scarred for life. He was 10 when DS2 was born and hadn't seen my body for years as he started to get body conscious around 8. I feel he is immune now however as he doesn't notice when I feed ds2.
Can you tell him to tell my two? They're 14 and 12 and not body conscious at all. Both still wander round in the nuddy and they think nothing of wandering in and talking to me when I'm getting dressed or on the toilet, which irritates me!sharkeybabe wrote: »Hello. I'm coming over from the Pregnancy Thread, my daughter Sofia was born on Tuesday. Hope I can join you all.
I'm looking for a bit of advice if anyone can help, Sofia is 3 days old and we are having terrible trouble trying to settle her at night. During the day she sleeps and feeds well (bottled fed around every 3-4 hours) but at night time, she just screams the place down and we have had no sleep at all.
Hi - lovely to meet you and congrats on your lovely news
Do you think she might have days and nights mixed up?
You could try keeping her downstairs where it's light during the day and making as much noise as you usually do. Put the TV, use the hoover and washing machine, talk to each other normally and so on. When she's awake talk or sing to her, make lots of eye contact, show her things, have fun at nappy changes by ticking her or blowing raspberries on her tummy and so on.
Then at night time, try and keep it as dark as possible while you feed and change her, don't speak, avoid eye contact and do everything with the minimum of fuss.
That might get her used to staying asleep longer at night time and waking more during the day.She also said that some of the pain I'm getting is still SPD!
It can take a very long time for your pelvis to heal up properly. Rest loads and don't over do it. I had SPD and it took some months before I felt fully fit again and I was still getting odd twinges when Charlotte was a year old! You must take care as if you keep niggling it, it will take longer to get better.
I'm fine now and do plenty of exercises with my legs apart and pressure on my pelvis at boot camp but don't feel a thing.
I've had iron tablets before and had the nasty poo symptomsHere I go again on my own....0 -

Just quickly as I don't have time to read back. If you are ovulating while not menstruating are you still ovulating monthly? I just assumed when they said you could still ovulate that it meant you would ovulate just before AF returned so only once before AF returned. I haven't been having any of the normal hormonal changes I usually get.Mum to DD born Oct 2009

..
We did manage to get out to a mother & baby screening at our local cinema today which was quite an experience. It was a real scream-fest but not from my one, she was as good as gold. Mainly because she spent most of it on my boobs.
I'm so guilty of this! Even when Erin woke up I would just shove her back on the boob so she would be quite for a bit longer so I could watch the film!Mum to DD born Oct 2009

Giz - re the breastfeeding problem of baby putting her arm in the way when you are trying to latch her on..I have exactly the same problem with Josh and it's sooo frustrating.
Have you tried swaddling her before feeding? Josh isn't a fan, but sometimes I just have to in order to be able to feed him!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
BF on demand is making it hard to leave the house, and I can't see how I'm ever going to be able to BF in public. I can't put my breast away one handed so it stays on display while I keep DD upright.
If you go out wear a looser top so you can just pull it down to cover yourself.. put the baby in the pushchair or just lay her across your lap and sort yourself.
I've never had an issue with this method apart from the time i pulled the top half down and hadn't realised it was still hooked up on my nipple.. nothing booby could be seen but it was chilly!
give yourself time..
Maybe evening visitors could bring a prepared meal

Fair to middling mostly. Baby been a little gitbag today but she eventually screamed herself off to sleep. DS1 moved back home 3 weeks ago... it feels like 1000 years he is SUCH hard work, far worse than the other 8!! Though.. by next Friday I may be fit to kill after a week of them all at home!
Little Josh is looking very cute.. I love grown up pj's they are so cute, I bought DGB some peppa/George Pig ones they are too cute!
I have a baby windmill a well.. I have a video of her flapping on fb.. I tuck the arm cosest me under my arm so it is at the back of me.. roll her bod towads me so her chest is facing me and give her a sock or something to hold while she feeds otherwise I fight with arms and feet and she arches away from me and is bit of a nightmare!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Hi Sharkey and congratulations on Sofia. Lovely to see you here, I'm not on facebook so hope you become another regular here.
We started off with all night crying but got that sorted with co-sleeping which kind of works for us. However, now we have switched to all day crying instead! It is really difficult to figure out what it is, most times it seems like just a need to be held close and reassured. I have just started using a sling with her today which gives me a bit of freedom to get things done (the ironing pile was a mile high) as after a while of screaming she does settle and goes to sleep in it.
Re babies getting their hands in the way when feeding (and ouch those nails digging in can hurt) my MW showed me how to use a blanket a bit like a straight jacket to keep their hands at their sides, works a treat. We Made-it-3 on 28/01/11 with birth of our gorgeous DD.0
