yes they are posted in time order and if it looked like being confusing I would either not merge or post to say I had :)
in this case the OP of the merged thread was at 9.12pm, in that time there had only been TWO posts in the parent thread, one just general chat asking for a recipe and the second giving a link to a recipe and mentioning the person asking by their username (so obvious who they were replying to)
all other posts between the time of the OP of the merged thread and this morning were from the merged thread, so a continuous discussion, so in this case I can't see why it was so confusing,

surely if a parent has a problem they need help with (and this was a parenting question) you would all rather their query was in your helpful, informative thread, than moved to the Arms where they may feel a little out of place :)
saying that nonmoneysaving threads should all be moved to the Arms is a little harsh when this thread has its fair share of non moneysaving posts ;)
I like the support it gives though and it's good to have somewhere to put these queries rather than move them :)

as I've said this merge was done with a minimum of disruption

Why did you quote me, and then give this reply?

1, I never said it was confusing, I was merely trying to help others understand why it may seem as if chat had gone on inbetween posts..I obviously haven't got as much time on my hands as you have, so I didn't check times etc...

2, I never once said anyones's post should be sent to the arms!

3, Of Course we would prefer any relevant posts/questions to be directed here so we can help

    xx

Becles linked to a thread that's been started in the Site Feedback forum about this issue. We really don't want to be cliquey or to ignore people who ask for advice, but when a thread merge happens and nobody posts to say, Hey, there was a thread merge, look back, we don't see it and so people go unanswered. I think it's also a bit of a shame that the BG is spending more time defending herself against accusations people aren't making (or misattributing accusations) than addressing the point that's being made, which is simply that the current merge policy isn't working and perhaps the way the OS board do it or even just adding the courtesy post to alert regulars to the merge. Clearly, since PT regulars, merged OPs and people who were just following the merged thread have all complained about the way it's been done it isn't working, no matter how often BGs assure us that it is.

I found it odd as well, because I posted when the PT was dead and it ended up looking like I ignored a whole discussion.

Hence the thread being called cliquey, and the poor Mum going away feeling completely ignored by some.

Not the support she was looking for and I bet you didn't feel that great either. X :(

The only reason I hadn't posted on the original thread (the one that got merged in) is because my family circumstances have always been compliacted and unusual (normal is boring all right? :p)

So I din't feel I had much to offer the OP. Or I'd have just stuck my big nose in like usual :o

My Josh did that. He was in our room for two nights and I just didn't sleep as he was constantly making noises and I was just lightly dozing all the time thinking he was going to wake up in a minute. Had to put him in his own room so I could get some decent sleep!

James used to do that if he was cross about something. He was born blue, slightly prem and underweight. He was naked for what seemed like ages while they got him breathing again, then he was freezing cold so they swaddled him and put him under a grill like heater. He didn't want to be swaddled and kept grunting and wriggling until he managed to get his arms out. Then the midwives would come and check on him and I'd get into trouble for not keeping him swaddled, so they'd wrap him up and the grunting and wriggling would start again :rotfl:

Pottered on this morning doing odd jobs and cleaning with my little "helper". Just having lunch and I'll walk her along to nursery.

Interesting about James, Becles as Josh doesn't like being swaddled much either. He always manages to get his arms free and grunts a lot in the process!

At what age btw is it deemed ok to put a baby in their own room btw?

I think the official advice is either six or twelve months - I forget which.

    afternoon

MV officially 6 months, but loads move them before then. DD went at 8 weeks and DS at 4 months. I'm really keen to get Bob in his cot as I think he'll sleep better and alot of the time he is stirring and I put my hands in the moses basket when really I should leave him alone but because he is sharing with his brother I don't really want to move him till he sleeps through - i'm torn.

DD and bob were also rubbish with swaddling, they did not stop wiggling till they were free but DS loved it and often asks to be wrapped up like a sausage now. It's funny how they are all different.

Baby group was good, there were a few other babies there bobbys age and he loved having a look around.
