Evening all
MI3, I still occasionally have hormonal sobbing outbursts and Miss M is 18 months old. They got a bit less frequent at 6 weeks and tailed off after that though.
I think the own-room guidelines say six months, although Miss M is still in with us because we don't have a bedroom for her yet.
Hello Clairehow's you?
I'm going to bed soon, I'm shattered. I made Miss M a set of mitten minders today, I'm insanely pleased with myself.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Am I a really bad mummy, would it be better to attend to her "properly" but have the stress of sleep deprivation and OH and I screaming at each other????
Of course you are not a bad mummy! You've got to balance things out with what is better for you. If she can learn to settle herself and you get a bit better sleep, it's worthwhile as she'll have lovely happy parents instead of sleep deprived harassed parents yelling at each other
That sounds really scary Tia. I can understand how worried you must have been after last time. Pleased she is feeling better now xx
Good to see you back Claire. Is Charlie at nursery yet? Charlotte was born in May 07 and started last September and she loves it.Here I go again on my own....0 -
I was a wreck waiting on the ambulance. More due to flashbacks of when she was in resus and we almost lost her. Like to think that I don't often panic but I was yesterday. I still managed to throw stuff in a bag though. From now on I'm keeping a bag packed. It shall contain;
Many nappies (we went through 4 trying to get a urine sample then when I got one DH got his arm in the way and I spilled it all over myself)
Wipes
2 sleepsuits
2 vests
socks
bibs
outer clothing (just basic top and bottoms)
Bottles of juice
cereal bars or something
pants and socks for me
clean top for me (I had a snot and pee covered top on all day and night and day)
hair brush and bobble
Tinted moisturiser
Shampoo and body wash - travel sized
toothbrush and toothpaste
Notepad and pen (that works)
easy reading book
money
cuddly toy0 -
Definitely the money. It's awful enough being in hospital with a sick child, never mind when you have nothing to eat and the staff point you to the hospital shop and you only have 10p in your pocket. Been there, done that
Well I'll be off to bed in a minute. I'm so tired, and when I eventually get to sleep I've been having loads of really vivid dreams and tossing and turning all night so wake up feeling like I've only just gone to sleep
Not had a very good day today.
Sorry for the big downer there lol.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Morning
Good idea about keeping the bag packed Tia, but hope you don't need to use it.
I can sympathise with you delain. I'm not sleeping well at the moment as I've got cold and with my existing nose problem, I'm in a lot of pain. It also makes me snore which makes OH cross, so I take ages to get to sleep as I lay there worrying about snoringStill waiting for a CT scan appointment so no further forward with treatment.
Just staying home this morning and pottering on with Charlotte. Got work to do this afternoon while she is at nursery.
Have a good day all xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
Hi Ladies, can i come back? i popped in a month or so ago, after the birth of William. Today he is having his second round of Jabs! I can't believe he turned 12 weeks yesterday and was weighed as well, 12lbs 12.5!!! He is growing very fast and i am loving this time as he is making lots of funny noises and giggling away.
On the own room question, we moved William into his own room a couple of weeks ago as he made it very clear he did not like sleeping in our room anymore. He would fall asleep if i left the room, so we tried him in his own room, right next door to ours, and he slept really well. So we have continued and he is a very cheerful chap, i get the biggest grin when i go in in the morning, which helps lift me when i think he is getting up too earlyAlso he tends to wake up and then be happy to play downstairs for at least an hour before he wants any food, so all in all it has made a more relaxed and happy baby. But i do believe it was because this was the right thing to do for us and not because i read or heard any advice other than follow your heart, you often know best for your own baby.
I hope everyone had a good night and again i hope to on here more regularly, but the laptop goes to work with hubby and often is used for his work in the evening, but a friend has offered me her old one! So can't wait to get it then i will be online very regularlyBring it on
Back to menu planning and budgeting, something that vanished with pregnancy and the early weeks! (oops)
Hope everyone has a good dayLeopardlady

morning all x
leopardlady he is about the same age as bobs and I really want to put him in his own room. I know I'm sticking my hands in the moses basket when I don't need to. As he'll be sharing with his older brother though I don't want him disturbed too much. He was so fussy yesterday from 3:30 that I put him to bed at 5:30pm without a bath (he is normally in bed by 6:30), he woke me at midnight for a feed then stirred from 3am but I think would have settled better if I hadn't tried to stroke his head, turned the light on to see what time it was etc I eventually got up with him at 6:45 and he still wasn't desperate for a feed. This is really good as I'd been feeding him a small 120ml bottle when he stirred in the night before but it makes no difference to him still stirring for the rest of the night, always eyes closed. I might try moving the moses basket away from the edge of my bed. I really hate the putting a bottle on to warm up because he has cried out then turning round to see he has fallen back to sleep again, its quite frustrating in a funny sort of way - I don't remember this from the other 2 if they were awake they wanted feeding otherwise they were asleep.
Well both my parents (they're separated) have been on holiday in eygpt for the past 2 weeks and are both back now. So my dad is popping over tonight to see the little uns which will be good, someone to hold the baby whilst I cook dinner yay. And tomorrow after school we are going to pop to my mums to see how her holiday was (and borrow her scales). Mums holiday was deffinately eventful not sure what dads was like yet, I think he was further away from the trouble though.0 -

One poor chap had been phoned first thing and told his wife was having an em CS (for pre-eclampsia) within half an hour. They were then waiting till after lunch and staff wouldn't even give him a cup of coffee as they said there were vending machines.
Thats just awful and really what you need after just giving birth- a husband about to pass out through hunger and dehydration!
at mine the visitors werent allowed to have a cup of tea etc from the trolley in hall- when my mum went to make me a cup she got told off!:j0
