Well.....today is looking green for me!

    Breakfast
    2x weetabix (HEB)
    Milk (HEA)
    Light sugar (2.5 syns)

    Lunch
    Low fat supernoodles

    Dinner
    Cod - steamed (HEB)
    Potatoes
    Carrots
    Broccoli
    Mushrooms

Might have a little chocolate as a treat.

Hope you don't mind me asking Lil Me but have you tried Splenda instead of light sugar? I would really recommend it and it has no after taste like aspartame based sweetners, definitely worth a go if you haven't tried it.

Well, well now the air has cleared would anybody like to sympathise, encourage or inspire me. I gained 1.5 lbs this week and 3.5 lbs the week before and am feeling sorry for myself.:(

To be honest, if I wasn't going to SW with a friend I don't think I'd bother going back for a while.

    My earlier post gives details.

    Here's my EE day

Brekkie - 1 oz cereal with skimmed milk and a banana. (Incs A & B)

Lunch 2 slices grilled bacon, 1 egg fried in fry lite. 2 x Ryvita with scrape of Flora Pro-Activ. (Counted as syns) Few grapes.

Dinner. Lambs Liver & Onion (Cooked SW way) with potatoes and peas. Dessert - Raspberries (from freezer) with Meringue Nest (counted as syns).
  • I haven't been here for a few days as I've been ill, so just catching up with some of the latest posts now.

My first week is up today, and I am VERY happy with my weigh-in today as I have lost 10lbs! I am totally stunned about that, but chuffed to bits :j.

I wasn't particularly hungry the last couple of days with being ill, but forced myself to eat something anyway. The rest of the time I felt like I was eating loads more than usual, it's just that it's healthy food instead of the junk food I am used to!

This week I am planning on a walk around Central Park (not literally, but on a treadmill for my body magic challenge - and yes I know it's supposed to be a jog around Central Park but small steps eh :rotfl:). After tonight I have 5.3 miles remaining out of the initial 6.1 miles.

Also planning to look at some of the SW recipes online, to see what interesting things I can make this week. I've also just subscribed to SW magazine for a year, so hope it's a good read!

    Hi PL

Sorry - your post must have got missed, as you saw it got a little awful in here (which is not how things are normally at all :()

Its soooooo disheartening when you have a couple of bad weeks hun....but dont give up! :o

Looking at what you've listed today - the one thing I can see straight away is that there is hardly any superfree fruit & veggies there :( (peas arent superfree) you really want to try increasing these a bit and see if this helps.

Also from personal experience, I did 2 weeks when I was shovelling grapes down me like they were going out of fashion :p (and no other fruit) I actually had a little gain one week & a sts another.

If you have a look at the symbols at the side of the fruits grapes has no 's' so its not the best fruit choice you can make.....especially if you're having nothing else with them.

Just sit down with your book and see if you can pick any more fruits/veggies that you can add to your meals to bump up the volume to make sure you are getting the 1/3 that you need....Im sure this will make a difference ;)

Oh and drink LOTS of water too. x x
  • I'm looking for a chicken curry recipe (preferably syn free). Do you use the one with loads of different spices or is there a simpler way? I've done the lamb dhansak and that is OK but I fancy something a bit fruitier.[/QUOTE]

There is a GORGEOUS chicken curry recipe in the latest mag- Ive made it twice and its SOO good! even the OH does :) and its completly syn free.

If do dont have the latest mag- lemme know and I'll post the recipe for you hun :D

Thanks Sam, I don't mind you asking at all! I very rarely use sugar, I don't often have breakfast as milk doesn't really agree with me but I wanted to try and get things moving *ahem* sorry. :o. So I can cope with the small amount of syns as it's not worthwhile making the swap. But thank you anyway!

Hi Pennylane, looking at your menu for the day you I think need to eat more superfree! Or if you don't find you can eat enough superfree then try a green or red day instead then you don't need to worry about your third of a plate.

Remember that peas aren't superfree unfortunately.

Could anyone give me an alternative to butter please. I usually have a slice of wholemeal toast with poached egg for breakfast but need something different to butter so that I am not using my syns. Don't know if this is possible.

If you have Laughing Cow Light/xtra Light you could spread one of those on toast and have the rest some other way as your HEA (they're lovely as a JP filling, yum) :D

Penny, this doesn't look like much food to me. Could you perhaps pad it out a little? You could add mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks of fruit or perhaps yoghurt. Add extra to your lunch in the way of s/free foods, maybe tomatoes and mushrooms and more veg with dinner.

I know it sounds odd to eat more when you're gaining, but it really does work. Also don't forget to drink plenty of water (at least 2½ litres a day - sparkling is lovely).

hello everyone :) I have 35-45lbs to lose and start tomorrow on SW. I'm doing it on my own though cos I dont have the money to spend on classes. Got all the books on a CD from ebay so know what i can/cant have. There was a 'kickstart ur diet' 7 day meal plan thing included which I'm going to follow for the next week and want to lose ideally 3-4lbs since its my first week.

Well done everyone on this weeks losses, youve all done fab :D
