Official holiday gain.......... + 11 lbs  :rotfl::rotfl::D oh dear naughty dizzy eating all that guacamole
but it was rather good
Didnt get chance to have a funny turn as I had my friendly helpers propping me up on the scales lmao (think they were the ones having the funny turns
)
Opps :rotfl::rotfl: but you were on holiday so it is allowed, even more so that you had a fab time which is what really counts. I put on 7lbs by not going on holiday over Christmas :rotfl::rotfl:
Your next weigh in will be a good loss I can feel it as I would guess its a lot of water. I think some of mine is the same as a peek today mid WI week says I've lost 3.5lb so a nice 4lb loss by Tue will make me happy.
I need to lose the 7lb I put on so my new jeans fit again as when I bought them there was really no room for manouvre (sp?)

I was under the impression with EE that it was ok to not have superfree in your main meal, as long as you have extra for snacks? I find things like curry difficult to add SF food to, although I do wonder if the tomatoes in the sauce count?
Anyway, I've started to move toward green/red days when I know I'm going to eat a meal that I won't get a third superfree.
Currys can be difficult sometimes.. the tomatoes do count as superfree, along with the onion you use too but it wouldn't make it up to 1/3.
If I am just having a chicken curry I do try to add some veggies like chopped frozen spinich and mushrooms too just to top it up a tiny bit more, then have some extra fruit at snack time or extra veggies with another meal.
Or I make it into a chicken and veg curry and add chopped carrots and or green beans with the spinich and shrooms. Which would bring you up to 1/3 for sure.
As long as you have 1/3 of you OVERALL food intake as superfree you will be ok, but it can be difficult to guage at 1st so we just need to be aware more I suppose... better to have too much than too little."People buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like" - Clive Hamilton on Consumerism.0 -

Totally agree! Only problem is start-up costs. I'm so used to using packet ingredients that I have almost no herbs and spices in my store cupboard, and they are really expensive if you need to buy 4 or 5 for a single recipe! I'm trying to build up one at a time, unless anyone knows where they can be bought for cheap?
ive found the local indian shop near me does all the spices, at great prices compared to the supermarkets, and often in larger containers0 -
Just a quickie...
Co-op wholemeal pittas (1 = HEB) are currently on offer 2 packs for 80p :j

Goooooood Morning all
Well done on the losses :T
and hellooooooo to the newbies
Wootball -I don't know if the cal count on the wii fit is accurate -I just take what it says, I could well be as Im doing the boxing and step so Im using more effort than I do on a treadmill
hubby pointed out the other day that when I kick on the boxing my foot is higher than the TV :j so hopefully its right,,,, either way Im off my backside and doing something so "every little helps" -plus-and I never thought I would say this.... butttt I actually enjoy it too
Guns-Im sorry you found the pork on the dry side, ours was lovely n moist -but I have the advantage of being at home so I can flick the SC off when I thinks its done rather than having to leave it until I get home,,,,
So then, I got our room fettled last night and attacked the stairs and landing with the hoover whilst I was at it -hopefully that burnt a few more cals. I "may" attack the spare bedroom later -note, I only say "may"
.... it really wants doing -so we shall see
I have decided to get back to a red day again -yesterdays green day seemed to sit very heavy -even though I didn't have many carbs - in fact I only managed 1heB...so then my red day should look like this:-
- 250ml semi (A)
- 28g oats (B)
- banana
- home made vegetable soup
- tropical fruit
- activia (2.5)
- orange
- Goan pork curry (0.5)
- 1/4tsp oil (0.5) - to wedge:-
- 198g potato (B)
- frozen cherries
- activia (2.5)
- 250ml semi (A)
I have just stuck the pork curry in the slow cooker (had the meat marinading overnight) - Im really looking forward to it -it has become a fave, even though I don't usually like curryI think I may have to look at more recipes for curry to try out...
ooohh whilst I was fettling I dug out more of my crafting stuff *how much wool do I have*and some more x-stitch stuff now I KNOW I have masses of that
... Im considering making cards, bookmarks etc to sell to raise funds towards the charity trek Im hoping to do (if they ever get it on the websit so I can register
) - I don't normally x-stitch small things, I do big doozies instead, but Im willing to put up with ickle things if it raises money. So hopefully by the time I have sorted the spare room I will be able to get myself organised and make a start...
Anyway thats enough waffle for now,,,, I will get off.. have a great day everyone!!!-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

Well done Lil_Me and Primmer on your fab results! :TI was under the impression with EE that it was ok to not have superfree in your main meal, as long as you have extra for snacks? I find things like curry difficult to add SF food to, although I do wonder if the tomatoes in the sauce count?
Anyway, I've started to move toward green/red days when I know I'm going to eat a meal that I won't get a third superfree.
I agree with trixie about putting veg in the curry.
I have chicken curry a lot and when I'm on EE I add mushroom, onion, red/green peppers, green beans (and of course the tin toms that make the sauce) to make sure that I get my 1/3 superfree.
If OH doesn't fancy all that, or if it doesn't go (for example, tonight I'm doing a hm korma which is nicer without veggies in) then I do a seperate vege curry as a 'side dish' which is made entirely of SF veg and have 1/3 of my plate filled with that, 1/3 with the korma and 1/3 with rice. Also, the spicy veg gives a nice balance against the creamy curry.
EE today:
Brekkie
2 satsumas and an apple
28g Shredded wheat bitesize and 125ml rice milk (HEB + 1/2 HEA)
Pot of tea and 125ml semi skim (1/2 HEA)
Lunch
2 egg omelette with ham, onion, mushroom and courgette
1/2 tin of baked beans
Snack
Small bit of cold pasta (leftovers) with salad/veg and a smidge of Quark
Carrot sticks
Dinner
Chicken korma:
Chicken, total 0%, ginger, garlic, garam masala, tumeric, onion, red chilli, 6.5g creamed coconut (2 syns) 1 level tbsp ground almonds (4.5 syns) and fresh coriander
with boiled rice
1 mini onion bhaji (from Lidl - 42cals, est. 2 syns)
Vege curry side dish - onion, carrots, green beans, red pepper, curry powder and tin toms
Dessert
Mint Options (2 syns)
total syns - 10.5
Wehee I'm very excited as it's my Birthday Eve! Looking forward to being woken up tomorrow morning with Birthday cupcakes and pressies, then making maple syrup pancakes for brekkie! Flexi-syn day anyone!!?!! :beer:Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....

If anybody has any idea for slow cooker meals, please feel free to shout!!
I done a beef stew yesterday - stewing beef - all visible fat removed - swede - carrots - tin toms - onions - canelini beans & bovril & water
Was a little runny so tried to thicken with mashed potato - was ok but still a little runny
I served it with rice which was lovely & filling - perfect comfort food!
The leftover rice i have put in the slow cooker with the left overs & some extra swede (i love the stuff)
This morning it was nice & gloopy (SP?)
Over the weekend i am doing a turkey curry in the slow cooker - using toms, spices, onions, mushrooms, peppers & any other veg i fancy!
Chilli is perfect for slow cooker as is spag bol and even a cottage/shepards pie (cook without mash topping & just serve with mash on side or once cooked put mash on & top with cheese & bake uncovered in oven)
Soups are fantastic - i don't measure anything - just chuck it in!
The ham minestrone from the extra easy cook book is nice in slow cooker - just add the pasta about 30ish mins before serving!

Sounds good MrsM!
Just a thought, but I know someone has ressurected a SW friendly slow cooker recipe thread, is there one around here for general recipes? If not, shall we create one?
Today is a tough day for me, and I'm struggling to work out exactly what I'm going to do!
I *think* I'm going for a green day, as I'm going out to dinner where there is no superfree and I'm struggling to syn everything properly.
Lunch is definately going to be a chicken casserole (2 syns). Chicken is 1HEB with 200g rice.
Dinner I'm going out and really my best option is a chicken curry with rice. That's going to be 26.5 syns with free rice. I think there will be too much chicken to even consider counting it as another HEB and using the 14.5 syns for the sauce.
The other option for dinner would be either steak/chicken and chips but then I would have to syn the rice at lunch and also the chips which would be astronomical.
In the past when I've eaten here I've just had a day off plan and eaten what I want, but I am determined to do it properly and I WILL NOT CHEAT!
So that would be 28.5 syns for the day incl 2 HEBs, no HEAs.
Tomorrow will be a syn free day, so I will steal tomorrows syns and use them today.0
