Syn-free on Extra Easy:
1 large onion
2 garlic cloves
500g extra lean mince
1 can kidney beans
1 can chopped tomatoes
1 red pepper
1 green pepper
1 level tbsp tomato puree
chilli powder
Fry onion with fry light, add mince and cook until brown.
Add tomatoes, peppers, tomato puree and simmer form approx 20 mins.
Add kidney beans and chilli powder and heat for about 5 more mins.
Serve with boiled rice.
Sorry to nit pick but...
Tomato Puree, 1 level tbsp, 1/2syn on all plans
So not quite syn free but if split into several portions it would be negligible0 -
Try searching for Joe's sausages online - i believe thier sausages are free!
Do you like quorn? I think most of the quorn sausages are free
I know a sausage shop near me sells sausages that are 1/2 each & tesco & morrisons do some for about 1/2 syn or 1 syn each but i don't normally buy 'normal' sausages anymore!
Thanks for the reply.. Id otn mind quorn, just my OH doesnt like it. If i buy sausages from the supermarket I like the debbie and andrew (97%) meat u can get from tesco... though not found the syn values for those yet0 -

Yeah, I adapted the recipe from the website and assumed that if they didn't count the tomato puree then my adding peppers and removing some spices shouldn't make much difference! Having said that I usually add alot more puree (cos I love my chilli to taste very tomato-ish) and count 1/2 syn per portion.:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. William Shatner

What I am wondering is
When I lose my stone, if I go back to normal eating, ie not snacking late at night and boozing too much will the weight go straight back on, I dont get how people can put on 3lb in a week unless they seriously pig out!!!
thank

3lb in a week could be a combination of anything - alcohol and food intake are just one. The most common is water retention, which can be caused by exercise as well as salt intake. One lb of body fat roughly calculates as 3500 calories, and I know I didn't consume an additional 8750 calories this week. What I did do however was drink a lot on NYE and eat a Chinese on Sunday - loaded with salt and therefore I'll be retaining water like a badass.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

I always find adding some spices can make food.. especially chilli taste great. I would normally use the following recipe which is I got from the SW website and is very nice
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 fresh chillies, deseeded and chopped
2 tsps ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp paprika
A pinch of cayenne pepper
1 x 397g/14oz can chopped tomatoes
284ml/½ pint stock
salt and ground black pepper
454g/1lb extra lean beef mince (or Quorn mince)
1 x 198g/7oz can red kidney beans, drained
chopped fresh coriander leaves, to garnish
1 level tablespoon of tomato puree0 -
Get some green tea down you to help with water retention!0

A good idea would be to stay on the plan, its not like you have to buy strange foods etc and its a good way to keep your diet reasonably healthy, you could always increase the number of syns you have a day until you find a level where you don't gain or lose and see how that works."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0
