Well done to all those brilliant losers - you are the inspiration for those of us just starting out:T:T

    Today was green again.....
    No breakfast - wasn't hungry
    Lunch - 3 ryvitas (B), 3 laughing cows light (A), orange, grapes
Dinner - quorn fajita strips, new potatoes, spinach, cucumber, tomatoes, beetroot, 1 babybel light (A), boiled egg, dollop of tomato ketchup (1 syn)

    Total
    1.5 A choices
    1 B choice
    1 syn so far

plus lots of diet coke and sugarfree squash

Still have lots of syns to use up so may have a choc digestive or two later.

Not finding this too hard at the moment - the hardest thing is to use the syns up. Does anyone else find this?

No breakfast won't help your weight loss, you have to stoke the boiler :D. Even if you get up late or aren't hungry you should have something, a bit of fruit maybe or a yog but do eat something as it will help.
Also you don't seem to be eating much at your meal times, your lunch for instance. Not enough there for my liking but I'm a greedy cow :rotfl:.
I know it sounds odd but the more you eat the better your weight loss will be, also you should make sure to use your syns as this helps too. They are there to be used so fill your boots :D.
I admit I don't always use all mine but I'm at target so don't need them as much. Try using them in your cooking or with meals i.e. sauces, mayo that type of thing. They don't all have to be chocolate and naughty stuff.

Sorry if it feels I'm nagging but am only trying to help :D good luck x
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

How many syns are curry pastes? Like the pataks jar ones? Normally I'd check online but even the computer has a virus and died earlier!!!

Hope you feel better soon! All the Patak's pastes are less than 2 syns per 1 level tbsp. I use them all the time! I tend to say 2 syns per portion of curry.

I made a korma using the paste and low fat (0.1%) fromage frais, turned out alright!
  • I wouldn;t say either cottage cheese or quark actually taste like any REAL cheese I've ever tasted. Add some of the real stuff, weigh it so you know the syns or HEs in the total thing. If you buy Cathedral Light Extra Mature Cheddar you can hardly (hmmm, hardly hardly) tell the difference. Cats can tell the difference, but humans can't :D

I did add some Low Low grated cheese to the top, but I do love cathedral city will have to buy a block of this for my next attempt.
Did you add milk to the eggs? If you did, thats probably where the water came from, try adding a bit less next time.

Nope never added any milk, I wondered if the problem was the watery bit from the cottage cheese, but someone else mentioned a few pages back about the mushrooms producing lot of water, and they said they miked them and drained them off, so will try this out! Today it wasnt to bad, but when it was still warmish last night there was quite a lot of water.
Although mine have never been watery at the bottom, they do have a slight wetness to them, but only slight. Did you leave it to cool for a long time, cos sometimes if you put things in a container then in the fridge they get condensation and can make the food go wet. I always think I over do the filling, I put in LOADS of mushrooms, and when its cooking it rises and gets bigger and bigger and I think I'm gonna have a mutant quiche on my hands lol, but once I take it out of the over it shrinks back to a normal size! All I can suggest is that you try the suggestions people have put on here, and just keep experimenting! Good luck and I hope you find a recipe that is right for you.

I never put it in the fridge or a container, left it in the flan dish and covered with a tea towell over night. Mine rised high too haha I put far to much stuff in it, i mixed too much up and didnt want to waste any. On reflection, I wonder if it was the potatoes where I went wrong :o I sliced the raw spud and boiled the slices for about 10 mins, let them cool for 5 mins in a sieve and put them in the base of dish. They probably still contained stacks of water

Regardless i won't be wasting it, got a big slice for my pack lunch tomoro in work with a tub of salad :D

Thank you all for your quiche feedback and help, 2nd quiche will be better!!! XX
  • See you soon Dizzy, have a good time. I'll look up your fish recipe for Consultant in a mo, it's just a few pages back I know.

Thank you - I must have missed it :o

Talking about scenic routes (well, vaguely) I had a strange conversation with a friend the other day. She's been going to SW classes for about 3 years, she says she's lost 2 stone but I don't know tbh, it's definitely been up and down a lot; anyway I said something about me being at target, and she scathingly remarked: "Yes, but you set your target yourself!" as if that was the wrong thing to do. I asked her if she'd ever set a target and she said "Yes, my target is to lose one pound a week". I pointed out that she will never get to the point of classes being free, but she didn't seem to get it. I thought all classes were run the same, where WE take control of our weight loss, our targets (and our occasional gains).

All groups are run the same (or should be) but many Consultants don't ask members to set a target when they first join. Some members know exactly what they want to achieve, but for lots, they just want to wait and see what they can achieve.

You always get at least one like your example who doesn't know whether it's Christmas or Easter :rotfl:
I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Morning all, oh dear, 2.5lb on this week :o
I really need to go back to basics, so I am 'starting' today from scratch lol
I am now 4.5lb heavier than my lightest on the plan so I need to sort it out!

I sat last night and done a food plan for the week on google spreadsheets, so hopefully that will keep me on track, also going to try and commit to half hour excersise a day, more of possible but don't want to overdo it, my main excersise is walking to the car

I've also started 'flyladying' last night so that is going to keep me busy and moving, need to prepare for the housemove! I worked out that last year I became top of the list about 3 weeks after moving up to band A so don't want to leave everything to the last minute, as I usually do with EVERYTHING!!!!!!
Have a good day peoples x

Been AWOL for a bit as house is getting done up and is in an uproar!

Not been able to weigh myself so don't know what damage has been done, determined to get back on the straight and narrow now.

Not had chance to read back, hope everyone is ok:)

DKAM - hugs - start again from day 1 and maybe keep a food diary if that would help. You can do it!

Guns - hope house is sorted soon, always hard to plan and prepare meals when house is being sorted.

My OH is away with work this week so did a big shop yesterday to ensure I have lots of good food in. I am also planning on trying out a few new recipes and using them for lunches and dinners. Will be getting lots of exercise as OH normally drops me a train station in morning and picks me up again in the evening and instead I am going to walk rather than drive and park my car.

B- ff yogurt, strawberries and pineapple
    S - 2 alpen lights (heb) apple
L - jacket spud, cheese (Hea) salad, quavers (4.5)
    S - 2 clementines
D - cauliflower and potato korma curry from Decembers sw magazine
  • HUFF!

Just back from getting my next sick note. Another 6 weeks off work! Don't know what I was expecting really, but its disappointing to have it put into a specific time frame like that, especially since I feel well in myself! Doc wouldn't sign me back on to light duties because I've got another op on it coming up (not that they have given me a date yet!). Meh.

Sorry for the rant. On the bright side, I'm feeling very healthy today with fruit and yoghurt for breakfast, a pot of vegetable soup bubbling away on the stove, and Mmmmmm fish pie and broccoli for dinner tonight!

wow, thats great to know, I used to use these all the time before sw so is nice to know that they arnt that bad. I think I probably need to get one of those books of syn values as might make menu planning/shooping easier
