Back from Paris but not really been able to catch up with everything you're all up to. This thread moves fast!!!

(As expected) I found it hard to stay on plan while I was away. I shared a bottle of wine with DH at dinner every night (about 13 syns?) and although I made sensible SW food choices I couldn't control the cooking. That being said, I didn't eat any bread so maybe as HEs that compensated for oil in cooking/salad dressings.

I'm back on plan but I have two meals out planned for this week and can't make my usual WI. I'm determined to go to another class to assess the damage and encourage me to stay on track. My SW route is definitely scenic at the moment!!

I've been having a quiche-fest the last couple of weeks as we were having a party and I wanted to make some SW friendly food. I had never made the quiche before and after 1 ok attempt and 2 good attempts I found the best way was spray oil the bottom of the flan dish, then add thinly sliced potatoes on the bottom and cooked for about 10 mins, then I mix eggs (5-6) with quark and fat free natural fromage frais, season and then add your extras, i have mushrooms, red onion, red pepper and sliced ham ( i don't pre-cook any of these), I then mix them in with the egg mixture and pour over the base. It normally takes anout 30-40 mins and the one I did for the party today suprised people when they found out I had made it, they thought I had bought it - and best of all it was free :j
Did you find yours to have some water at the base of the quiche once cooked and cooled? I cooked mine for an hour in the end cos each time I checked it, it didn't seem set. Took it out after an hour cos I guessed if it wasn't ready at that point, it would never be. It was all firm, but there was a watery bit at the bottom when I removed a slice. I think I also over did it with the fillings too. Second attempt should be better, I just don't know what caused the watery bit  Yours sounded good, you would never have thought mine was shop bought haha

But I did come home and cook a nice low syn dinner, then spend about an hour on the toilet at 2am!
I'm bloody nackered today, but got to get everything ready for school tommorrow!
Best get cracking really, have a good one peeps x

Good morning all :D -from a very rainy place :(

Well done on the losses folks :T
My scales say 1.5lbs off for me this week :j ..so just 0.5lb to get my 8st shiney.... it WILL be mine next week..I can almost touch it ;)

So then Im going to try and shake things up again this week ..so I will be doing all the plans pretty much :p-today is EE and looks like this:-
    • 250ml semi (A)
    • melon
    • pineapple
    • chicken breast
    • mashed potato/swede (1) -for butter
    • carrots
    • cabbage
    • romanesko
    • peas
    • sweetcorn
    • jacket potato
    • cottage cheese
    • lettuce
    • cucumber
    • tomato
    • onion
    • red pepper
    • tickled cabbage
    • tickled beetroot
    • activia (2.5)
    • 250ml semi (6)
    • fibre plus bar (B)
so I make that 1A+B and 9.5 syns ...meaning 9.5/70 for the week
As much as I love success express (cos I get 2A+B and I like lots of veggies:p) ... I found that it made it even harder to use my syns -plus -by the time I had eaten my veggies I was getting full so wasn't managing my "main" bit of my meals so well :p-so this week I will be able to use more syns without trying ... I will need to spend 6 on extra milk everyday for a start ;).. so Skintslimmer -Im taking up your challenge *gulp* :rotfl:
Im planning a lazy day today... I have lunch under way and some tomato sauce on the go in the remoska, the Goan pork is in the slow cooker annnnnd the chinese pork is in the fridge marinading until the slow cooker is free... sooooooo Im going to sit on the sofa and go through some more magazines....
Have a lovley day everyone and keep up the great work!!

:rotfl: If you feel it helps go ahead, it won't do any harm :)

The theory behind FO is well tested and most people (that's most, not necessarily all) when told they can eat as much as they like of a food like potatoes/pasta/rice, will only eat so much. The calorie count of that amount is often far less than you would imagine - especially if, like me, you eat biiiig portions.

I love the fact that after donkey's years of calorie counting my way to a slimmer figure (and even WW point counting once  .....I know I'm washing out my mouth as I type), it's been a revelation to me to be able to follow the plans as they're set out and find the weight just dropping off, week after week.

I've lost 4½ stone with SW and never counted a calorie!

Wooohoo well done Consultant !! :T I personally cannot see the point in counting calories AND doing SW (if you're doing the plan to the letter then there's no reason to surely??) but then again its a free country ;)

    Morning Lovelies

Well We are setting off today to stay with Mr Dizzy's relatives until wednesday, so Im going to be a bit in the unknown as far as SW goes :o
Ive packed a big tub of chopped melon & pineapple in my bag tho and some plums to eat before meals ;)

Update on the experimental spicy fish......

It was actually nice :pI hate fish _pale_ (I mean hate it with a passion, unless its from the seaside smothered in thick batter and salt & vinegar with a large portion of chips :rotfl:)
But this was very good, it was a bit messy grilling it, I had to make a kind of 'dish' out of tin foil as the yog coating was all over the place.....but once it went all charred on one side I flipped it over-spooned the remaining stuff from the marinade on and grilled that side til it charred, then bunged it in a ASDA WM Pitta with shredded lettuce, onion, cucumber, tom, and some yog, mint, chilli sauce nomnomnom
there was too much fish for my pitta so I had the rest on a plate with more salad & sauce. Even Mr Dizzy was impressed by my experiment (for a change ......he sometimes gets very nervous & gets the rennies out):rotfl::rotfl:

Righteo have a good few days All.......Be good.....keep out of the food fairies way!! the door to the tank is open :A
