    Morning all.
I'm feeling better this morning, mainly thanks to having the first full nights sleep in about 2 and a half years lol and though that Grandad would not want me to be sad and eat crap and get fat lol
I did stay on track all day yesterday.....until I scoffed all my caramel freddos :o think from now on I will just buy one at a time, I can't be trusted not to impulsively binge when something bad happens
I'm off to a kiddies party today so am going to fill up on a massive lunch so I won't be tempted to pick, Not sure what I'm going to have yet.

Do you mean the Meatfree tesco lincolnshire sausages?

You do know that they are syns? (1.5 syns each )

But they are worth it - taste more 'meaty' than quorn sausages!

Just like the burgers tesco meatfree are 1 syn each and quorn are 0.5syn each - but i would much rather have the tesco ones! Better flavour!

    Hi there
only realised this yesterday:o but they are certainly worth the 1/12 arent they?
Still on green and all well :)
    thanks again much appreciated

  • Hi I'm new to this thread. I have decided to commit to losing weight and want to try the SW way. I've been a SW member in the past but never got further than a few weeks as going to a club just doesn't suit me. I have old books, and an old syn book - do you think I'm ok just 'going for it' with what I have and the use of this thread or are there any good books you recommend? What is 'Extra Easy' for example - when I belonged to SW it was mainly red or green days and the combined thing (can't remember what that was called).

I have put on loads :o of weight since I had a baby nearly eleven years ago and the wake up call for me is that my periods have stopped with no apparent reason other than my weight. I am going to take it a half stone at a time and Mrs M - you are a great inspiration for me as I need to lose about 8 stone which seems a near impossible task :(

Any tips to get started very welcome - will spend the next day or so planning and buying and sorting out my cupboards and will begin eating the SW way on Tuesday when my son goes back to school

  • Food today:
    EE
    Brek: Tangerines
Lunch: HM Veg Soup & turkey rasher butty HEB

Tea: Off to the local Harvester, plan on having half roast chicken (remove skin of course!), jacket potato and lots of helping to the free salad bar.

Supper: Big bowl of strawberries with ff fromage frais

As always HEA is milk in cups of tea.

Will probably use some syns up at the Harvester, with a sachet of marg on spud, and maybe a spoon of low fat mayo.

4 weeks today on this diet, and I love it, in fact I shouldn't call it a diet its my new lifestyle, I feel great, energetic and never hungry :T

Hi & welcome to the thread ;)

If you go to the 1st page there is a full explanation of the EE plan. You can probably get away with using yout old books.....but many of the syn values will have changed (depending how old your books are)
you could always go along to 1 class to get all the new books, including a current food directory then just continue to do it from home (which is how some people choose to do it)

Most supermarkets do deals on fruit & veggies (I look on the 'my supermarket' site before I go to see whos doing what) this week I got pineapple for £1 and 2 melons for £3, 2 punnets of yellow plums £2 at MrS, last week bags of satsumas for £1 at Asda.

Frozen Berries are always cheaper especially as they arent in season at the mo, the same goes with buying veggies, look for things that are in season.....or buy frozen. Asda are doing the Birds eye steam fresh bags 4 for £3. And ALdi have their weekly 6 fruit & veg items at a really cheap price (69p I think)

Look for reduced veg & prep & freeze them to use when you're ready ;) It doesnt have to cost a fortune ;)

Been to Mr T's for the weekly shop and bought tons of fruit and veg and a bit of dairy stuff. I took a list with me based on the meals I have planned for the coming week and stuck to it.

Today is, as always, a green day (veggie)....

Breakfast - none (got up later than normal)
Lunch - pasta and sauce (1 syn)
Dinner - homemade bombay potato (2 syns), chana masala (tescos, 8 syns) and rice (free)
Snacks - grapes and babybel lights

    A choice - 125 ml ss milk
    B choice - maybe 2 babybel lights

    Syns total - 11
(only had 4.5 yesterday so not worried about being 1 syn over;))

Have also walked the dogs twice and cleaned the whole house so have been quite active - need to walk dogs again later.

I've been a very naughty girl these past few days, and need nailing to the tank! 705_angry_smiley_hitting_his_friend.gif

I had an order for some cakes earlier in the week, that took 2 solid days to make/decorate. The kitchen was overrun with cake paraphernalia, so OH suggested we had fish n chips on Tuesday night. I had a small piece of fish, but ate the batter, and most of the chips. :(
On Wednesday we were out delivering cakes, loading up van with ceramics/art stuff for an exhibition that my cakes are also at in London. Took longer with clients than expected, and ended up having to eat a McDonalds that night.

Yesterday we were doing my sister a favour, drove up to W.Yorks to collect a car, which turned out to be 7 different shades of red & falling apart, so we chose not to buy it and left empty handed (at least she still has her £). Got stuck on a ring road that seemed to lead to nowhere nice at all (was in a dive of a town, where I had to give way to a horse & cart junk guy on a roundabout!!), and eventually found somewhere for a loo stop & lunch... KFC!!! We didn't like the 'vibe' in there either, it was really odd and made OH and I both feel very uncomfortable, so we ate and left asap. Strange it affected both of us, as I thought it was just me being a bit picky, so said nothing, then he said 'can we go, I don't like the feel of this place'... he's a 6ft+ strapping bloke, so I was relieved my feelings were confirmed.

I go months without fast food, then eat it 3 days on the trot!! I don't even really like fast food either.

I feel doubly guilty because I've not been in the gym this week either, due to being so busy. Oh well, the best I can do is damage limitation this weekend, and then knuckle back down to it all next week.

I've made a SW quiche for dinner tonight, so at least I'm going in the right direction again.

I hope you remove the nether regions of the toe rag that did this when you catch up with them!
I always buy lean mince (it's generally easier to find) and cook it off, pour it into a seive, dab well with kitchen roll and call it free. It may not be exactly what should be done, but once it's cooked out, there can't be any fat left IMO :D

Thank you for those words of commonsense. I get very upset when some s/mkts just don't stock extra lean mince, and have to leave without any, and therefore have my meal plan screwed up!
    Hi all
I started off with the best intentions today but my hearts not in it today.
Mum just called, Grandad died about an hour ago, I'm !!!!ing gutted, was going to see him on Tuesday :(
Why can my family not just catch a break :(

So sorry for your family's loss, and so soon after losing your Nan. Life seems so unfair at times, but you're a tough old birdie, so I know you'll get through this.

Good luck with finding a lovely new home for your family soon. Long overdue for you. xx

Dizzy your dream story did make me laugh. I have a reoccurring dream of supermarket shopping, altho' it's always a different shop, different stuff I'm shopping for, but I've been having it for about 25 years now very regularly. I'd have been that protective over an apple crumble though, so can understand your thinking. :o

    Food plan today: EE
B - Hifi bar [heb], banana, nectarine
L - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, beans, cabbage, swede, potatoes, cheese (4 syns)
D - SW quiche, mixed salad, salad cream (2 syns)
    Milk in teas [hea]
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
