I joined SW last night so today is my first full day of EE. I'm a little bit confused so was wondering if someone could please check my day's plan and make sure I'm not way off!!
Breakfast: Shape ff strawberry yogurt, banana
Lunch: Pasta & sauce (1/2 syn) hm coleslaw, 1tsp light mayo (1syn)
Dinner: Pork loin chop (no fat) loads of roasted veg (frylight) poss jacket potato.
Snack: watermelon and satsumas.
Can't think what else to eat but I've not had any he or enough syns!! B*gger, I'm stuck now!! If I had supper of 2 small slices hm toast, 2 babybel and 1tsp light spread (1.5 syns) have I covered everything??
Thanks in advance!

You're not too far off Anna - you could do with putting a bit more salad/veg/fruit with your lunch to suit it being an EE choice.
Your tea sounds lovely ... I'm having pork tonight with root veg and greens but I quite fancy your roast veg now
With regards to your Healthy Extras what kind of thing would you normally snack on at night? You could have a couple of Alpen light bars or ryvita with a bit of cheese or toast as you say above. Don't eat for the sake of it but try to fit your Healthy Extras in somewhere as you can't carry them over

I'm having a bit of a moment - I've got a SW quiche made up from tuna, sweetcorn, mushrooms, red pepper and an onion. I quite fancy this with some baked beans rather than a salad - would you say this suits the EE principle of one third super free??0

Hi Anna, your day plan looks goodTomorrow you could have some toast with your breakfast, but for today your cheese on toast (mmmm how about grilling it? Yum Yum!) tonight sounds ideal. Don't you drink any hot drinks with milk in? If so remember to count the milk in those as syns or a healthy extra - for the first few days try measuring a healthy extra's worth of milk into its own jug and using that, so you know how many drinks you can get out of it.
You could also roast the veg in 1 tbsp olive oil if you don't really want the cheese on toast, as that would count as a healthy Extra B choice.
You could use up some more syns with some chocolate if you fancy it, or some cheese or butter in your jacket spud?Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

Hmm probably not strictly, because wouldn't the only superfree be the mushrooms, red pepper and onion?
You could still do it and have some fruit before/after. My consultant says you can either do 1/3 of the plate, or 1/3 of the day, depending on what works for you :0
Just had a snack size bag of M&Ms - wasn't worth 5 syns, I'd rather have a fibre plus!Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

Thanks SS x I came to that conclusion myself but by then I was absolutely starving and have now scoffed the lot! Don't know what's the matter with me today - so hungry! I had half a gala melon at 12pm so that will help and I'll be sure to have some fruit this afternoon.
Lol @ M&Ms - isn't it strange how our taste buds change and we start to prefer SW friendly snacks!0 -
Talking of SW friendly snacks, has anyone else tried the new hi-fi bars? Deluxe belgian chocolate!! Oh they are scrummy! 6 syns or 1 HEB.0

Skintslimmer wrote: »Well my innocent veg pot according to minimins is 5.5 syns but I don't think thats right - please could someone run it through the calculator? The biggest ingredient is brown rice, serving size 380g. Per 100g: 3.2g protein, 9g carb, 2.9g sugars, 2.1g fat, 6.1g fibre. Many thanks!!
Which pot is it? Also do you have the calories? (OMG that word again!). We need calories, protein, carbs, fat and serving size
(although I have to say from looking at them they're not as good as they should be).0 -
Thanks Lil me, hadn't spotted the lack of calories!
Its in the bin now, so don't worry about it.
My lunch was scrummy, I re-created a dish I had in a Buddist monastry, so it brought back memories! :T Here is the recipe:
Serves 2, or 1 with seconds (Guess which I did!)
Red lentils (no precise quantities I'm afraid - 2 handfuls, maybe 3?
Vegetable stock to cover them - not loads as you cook it off.
1 aubegine
Small onion
Mixed herbs
1 clove of garlic, chopped
1 tin of chopped tomatoes
Healthy extra of cheese - I used mini mozzarella balls, the monks used goats cheese which was LUSH! Would also work with cheddar.
Cook red lentils for 10 mins in the stock, and cook until most of the stock is absorbed/evaporated. Add chopped onion, garlic and herbs, and tin of tomatoes and simmer down. Meanwhile dry fry thinly slices aubegine (I didn't bother with fry light just a non-stick pan) and stack to one side. Take a loaf tin and layer the lentils and aubegine, finishing with lentils, then top with the cheese. Cook at 200 degrees for 30 mins, checking half way through.
Its nice served with salad, and could be adapted to use up almost any vegetables.Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
