Good morning World
Well I managed 0.5 lb off last night, which I was quite happy with seeing as *week is with me  And I won the raffle.....a big bag of fruit including a big pineapple and some yellow plums :j (that will save me some pennies on the shopping list)
were going away on sunday til wed morn to stay with Mr Dizzy's family, SW may prove a bit tricky as I'm in their hands as to what I get to eatso Im going to do lots of superspeed things between now & then just in case.
today will be an EE day
B oatso simple golden syrup HEB+1.5 1/2 HEA 1/2 HEA for teas
yellow plums
L chicken tikka slices, lettuce, cucumber, tom, onion, cous cous, yog mint sauce
T sw spag bol pineapple & ff greek yog
Syns 1.5 oatso 2 choc options 6 hifi bar = 9.5
snacks fruit yog?0 -
Well my innocent veg pot according to minimins is 5.5 syns but I don't think thats right - please could someone run it through the calculator? The biggest ingredient is brown rice, serving size 380g. Per 100g: 3.2g protein, 9g carb, 2.9g sugars, 2.1g fat, 6.1g fibre. Many thanks!! Chuffed that the Nakd fruit bars are only 5 syns each, they are lurvely and because they are healthy (pure dried fruits and nuts, no processed carp) I shall feel more like my halo is staying in place whilst eating them!
Yesterday's eating was:
weetabix (2 & A &
supernoodles with butter (3) red kidney beans, quark, chives
small glass of wine (6)
4 mini eggs (1 syn each?)
innocent veg pot (5.5?)
So without the veg pot I'd be spot on 15 syns, with it I'd be over 20  Still, I'm counting it as an on track day, because it was all I had for dinner and really a 300 calorie tea is not going to break the calorie bank (many apologies to consultant31 who is probably screaming at her screen right now!I also double check on calories to see just how good or bad I have been
)
Today I am debating having a nakd bar with brekkie, but think I want to save my syns. There is a pear cider in the fridge gently calling my name, so if I go syn free all day I'll have it, but if not I'm happy to leave it on ice for another day or two. Maybe I shall save up some syns from today to indulge in it tomorrow or sunday. Hmm...
today's plan:
I'm trying for EE principals but on a green day: so 1/3 superfree, but no red foods, and may or may not have 2 healthy extras.
milk in tea (either 2 or part of HE, I'm not sure yet)
melon
yoghurt
apple and nana
Lentil moussaka - will post recipe if its any good (a) & salad
Macaroni Cheese (got to have ketchup with this! 2) & salad (yes I'm having a salad fetish again)
Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Not meaning to be funny here, but I dont get why you follow the SW plan if you dont agree with it Woot?
And how can you work out someones calorie intake from their food diary when they dont give any portion sizes?
The plan is tried & tested, and has helped millions lose (and keep the weight off if done properly) SO I really do think you should hold your tongue a bit before jumping to conclusions about other peoples menus and the SW plan itself.
There were portion sizes in there. The actual portion sizes that were given (500ml semi skimmed, 1 avocado, 25g dried pasta, 2 ryvita, 1 fibre plus, 1 activia) came to 850 calories. Add the wine and the veg and you're looking at circa 1000.
Anyway, it's irrelevant whose menu I used that just happened to be the first example I spotted. Like I said, it wasn't a critique of the menu or MrsM who has done astonishingly well and should be congratulated - I was just providing an example of how we can follow the plan to the letter but still not take in the calories we should be, which was the discussion that Lil_Me and Consultant were having. The aim of SW is to lose weight healthily and to keep it off, but it can be very easy to not achieve these aims whilst still sticking to the plan.
I enjoy SW and enjoy the benefits it's having on me and the OH but it's more about education than criticising the plan. I agree with the methodology (syns aside) and continue to follow it week in week out. SW is phenomenal but it still takes a little bit of effort from the consumer if it's going to be a lifelong solution. It won't do all the work, the consumer needs to be sensible and have the knowledge of their own body if it's going to be a lifelong change - that's all I was saying, it wasn't a knock at SW and more about giving advice to the people on it that they still need to do a bit of housekeeping.
I've said before, people get their backs up far too easily when it looks like anything negative might be said about SW. My post wasn't even against SW, but if it was people need to realise that SW isn't beyond reproach and discussing the plan can sometimes be just as beneficial as being on it!! :A
If you want to discuss it further please PM me, I'm sick of having to get out a shield in this thread every time the brigade get started.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

Exactly - that's all it's about. Taking 2 minutes to check that you're eating enough, and being sensible and mature enough to keep tabs on what you're doing whilst following the plan.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

Morning all
Well done on the losses folks :j
oohhh and Dizzy -lucky you on all the fruit :T... chop it up and take it with you when visitig the other "dizzies" -hope you have a good time :j
Thought I would pop in before I get on with some more sorting...lots more humpin n dumpin to be done today :rotfl:*some off you have verrrry wude minds* :T
So then -another success express day for me -that should look like this:-- 250ml semi (A)
- apple
- frozen cherries/blueberries
- activia (2.5)
- avocado (7.5)
- salmon fillet
- tickled cabbage
- tickled beetroot
- tomatoes
- peppers
- melon
- jacket potato
- cottage cheese
- lettuce
- cucumber
- tomato
- onions
- peppers
- tickled cabbage
- tickled beetroot
- 250ml semi (A)
- melon/pineapple
Hubby and I were talking last night and as nice as dinner was -we both agreed that we still enjoy jacket and cottage cheese more....so we have decided that we are pretty much sticking to jacket, cottage cheese n salad for our evening meals
-we WILL have something "proper" for Sunday lunch (and an occasional chinese pork/goan curry etc) ... it won't get boring as we LOVE LOVE LOVE it and to keep my system guessing I will be having my variety at lunch times and so will hubby -in his packed lunch
....
Im begining to think that I have issues with flour as after that bit of pasta last night I had cronic stomach cramps and wind-delightful
(it was much worse than dynorods effects ) I would have sent myself into the garden -but the enviromental health would have been called out
) .... so I won't be having any more in a hurry... Im sure that if I can have no bread for 40 odd weeks giving up pasta will be no problem..
anyway I will get off for now..
Have a great day everyone.....-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

wind your neck in woot :A I dont want to discuss it further,It just gets a bit tedious sometimes thats all hearing the same complaints all the time.
If you follow the plan as you are supposed to free foods 2/3, 1/3 superfree, plus your HE choices and any syns to make your cooking more exciting or as a 'naughty' then you will be getting the amount of calories recommended in a day.
Its when people start doing success express & tweaking the plan by overfilling their plates on superfrees that the calorie counts go down. :wall:;)
Off for my Physio now catch you all later0 -
I understand what you are saying Woot - it is easy in a busy day to miss 'extras' and to just have the 3 meals per day and end up with a low calorie count. When you work full time and have a family there are always other things to think about and if you are not feeling hungry then food is not top priority.
I agree with you that at times it is good to check your consumption for both ends of the scalesMags - who loves shopping0 -
Yep, absolutely. I'm not sure how my message got misconstrued but meh, c'est la vie.Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

I totally agree that there are times when everyones day goes to 'pot'and your eating plan suffers, I get his when I have my neuro hosp appointments  but my point to woot was that if you follow the plan as its written......then you should not fall below the recommended calories (or go too far above them
)
where people are looking at their calorie intakes and finding them excessively low, then they are very probably tweaking the plan and veering more to the success express side and having more superfree than free in their intake.0 -
MrsM - how about a tablespoon of olive oil for at least one of your B choices? You could either have it mashed into the inside of the potato or drizzled over your salad with some balasamic vinegar?Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0
