  • Congratulations and well done to Mrs M and to Magnolia - both brilliant losses :T :j

When you come home again Dizzy, please share the fish recipe (or tell me where to find it if you've already posted). I looove fish :p but never quite know what to do apart from steam it, which can get a mite boring.

Susiebear, did you put mushrooms in your quiche? They give off a lot of water during cooking and I've found that they do have a tendency to make everything wet.

WannaBrich, I've made the mashed potato pizza a couple of times and have found that the base needs to be very thin. Make the mash up quite thick, then press it into a flat dish (I used a swiss roll tin for easy of cutting up after cooking). Cook it in a slow oven until it's crispy, then spread the top with chopped tomatoes and loads of other tasty bits - sweetcorn, onion, peppers and maybe some chopped ham. Sprinkle over with cheese from your HEs (two HEs worth is specially nice or you could syn the extra) and pop back in the oven for a few minutes for everything to meld together...yum!

I took mine to group for a tasting and almost everyone took the recipe because they'd enjoyed it.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Per 100g, the first 2 are free :T The one with pineapple is 1 syn.

Thanks for that Susie, glad the top ones free sounds nice. Hubby just popped to our local MrT express but they only had plain c/cheese so got that bubbling away on my quiche. Have ordered the other c/cheese for my main delivery in week.
Have made a huge quiche this week so hubby can have some if he wants. Am a bit dubious as to how wet it will be as used frozen mushrooms & peppers [miked first then squeezed out] will see how it goes.
Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

just looking through recepies, anyone tried the syn free pizza - potato (smash) base?
    what's it like? truthfully ... ;) lol

I like the pizza made with smash. I normally use the packet with 6 portions and then I add italian seasoning and garlic granules to the dry mixture, this adds flavour and takes away the potato taste. I then add 3/4 pint of boiling water and this makes a thick mixture.

Preheat oven to 200 and I put a round pizza pan with holes in the oven to heat up.

Take pizza pan out of the oven and spray with frylight. Then press smash mixture until it fills whole tray and is even all over. Cook for 10 minutes. Take out of oven and turn pizza base onto a plate and then back into pizza pan to cook the other side for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile I fry some bacon and mushrooms, slice some cooked chicken, open tin of sweetcorn and grate 1.5oz light cheddar (6 syns).

When pizza base is crispy on both sides add 2 tbsp tomato puree (1 syn) top with bacon, mushrooms, chicken, sweetcorn and cheese. I then put under a hot grill until the cheese has melted and serve with a large salad. This make an 11" pizza for 7 syns. It is nice re-heated the next day.

    Hope you like

have you the link for the subscription?

both drinks are free. I like to have my squash with fizzy water, this way I get the fizzy hit without as much of the nasties in proper fizzy drinks.

Hello all, I am thinking of making a quiche tonight (first time) and I wondered if it will work if I mix quork cheese and cottage cheese together, does anyone know? Only because I think If I just use quork it will be too cheesy, and if I just use Cottage cheese it won't be cheesy enough. I plan on adding mushrooms onion and peppers to the mix too.

    Thank you in advance xx

I wouldn;t say either cottage cheese or quark actually taste like any REAL cheese I've ever tasted. Add some of the real stuff, weigh it so you know the syns or HEs in the total thing. If you buy Cathedral Light Extra Mature Cheddar you can hardly (hmmm, hardly hardly) tell the difference. Cats can tell the difference, but humans can't :D
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
