Dizz - you could just have a speedy (windy) day and eat dyno soup all day?
Oooorrrr... leek & potato soup. that's nice pureed, proper comfort food
Funnily enough I think I'm going to try a whizzed up soup today, I fancy a smooth soup.Think it'll be vaguely Dyno-esque, let me see what's around...
Carrot & swede
mixed peppers
leeks
onions
garlic (let's see if I can put less than an entire bulb in this time!!)
baked beans
tinned tomatoes
lentils
Hmmmm. 9 speed soup, anyone?I must say, I'm totally addicted to baked beans in soup these days.
50 calories down on the X trainer. It would be lovely to burn 600 throughout the course of the day - 30 syns' worth. Not entirely sure I will be managing that, though!Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
theres a thought, Ive got leeks to use up in the salad drawer......never been succesful with leek & Potato when Ive had a bash at it before dunno why ?? it just tasted - bland
any suggestions?0 -
Garlic?
I think in general when I've been unsuccessful in the past with soups its because I haven't used enough stock.
Leeks
Potatoes
onions
garlic
Mixed herbs (or parsley by itself would be nice)
stock cubes & water
Seasoning
cook
blend
(that's about as technical as you'll get from me!)
I made my soup (actual ingredients ended up as 1/2 bnut squash, garlic, swede & carrot lazy mix, a chilli, onions, a small leek, mixed herbs, baked beans, red lentils, ham stock, and moroccan spice blend). You were right Dizz, its not as good blended!
I have added some frozen peas and sweetcorn for the next bowl - I miss having something to chew on!Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

I wish you luck!;)
What you've said has raised a question in my mind. Unfortunately exercise is on hold for me at the moment as I've just had a minor leg op. I was wondering whether using fewer calories but still on the SW plan (like the fish, fruit and veg elements) would help 'claw back' any syns if I'd been overindulging?:o Any thoughts?0 -
WI this morning and I stayed the Same :-( Not even sure if I have put a pound back on, as my scales are the old fashioned dial ones 2lb per little line, and I weighed 3 times and once the needle sat between lines so I think I will opt for STS and not 1lb on :-)
Still happy though and staying with it, I might not be saying that next week if I don't lose.
Think I'll start putting my foods down, if anyone thinks Im doing anything wrong, please shout at me!!
EE
Brek: Banana & activia FF
Lunch: Chicken Salad, 2 tangerines
Tea: Planning on Jacket spud, baked beans and salad
Pub tonight (only night I drink!) will have 4 large ones 20 syns, but have saved up the syns for this, and when I get home Im usually hank marvin so will have a mugshot and straight to bed before I start eyeing up the cream eggs.:rotfl:0 -

Ive not been able to exercise at all since starting SW and my losses have been fairly good each week even though i'm not mobile(when Ive stuck to plan and not been on holiday) the one way you can increase losses is to look at your book and increase the number of ss foods you eat chicken, fish, strawbs, rasbs, melon etc and of course....good old DYNO ROD SOUP0 -

Plenty of thoughts, since I am recovering from a broken leg! (I have got my physio's permission to be on X trainer though)
When I did my break end of November, I was in a cast for 7 weeks in total, first 5 or so of them not hopping very far at all. I rang my consultant to ask if I should cut back on syns because I was inactive and she said no, I should still lose.
(By the way, hammering the X trainer is not a recommended way of clawing back an overindulgence!)
The result was, with a well-intentioned mum cooking, Christmas, house in disarray due to boiler being replaced (= takeaways galore!), my birthday, studing from exams, eating at service stations on two long journeys, staying in a B&B with full english fry ups for 2 nights, hospital food for 10 days, sympathy chocolates etc etc... I still managed a 4.5lb loss over the time I was away from class (2 months) - 1/2 lb per week. I figure I was using my normal 15 syns per day for about 2/3 of that time - and the 1/3 I was over on syns, although apart from Xmas day not by more than about 10. Had it not been Xmas/birthday/exams etc, I would probably have doubled that.
I use a full 15 syns because I have a lot to lose, and frankly I'd rather not feel deprived than have a lower calorie count. Plus take it too low and your body holds on to fat, and you risk losing muscle instead. etc.
So what I'm trying to say, in a very round about way, is that it was perfectly possible for me to lose weight, even with all my exercise taken away, using 15 syns a day and plenty of over syns budget days.
there were 2 things which helped me when I was inactive. One was being effing bliming determined that I wasn't going to gain as I had seen my (ex) friend do last year when she broke her foot and was inactive (3 stone in 6 months! Then she carried on upwards ), and two, carrying on counting when days went over my syns, despite my best efforts. That seemed to really help me get back on track the next day.
Then about 2 weeks ago I found out I could do Davina's DVD sitting downSo exercise is possible, you just have to work out how.
