I do have a question - I don't normally eat breakfast or lunch at all, so I'm trying hard to do that, but I'm mostly having fruit, maybe with a Mullerlight or Hi-Fi bar as that's all I can really stomach. I eat a lot in the evenings, but will not eating a lot during the day ruin my weight loss?
Breakfast like a King - lunch like a lord and supper like a pauper is the old standard.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It will kickstart your metabolism and having lunch will top up at lunchtime. Eating is the best way to raise this so not eating during the day will keep your body in starvation mode and it will hang on to any resources it has.
Eating during the evening will sabotage your efforts as you are at your least active. Eating at bedtime is one of the worst things as you are just lying in bed sleeping so not using any of the calories you have consumed.
Try something about an hour after getting up and soon you will get used to eating at that time of day.
Oh yes - nearly forgot - welcomeMags - who loves shopping0 -
Hi guys, I got to target last October and haven't been to group since November. I'm now about 6lb over target  and am thinking of going back. Does anyone know whether I have to rejoin as it's more than 3 months since I went, or do I just go back as an over target, target member?? Many thanks xxSome people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0

Morning all! Went over syns a bit yesterday! Stupidly decided to bake biscuits....then ate more than my fair share! Its because I'm not going to WI tonight, always makes me lose the plot! Have brought the biccies to work to share with the boys but I know I'll be having atlest a couple....it's a good job I made them small!! OH and I are having our valentine's treat tonight so the syn situation's not going to get any better!! Back on the tank in the morning....are you still driving Dizzy?
So here's my very non-SW meal plan for the day. Going to call it green till lunch and ignore the evening!!
Brekkie - porridge (HEA&B) with cinnamon and ginger and a banana
Lunch - dynorod, ryvita and laughing cow (HEA&B), jelly (0.5), yogurt
Tea - breadcrumbed jalapenos stuffed with low fat philly,
Deconstructed beef wellington (with the super expensive fillet steak!!), mushrooms, toms, salad, sw roasties
Millionaire's shortbread tart
Syns for the day.......about 1million!!!
Must recommend my brekkie - Porridge with a sprinkle of ground ginger and cinnamon mixed in is deeeelish!!!!0 -
Had a fantastic find in my local charity shop, 2 bright pink dumbells (they weigh 2lb each)
What do I do with them?
Beginner routine - do not rest between each excercise:- Warm up/Stretch all muscle groups (run up and down the stairs 5 times, then shadow box for 5 minutes)
- 5 lunges (each leg, 10 in total)
- 5 curls (each arm, 10 in total)
- 5 tricep kicks (each arm, 10 in total - http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/mraz4kick.jpg)
- 5 overhead presses (http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/mraz4presses.jpg)
- 5 deadlifts (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_svlzKiA0HqQ/ScEgaNUa87I/AAAAAAAAAHE/i3ltK1Q6dQI/s1600/DB%2BDeadlift.jpg - KEEP YOUR BACK STRAIGHT, LOOK FORWARD)
- Rest 2 minutes
- REPEAT ENTIRE ROUTINE
- Rest 1 minute
- REPEAT ENTIRE ROUTINE
For me, not sure what to expect tonight. Had a bad Saturday night (brother in laws Stag night which was... messy) and the first half of Sunday wasn't great thanks to my raging hangover... Aside from that, I've been quite good. Who knows. Not expecting much, the beer will mean one hell of a retention of water.
Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.

( For someone so self-effacing there's a big gap in the flat tonight - usually he would be on my knee or right against the pc; occasionally demanding to be let out/in the front door as he preferred to go the long way round for a wee then back in thru the cat flap. I miss him. Micky came to live with me the week my mum died in 1995, bringing home to me that it's 16 years since I saw my lovely Mum too
huge hugs bbrum - i have 2 cats and i am dreading the day i have to say goodbye to them. when i got them 18months ago i never realised how attached to them i would become, they really are my furbabies.......
Bad week for me emotionally  Mum in hospital today having something nasty removed from her lung and on Thursday it's a year since I lost Dad, also from lung cancer
Note to self: Keep it together!!!

need to get closer to the wagon even if i am not getting on it again for another week or so.0 -

Yes you read it right (you must have had your glasses on!:rotfl:)
It is nice - doesn't really taste like marshmallows but is sweet - hard to describe! (it is very pink!) It is on offer at MrM atm 2 for £1 - they also do a sherbet lemon one aswell (tastes lemony with a hint of 'sherbet' ish!)
Sorry i am not really explaining it well! I am not very good with words!:o
Dizzy - they were doing fibre plus bars bogof at MrM on sunday! not sure if still on offer but you could treat yourself for when your mouth is betterx

Good evening all, newbie here :hello:
I'm attempting the SW way, after trying WW a few times, I have been on it now for 4 weeks and have lost just over 7lbs.
I can't afford to go to the meetings, but I'm hoping that reading this thread and everyone's different recipies and food diaries that it will keep me motivated and give me lots of ideas.
I was just wondering if I could ask a couple of questions please - does anyone know if the Tesco discount brand (Tulip I think) Ham Trim is classed as free or do I have to syn it, I don't eat the bits with fat on, but some bits do have fat running through them?
Also, I've got a party to organise and I wonder if anyone has any good ideas for free or low syn party food, I'm sure i've seen people mentioning quiche on here before, any ideas would be hugely welcomed.
Anyways, thats my questions (for now) and I hope that with all of you on here that I can finally get shot of some of this weight for good. I waned to say a HUGE well done to all the people that have done so well and lots so much, you are an inspiration and I hope I can do well too.
Thanks for listening
Emma
Hi emma
welcome to the thread
Ive had a look on sw syns online, but it doesnt list the ham? if you could post the nutritional info It can be put through the syn calculator manually.
if you look on the 1st page of this thread there is a recipe link that might help you with some things to make. I do recommend the fruit roulade for only 1/2 syn for the whole lotand the quiche is yummy
