Morning all! I had a really good weekend (unusual for me) and I've done my shopping and meal plan for the week. I made the cod with lemon pesto and garlic mash from the EE cook book on Saturday night - it was really tasty! I cheated a little (skimmed milk instead of hot water for the mash) but I counted that as my HEA.
Plan for today:
B - fruit, yog + oats (HEB)
L - cajun chicken salad + feta (HEA)
D - ragu
snacks - apple, banana, kiwi + yog
syns - not sure yet. I'd like to use at least 5, but am not drinking this week so am at a loss as what to spend them on! Perhaps some cheese on the Ragu, or a couple of mikado.
Just been asked by work to speak at a conference in Abu Dhabi - very excited but also kinda nervous, I've never been to the middle east.:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. William Shatner

Hi guys
Before Xmas our consultant did something lovely for our group, which was give us a handout with 14 lbs to count down to Christmas on it, to stick on our fridges and tick off the lbs to see our progress (and hopefully help avoid the naughty fridge fairies!). It really worked for me, as I was sad enough to go out and buy little star stickers (asda) and it gave me extra motivation to see the stickers building up.
I've been playing on the 'puter and made one for "A Stone for Spring". Its nothing too amazing, but if anybody would like a copy (its a MS Publisher document) PM me your email address and I'll email it out. There is a second page for anyone who gets carried away and loses over 1 stone
but nobody is to laugh at my dodgy drawing - its supposed to be a set of scales, ok?!! :rotfl: Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -
Morning All,
WI for me tonight - also got a taster session - i attempted to make the 1/2 syn roulade - it looks awful! Couldn't get it to 'roll' up - think i used too much fruit & yogurt for filling! :rotfl: (hope it doesn't put people off!)
Not a good Sat or Sun - DH brought me thortons chocs & i worked them out to be 3.5 syns each!!! Sat i had 6 & sun i had 4! at least i didn't polish the whole box off :A (i would have before SW!) on top of that i had 250ml Rose wine on sat & large (ish) glass of red wine on sunday:o
Sunday was our treat for Valentines day (with my parents & brother!) - fillet steak (not very MSE!) with wedges, big mushroom topped with 28g light bousin (2), roasted butternut squash, onions, garlic cloves, toms and swede & a 'fried' egg & some pepper sauce (2) then to follow a piece of quark struddle & custard (15?)
Whoops!
I did stick to 5 syns on thurs & friday but i am not expecting a loss today!
Need to use home 'gym' more!
BTW the beans eventually softened in my soup! (after a couple of days cooking!) and the end product was gorgeous! :j:T:j:T:j:T
Sending all my love on Valentines Day x :lovethoug0 -
hi, can i join in the thread?
I joined sw 3 weeks ago, lost 6.5 lbs the first week
stayed the same on the second,
and now dreading weigh in on tuesday as really lost the plot, i havent stuck to plan at all and on verge of tears as so annoyed with myself as bought the count down until april to motivate myself which we so couldnt afford but thought in the long run it would be worth it as depressed about my weight.
so
from today must stick to plan!!!!! so if i write on here everyday will you please help me? I eat little meat but love bread, cheese and wine!!!! so its green days all the way usually ive read all your posts and you all support each other so please can someone out there help me?
My goal is 2lb a week and have 3.5 stone to lose, as 5 ft and have back problems so the weight really affects my back, i hate gyms, and main excercise is walking and when i go i do enjoy its just getting myself going!!!!
breakfast 2 cups tea and porrige made with water and milk from allowance
lunch sw chips and beans and a egg
tea veg frittata, muller yogurt banana and cup tea
all free on green
Welcome Karren and good luck! I'm no expert compared with others but (as well as dizzy's comment about definitely more superfrees) you really should use your syns. It's a mistake to feel you're going to lose more by having all syn free days. If you have no treats at all you're less likely to stick to the plan and when you get closer to target and maybe plateau a bit you'll have no way of cutting back. I'm sure there are other reasons as well:) Apologies if you're saving them for something special.0 -

Afternoon peeps
Well this weekend was sooooo not good foodwise but excellent celebration wise. Not only was it Valentine's weekend (there may have been a chippy tea involved) my OH got offered a permanent job (signed his contract this morning!) so there was a nice bottle of plonk to be drunk and then we had German guests over and now my army cousin is home for two weeks and would like our guest room and in tru German style has brought us more booze as a gift. I'm only working three days this week as well so I must be double good to avoid temptation
My good news is not weight per se but inches - I've lost 6 overall since 1st Jan
My weigh in is Weds so not looking forward to seeing the damage from the weekend on the scales. Smile and the world smiles with you....and if the world won't then I will :A

Hi
Wonder if anyone can give me a bit of advise? i have just joined SW club and we meet every Tuesday. So far i have been to 2 meetings. the problem is that im not overly keen on the meetings. the queue is very long which i dont mind standing in but when i finally get weighed i am asked every week if im staying for the talk and when i say no becuase i never have the time to stay after qing im made to feel guilty etc i also dont like the happy clappy aspect of it. but i really need to lose the weight!! just want to go, get weighed discreetly and then go!!0 -
Dizzyk - good luck with your physio and where do you get all your smilies from they are great.
well last night I planned ahead and made my lunch for today.... now for the rest of you this may be the routine way to do things, however I am officially the most disorganised person when it comes to myself, I even have a fridge magnet that says so :rotfl:
so for lunch as today is EE I'm having some cous cous with loads of veg and bacon yum yum.
I have even :A (polishes halo) prepared tea for tonight and transformed our leftover bolognaise into chilli con carne.
I have finally discovered that with a little thought and effort I can be almost organised.
Long may it continue :T
as long as the synful fairies stay away I may have a decent weight loss this first week.
question for you all has anyone had the implanon implant in and found it hampered/slowed down their weight loss, I'm thinking of changing to a hormone free contraceptive as most of the ones I've tried make me put on weight without even trying :mad:Sealed pot challenge - member no:506
