I was very sceptical about the WW bread to start with and found it a bit tasteless (and tiny) for a sandwich. Now I always toast it and I've got to really enjoy it. I have mine without spread and either have it with beans/eggs for breakfast, toasted like a cracker with soup or with sardines and beetroot for a quick lunch or spread with marmite and topped with cucumber for a quick snack. It's great being able to have bread a couple of times a day. Personally, as long as I have something 'wet' with it, I don't miss the spread.
Maman, I agree with you about the bread. I prefer my homemade wholemeal, but the amount you get for 57g is tiny. With the WW bread at least you get surface area to carry the beans or whatever IYSWIM. It is weirdly insubstantial, but I can live with it.

Hi all, New poster on this page. But not new to SW. Money is set to get a bit tight from here on in due to OH not working and price of food rising. Just a question - Can I do SW from the books I have and the support on here, or do I have to join my local club? Don't find them very useful I'm afraid.

Can't get my head aroudn Extra Easy either - think I prefer the old red and green days, but all the new recipes are only sinned with EE in mind. Any help gratefully received. x
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Morning, WI day for me and i STS. Not surprising at all after a very unSW weekend. Glad its not a gain!

Just had 1/2 a dozen strawberries and having my coffee before i go out.

Will have breakfast at uni - 2 x alpen light(B), FF activia, a nana and maybe a clementine - depends how nice they are. The last few have been horrible. Think i'm going to stop buying them.

Lunch will be a WM roll(B), 13g cheese, ham(1), pickle(1/2) and some more fruit and yoghurt

Dinner is pasta in HM tomato sauce with Quorn meatballs and 50g cheese.

Well done to our losers. Some great losses this week:T

£22 hospital car park and the £15 on TV cards for him and as a result we had no money left to buy fresh food.

Sorry to hear your son is in hospital,
Its outrageous the cost of parking and having to pay for tv whilst in hospital, it makes me so mad.
I find it difficult to keep to the plan if there is no fruit and veg available and those things can be expensive compared to biscuits etc

    Morning all,

Esmf73 Welcome, and by all means use us as your support group. Going to class doesn't work for everyone. All the information you need is in your books. Extra Easy can take a bit of getting used to, if you've been used to doing red/green days, however, it does come into it's own if you fancy having a full roast dinner, a big plate of spag bol, or find that your carb/meat portions end up being larger on a red/green day for whatever reason. I also find they make eating out a whole lot easier, as I can eat relatively 'normally'. The only sacrifice to be made is that you only get 1 A & B choice on an Extra Easy day. The easiest way to try out EE is to try out one of the SW recipes, or as I did, follow a meal plan someone on here posts :D

DKAM - Well done! Is life a bit busy right now and getting in the way? Mine's a bit like that at the mo, and I pop back on after a day or two and there's more than 10 pages to try to catch up with!

I'm off swimming in a short while... hope I can still remember how to!

Food plan today is looking something like this:

B - FF Activia, blueberries, plum, banana (I'm not keen on the plums, but I eat one while I make a cuppa and it's gone then)
L - chicken, pork, tomatoes, cucumber, coleslaw (2 syns)
D - LF sausages (2 syns), mash, carrots, green beans, peas, gravy (2 syns)
    HeA - milk in teas
HeB - Fibre Plus bar for supper

I may need to tweak this later if I've had anything different.

    Have a great Thursday gang.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

  • Had my WI at my new class I transferred to last night and have put on 1.5lbs :( Not happy. So, today is another day and I'm going to try harder and see how next weeks WI goes. The new consultant was pointing out to me that the non-free food (she called it 'bulk' food) is more important than the free food - what she meant is that people were maybe putting on a 1lb or two and wondering why as they would say they had been really going for it with the fruit and veg but their portions of the bulk food were small and apparently, that isn't the way to do it. You have to make sure it's the 2/3rds to 1/3rd ratio. She said she had tried it out for a week with another member, sticking to it rigidly and she had lost 4lbs (and she was at target). I found it all quite interesting and was something to bear in mind as I have definitely not eaten as much in the last week, and probably dropped the amount of bulk food as opposed to the free stuff. Anyway, just thought I'd mention it as it might be of interest to some folks (and I hope I've quoted my consultant correctly too!).

Can anyone tell me what SW quiche is? I've heard a lot of folks mention it and I have to try it :)

Oh, just remembered another question I had - is it right that Mugshots are free on EE? The ones that are 1%?

    :):):):)
