Well done everyone on their losses, wow you are all doing so well.
Had a great day today, decided to take the plunge and joined the local gym...just for a month to see if I like it.
Did do about 25 mins cardio and 20 mins weights...took it steady though as I didn't want to over do it on my first attempt.
Food wise today a good day...EE

Breakfast was, oats so simple with an apple
    Mid morning, a pear
Lunch, a large salad with a jacket potatoe and FF cottage cheese, with a FF dressing
    Mid afternoon, an orange
Dinner, will be late today as DH not home whilst 8pm and we try and eat together..
a chilli con carne(HM) with loads of veg in, and some rice.

Thank you Lil-me for the recipes.. :-)
HE.. 250 mls semi skim milk.
Snacks will be a chocolate options (2 syns) and maybe will have some weetabix (6.5 syns)later with FF yogurt.

    :)

    Hi all,

Just wondered if I could have some advice from those who go to group. Last year I joined online and did really well, but these last few months things have been slipping a bit! A few pounds have crept back on and I’m only doing things half heartedly!

I’m tempted to join a local group, but I’m not too sure it’s for me. My thinking is that for the same money as online, I also get to go to a group and meet other people, but I’ve heard it can be a bit “happy clappy”, and I’m really no sure that’s for me.

What do you all think? Do you get a lots out of it? I mean, I know the plans well enough, I think I just need the inspiration / motivation of a weekly weigh in!
    Thanks all.
I personally quite enjoy class. You'd be amazed (perhaps) how good you feel when people you have come to respect for their dedication to improving their health/weight loss give you a cheer & a clap for doing well. OK, the clapping also when you have INCREASED in weight is a bit patronising ... but it shouldn't happen should it so we've only ourselves to blame for being patronised :D I am genuinely thrilled with some people at our class and their weight loss (I wiped away a tear last night cos one young girl just looks so vibrant and confident now, after just a few months). I must be a soppy old !!!!!! ... but I'd say give a class a go - sometimes it takes a week or two before you feel part of it but I do think it is motivating and quite good fun. "Let's beat it together" (snigger):rotfl:

I find it really difficult to have third superfrees somedays too. Not being picky, but I didn't think bananas were superfree? I think they're like parsnips (fruit and veg but not superfree).
about the bananas, they may be superfree but I have heard them mentioned, along with grapes, as being something that may delay weight loss if you eat TOO MANY of them. Possibly because they are "easy" to eat. I knew a lady in pre-EE days who was gaining slightly rather than losing, she is a mobile hairdresser and just munched on bananas all day, eating about 8 a day! I wouldn't have more than one a day myself. I did wonder though, if the original poster with the OaTsosimple and banana was drinking any/enough water? None was mentioned. In fact, none of us has mentioned water for a few days.
remember to drink plenty of water everyone

After my ridiculous 4lb gain last week, I got on the scales tonight feeling like I deserved a loss.

I worked hard, just wanted to feel 'in the zone' again, put some real effort in this week and was angry with myself for being such a moron last week and letting myself go so badly.

5.5lbs off tonight. I feel like a brick wall, there was no surprise when I got on, just satisfaction that my hard work paid dividends. 4 stone 4.5lb down now and still going.

Whatever doesn't kill me, can only make me stronger.
  • I've had some lovely gnocchi tonight with a syn free tomato and vegetable sauce - Trattoria Verdi is the make from Tesco - not the fresh stuff, but it's dried in the pasta aisle. Does anybody know how it rates on the syns front please? It's a 500g pack but serves 4.
    Trattoria Verdi Potato Gnocchi (500g).

    Thanks! :)

well done woot and everyone else
2lb loss tonight, so thats 10lb in the last 4weeks (5,2,1,2) so am pretty happy now when I think of it as double figures :-)
Breakfast today chocolate weetabix (didnt enjoy at all for some reason)
lunch- left over lamb and mega veg curry (more veg than lamb if you see what I mean)
dinner (when kids finally go to sleep) will be left over roast beef made into a stir fry with blackbean sauce
    No snacks today
drinks- coffee with skimmed milk, water

syns will be the blackbean sauce which is about 4 I think......

Nintendo wii should have been here today but I missed delivery as was at work,,,,hopefully will be redelivered tomorrow so hopefully will use this to increase exercise on those days when I just cant be bothered to go to gym (well thats the plan anyway)

Well, things went slightly pete tong today. Lunch was extremely filling so I didn't have my Alpen light bars ... still haven't had my HEB today ... grrr @ birthday cake.

Tea changed too. Kids wanted pasta so I roasted some veg (sweet potato, peppers, onion, mushrooms) and popped some of this (once roasted) into my tomato sauce and had this was pasta and 2 slices of bacon. OMG it was gorge!

Hopefully this will fade away nicely before my WI in the morning.

    Wish me luck ;)

All I can find for this on the syns online is this, not sure if its what you have though

Gnocchi, potato dumplings, cooked without fat, 100g cooked 1.5 EE, 7.5 Red, 1.5 Green.

    Hope this helps x
