Right then everyone, I have updated the SW recipe thread with LOTS of recipes. Most of which were posted on the Old Style board kindly pointed out by our lovely Consultant31 (Thank you!).

I've not had time to go through everything individually and check the contents. I've also very rougly categorised them. Please let me know if you spot any mistakes, or you think something should be in a different category etc etc.

So check them all out here - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/40936144#Comment_40936144

"Woot, I think you probably already knew all or most of the above, but it was an interesting exercise for me to do, and just proves to me the importance of a) exercise, and b) eating enough, including your syns and healthy extras, and having a varied diet."

Thanks Woot, and Skintslimmer, for this reminder; I know that exercise is the best thing I can do, but I feel at the moment even just getting upstairs is a struggle - I have lost all the fitness I had even at 6+ stone heavier than I am now. I have felt tired for soooo long:mad:.

I am longing to get out and walk. Yet I know the only way I will get there is to get out there and do it IYKWIM.

But on a good note, I have lost 4lbs this week, and am losing faster than the last time I think because I'm not cutting back on the syns.
  • Well I have decided to change my weigh in day to a Wednesday as I go the pub on a Wed night (which I save up syns for!!) and generally hold water then for a couple of days, so think Wednesday's are better days to weigh in. So I weighed myself this morning and Ive lost 4lb since Saturday :j:j

I must add though, I have been doing a lot of weeing this last few days so I guess its mainly fluid but felt fab to see that loss on the scales, 3 more lb to go and I'll be under the 12 stone mark:D

Again I want to thank you all, you lot keep me on the straight and narrow, even if I DON'T tell you enough and post enough, I always read and your all an inspiration to me xxx
  • Hi all,

Just wondered if I could have some advice from those who go to group. Last year I joined online and did really well, but these last few months things have been slipping a bit! A few pounds have crept back on and I’m only doing things half heartedly!

I’m tempted to join a local group, but I’m not too sure it’s for me. My thinking is that for the same money as online, I also get to go to a group and meet other people, but I’ve heard it can be a bit “happy clappy”, and I’m really no sure that’s for me.

What do you all think? Do you get a lots out of it? I mean, I know the plans well enough, I think I just need the inspiration / motivation of a weekly weigh in!

    Thanks all.

Different groups do things differently. Mine is very happy clappy, but you're also asked how you've got on, if you've had any challenges and if you've got anything on for the next week. I get a lot out of sitting and listening to others, and you'll be amazed at the inspiration you can get! Little things like how to cope with partys, and (in the summer) BBQs.

Some groups (like my sisters) then allocate time for a chosen topic, like breakfasts or body magic.

Since it's the same money as online and if it's local enough to get to then I'd go to group. Even if you just weigh and leave that might help the motivation.

I go to class every week, yes you do get the clappy bit with image therapy where you congratulate everyones loss - but thats just part of it (and quite motivating really especially when you watch people shrinking each month :)).....you also get to find out lots of hints and tips to keep you on the straight & narrow. I find knowing Im going to class to WI helps me focus more on being 'good' too ;)
  • Thanks Lil_Me,

I feel exactly the same :o Ive not been able to do any sort of exercise since my last op in March last year.....even walking is at a snails pace & I'm not safe out alone so its a non starter. I used to be able to do quite a bit of swimming between my 1st & last op - but thats not been a success the times ive tried on holiday with the sickies  Hey ho there's time yet for us to get going with it hun eh ;) x x

Just had my favourite dinner - Quorn chicken burger on a roll with a splodge of ketchup, SW chips and beans:)

Had both A+B and 5.5 syns so far.

Felt really rough earlier, was sick and felt really weak and shaky. Feel a bit better now though.

Have some lovely strawberries in, will nom them later with meringue and FF vanilla activia. So lushhuepfen024.gif
