  • Hi everyone,

Sorry to butt in, but have a query from a newbie here. My husband has just started SW today. He has got Tesco pre-prepared fruit medley packs to go with his lunches assuming as they are fresh fruit they will be syn free. A girl at work has told him they won't be free, and probably carry a lot of syns. Does anyone know if this is true or not? He doesn't want to get off on a bad start on day one!

Thanks for this! I never venture into the old style boards so didn't know this existed already!

Would people prefer to add the recipes to the bigger thread, or would you rather I swap everything over to the new thread? I'm happy either way, but I did notice that the index of the old thread hasn't been updated since 2008.

It wouldn't take me long to link to the original recipe posts i.e they wouldn't be actually in the thread but you could access them from the first post. Alternatively I can add them in individually (giving a link and credit to the original post) and I can look at updating the syns as some of the recipes are quite a few years old and don't include EE.

Like I said I don't mind just using the other thread if that's what others want.

I would prefer to have a link to SW recipes on this thread please - I don't venture onto the Old Style Boards. Thanks for doing this hun - much appreciated

Apocasave, I have had a look online and nothing comes up under fruit medley. Nothing under fruit looks likely either. Have you got a pot in front of you? Look at the ingredients, if it is only fruit it must be free. I suppose if it has added fruit juice or sugar then there would be syns.

As long as it is ONLY fruit....not in any juices/syrups it will be free. Just look at the ingredients to make sure ;)

I often buy the pre prepped packs from asda when Im on route to the hosp and I get caught out hungry.

I am at home today as I have lost my voice and when I try to speak my throat hurts and I get a thobbing headache. Feeling really run down and depressed about my job. I know I am lucky to have one but the workload and stress just seems overwhelming. I am so fed up of being stressed and worried about it all.
I have had a good SW day so far though.
    Green
    HEA: milk for tea/coffee
Breakfast: two quorn sausages, rosti, onions
Lunch: HM vegeburger (1.5 syns), 2xWM bread (HEB) 1 tbspn Hellmans light (2 syns), lots of cucumber
    Options hot chocolate (2 syns)
So, so far 1x HEA, 1 x HEB and 5.5 syns.
Tonight will be pasta, purple kale, garlic and chilli with 84g feta (HEA and HEB) plus tomato and cucumber salad. Still have some syns in hand too. Might syn 16g feta so that I can just have half the packet rather than having a tiny amount of feta hanging around.
WI tomorrow, think it will be a gain or STS if I am lucky but feel ok about it as I am back on track. For me, it is all about planning.
    Good luck everyone!
