If you like the shop bought ones these are very similar, but completely without syns - the ones in the shops are quite high in syns.
Potato cakes.
1 packet smash
1 egg yolk
seasoning
Fry light or at least a non-stick tray.
Cling film
Make up smash with as little water as you can get away with. Season, mix in egg yolk, cool in fridge.
Preheat oven to 220 degrees C.
flatten dough onto cling film, fold clingfilm back over itself, so that you are rolling the dough between 2 pieces of cling film. makes it much easier to handle! I had to do this in 3 batches, so a little fiddly. Roll it out to a square or rectangle shape, about 1/2 cm thick.
Spray oven tray with fry light, cut dough into squares, and using a fish slice transfer them onto the tray. Cook for approx 6-10 minutes on first side until set and starting to brown, turn over and repeat.
do not burn your fingers trying to eat them too quickly because you can't wait for them to cool down
These were supposed to be for free pizza bases, but I made one into a pizza and decided I prefered them this way!Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels0 -

plain omlette, with plain rice and vegetables (out of those steam fresh bags, which I duly took the herb butter out of. Again.)
yoghurt and blueberries
Well, at least its been on plan (if you forgive the lack of healthy extras!).
I just have no idea what upset my stomach???
SS I hope you soon feel better! Iwas going to suggest yoghurt for your tum but I see you had some. You don't have to fish out the little butter lumps you know, it's a couple of syns for a teaspoon of butter so you can give yourself a treat if you like! Thanks for that majjak. I got very confused with the gravy discussion earlier, was wondering how anyone could measure their gravy in teaspoons!! Then I realised (I think) that the tsps were the dry granules.
I'll have granule gravy with sausages but with a joint I really prefer to do my own with cornflour and meat juices. Need to leave loads of syns for that!
Someone mentioned SW foods coming to a supermarket near you. Does that mean SW is going to branch into ready meals like WW? Not sure what I think about that.
me neither, re the "ready meals". Although, as I don't eat them (I can make up a salad with some freshly cooked fish or potatoes in it in 4 mins, quicker than heating a ready meal) I shouldn't care! Maman, you could cut back on the cornflour by cooking your meat juices, some water from cooking vegetables (or wine, syns again though) and a stock cube or sprinkling of Marigold stock, and cook it for a few mins until it naturally thickens - hey presto syn free gravy and it tastes lovely! Browned onions as a base are fab too.

No! I read up on it after I posted and the first thing they say is the seeds must be planted right away, not even left overnight! So you will simply have to buy some morewhen you've moved

Just wanted to say hello :hello: to everyone what a great thread.
I want to lose 2 stone by the end of July, and I have decided to do Slimming World. Looks just like healthy eating, nothing fady so I can feed DH the same food too.
So today day one... EE
Brekkie: was a boiled egg with fresh fruit (bannana and a pear)
Lunch: was a salmon sarnie with lettuce and cucumber (HE) and as I had 3 slices of bread also counted the extra bread as 4.5 syns (no butter)
snack: small glass of fruit smoothie (4.5 syns) and a few slices of cucumber with cherry tomatoes.
Dinner: Left over pork from yesterdays lunch with salad and pasta with syn free salad dressing.
Also had 1/2 pint of semi skim milk in my teas through out the day.
Have also done about an hours exercise today at a gym so have had a great day... The gym session was part of a Christmas pressie, but as I enjoyed myself very much I may go and Join my local one, will go and have a look anyway, you can pay by the session if you want so I would only pay for what I used...will think about this one need to be MSE with this if I can. :money:Jue0 -

I think I have eaten some off chicken about an hour ago. I made Chicken Tikka the chicken by the time it had been marinaded had been in the fridge for 2 days. However the last couple of bites tasted odd, I hope I haven't gone and infected myself... however food poisoning may my aid weight loss:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: (that was a joke I don't advocate poisoning yourself)
I feel queasy but I don't know if it is just my mind.... it wouldn't come on this quickly.... would it???"People buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, to impress people they don't like" - Clive Hamilton on Consumerism.0 -
My frylight has nearly run out. I was looking at the fillipp berio oil spray, but has anyone tried putting oil in an empty frylight bottle? It seems so expensive. I am sure I remember Sue Kreitzman recommending making an oil and water spray. Maybe I will google it and see what I can find.
Edit: found it

OIL WATER SPRAY
Fill a clean, new plant mister or small plastic scent spray seven eighths with water and one eighth with good oil. To use, just shake and spray. This gives you a light even misting of oil and water (in the heat of cooking the water evaporates, leaving a hint of oil), just enough to do the job. Keep a spray bottle for olive oil, one for sunflower oil, and one for sesame oil (for seasoning Oriental dishes).Grocery Challenge (2 adults 2 kids)
